I enjoy your video on your modifications and your adventures. I have gone through similar modifications on my 22 Trophy Walkaround (bimini top with full enclosure). I added a door constructed out of 3/4 marine plywood, that simply latches in place of the current door, and the ceramic/plastic hatch/top comes down to hold in place. I fiberglassed the door, and added cutout for a small G.E. 450 Watt window A/C unit. I used it last year while camping in Big Lagoon State Park in Pensacola (caught the Blue Angles air show in July). I have had a 350 Watt 2-cycle Honda Generator for years, and it stores great down in the v-berth. It can run lights (especially LED), fans, and even charge the batteries. but simply isn't powerful enough to run an A/C. I have found some 125 Watt heaters recently (Haven't actually tried to use them while camping on the boat), and I use a Little Buddy propane heater (only while I'm awake). I like your little generator, but was also considering getting a either a Champion 3500 Duel fuel (to use propane on the boat), or even a remote start 3100 (RV ready) with remote start . but your utilization of the Atima 2000 Watt with a Yamaha engineer, has me reconsidering. The Champion is a little larger (100lbs), but they are RV ready, and would be able to power anything I need. I was looking at purchasing a Pursuit 2870 Walkaround, with a tripple axle trailer (about 6,000lbs), but not sure I am ready to tow something that large all the way down to Florida (I have towed my Trophy down to Islamorda Florida since 2003. One recommendation I have, is for you to get a bean bag chair. 12 years ago, i purchased 2 E-Sea Rider (with the arm chair look) and haven't regretted it. I find that even in the roughest weather conditions, I would find my two son's asleep in those beanbag chairs (in the back of the boat).
@OutOnTheReef
@OutOnTheReef 5 лет назад
If you use a 2000 watt generator you're able to run a 5000 or 6000 BTU air conditioning with no problems and you can still use a coffee maker more Powers better especially for me when I'm out there using a lot of power and solar would never do it for me because the AC with drain the batteries quick, and also you can use a small heater to heat up your cabin I like your boat the trophy that's a good book too. Thanks for your great comment

@jamesriddick4022 5 лет назад
Bait Guru, I found a 1996 Trophy 2008 about a year ago. It was a barn find and literally had never been off the trailer. Two hours on the Mercury 150 just from running a water hose on it through the years. We bought the boat to go camping with and are about to start planning some overnight trips. What are your thoughts on the Trophy? Any information is helpful.

Great to see your making the most of a bad deal,stay safe and also excellent to see the boss lady with you hope she enjoyed the trip. One final suggestions, if you put your boat in the water and noticed the weather is much worse than predicted don't feel no weight to change your plans or even cansel the trip always remember safety first. As usual great video keep them coming.
@OutOnTheReef
@OutOnTheReef 5 лет назад
Yes it was good the boss lady was there to enjoy the boat also on the other center console she could not enjoy with me often so now she can and we have to make the trip even if the weather was bad because at work she didn't have vacations again so if we didn't make it she would not be able to go within 6 months but the good thing is coming back the weather is supposed to be good so we only suffer on the way over not in the way back but sometimes you just have to go for it ,now if the weather gets real bad like 25 miles per hour wind I will definitely not go because that's suicidal on a small craft. And even more crazy was me doing my trips on my 19 foot center console with weather this bad in the past

Yes it's very important to make sure the weather is between 0 and 10 miles per hour winds and when you're hitting the wind head-on is the worst so if you can go with the wind is a lot better for your right, Hope you can make it one day you will love it

Looks like you need spray rails to shoot the water away from boat. People usually put them on in the wrong place. You have to see where the wet spray that hits windshield is coming from and watch the action. Enjoyed the video. Keep em coming.

I see you have both red/blue night time lighting on your boat. Which do you prefer and why? I am refurbishing a 50 year old trawler and my choices are a red/white or a blue/white combination light that will fit my current fixtures. I'm converting everything to LED of course. I would appreciate any recommendations you have. Thanks! Bill
@OutOnTheReef
@OutOnTheReef 5 лет назад
The red light is for navigation that way you can still look outside and a softer on the eyes when it's dark that way you can keep reading your instrument and being the lookout that's why you see a lot of big ships with red lights on their navigation room or pilothouse that is the best light red light
@spinnaker5514
@spinnaker5514 5 лет назад
Thanks I thought the red was best. I was in the U.S. Navy and we always had red lights at night. I just wasn't sure if the blue was something new and better. And couldn't really find anything saying one was better than the other the one thing I did find was saying it was personal preference. Thanks again!

just a little advice to tell your lady friend she needs to be sitting looking forward in the passenger seat it will prevent seasickness..if the water temperature is warm and you are able to jump in the water it will cure seasickness immediately.but the best way is to take some medication the day before or wear the seasickness patch.. hope this helps...
