Crosswind landing of a Boeing 777 of Emirates at Düsseldorf last month. I visited DUS Airport a few times in january because it was quite stormy. In this video you can see the footage from three visits. Everytime it was quite windy and the pilots had to deal with southern crosswinds with wind speeds up to 30 knots. The wind wasn`t that strong this but the B777 in the first clip had to deal with a strong wind gust. That` s why it was a bit wobbly and the pilots used the rudder to align with the runway shortly priot touchdown.
The second jet in this video, an Airbus A321 Neo of Turkish Airlines also had some issues with wind gusts. The plane was floating over the runway and I thought the pilots would initiate a go around. The Go around happened about an hour later when an Airbus A319 of Eurowings was approaching runway 23L at Düsseldorf. The wind gusts were getting to strong during a rain shower and that` s why the crew needed two attempts to land the Airbus.
