"I sure would love to see if it shows up on GSN in the future." Funny you should mention that. GSN will show a couple eps on Sunday Oct 26 as part of its rarities series. "Wow! A female announcer!! :) That's rare! " Her name was Michelle Roth. She did a little acting in the 1980s, according to her IMDb page.

I wonder what David Sparks is up to now. His last game show gig was hosting All About the Opposite Sex back in 1990. Michelle Roth retired from radio in 2005 and got a job as a physical therapist or something. But is still a fill-in DJ on KLUV

If I Hosted Crosswits, I would bring back the 1986 Theme Song, I would Add More Categories to the Crosswits Puzzles, and I would even have Returning Champions.

If the show is revived, the revival would be as follows: 1. The host would be Judah Friedlander of 30 Rock fame. 2. The announcer would be Bob Picozzi. 3. The show would be taped at Sunset Las Palmas Studios (formerly Hollywood Center Studios and General Service Studios). 4. The show would have a battle-of-the-sexes format with one male team (two male celebrities and one male contestant) against one female team (two female celebrities and one female contestant). 5. The revival would have returning champions, which means that champions could stay on the show until they are defeated, with a car awarded for every five wins (in the 1975-80 and 1986-87 versions, two new civilian contestants appeared on each episode). 6. The show would be the same as in previous incarnations, but with a twist (first round worth $100 per letter and $250 for solving the puzzle, second round worth $250 per letter and $500 for solving the puzzle, third and final round worth $500 and $1,000 for solving the puzzle). 7. A 5-second time limit for celebrities to answer and a 3-second time limit for contestants to answer. 8. A 10-second conference is allowed in each round before solving the puzzle. 9. The contestant with the most money at the end of the third round is the champion and receives a prize package worth over $5,000. 10. If there’s a tie after three rounds, a fourth round is played where the words are automatically filled in; a correct solution wins the game while an incorrect solution automatically gives the game to his/her opponent. 11. The Crossfire Round would be the same as the 1975-80 and 1986-87 versions, but with the champion choosing one of only two celebrities the champion partnered with to help, $500 awarded for every correct answer and a jackpot that starts at $10,000 and grows by $5,000 until won awarded to the champion who solves all 10 words before 60 seconds expire. 12. The revival would have a production team led by executive producers Ginger Simpson, Amanda Zucker, David Scott (no relation to the WDRB anchor of the same name) and Seth MacFarlane, supervising producer Gary Johnson, producers Melissa Skirboll and Michaela Conlin, director Alex Rudzinsky, set designers James Yarnell and Andy Walmsley (with art directors David Edwards and Gary Kordan) and a writing team led by Seth MacFarlane and Dave Boone. 13. The show’s music package would be composed by Rachel Bilson, Heidi Newfield and Cyndi Thomson of Luckystar Music.

It just isn't the same without Jack Clark, or the jazzy 7-second "Conference" tune.

? are you asking if she appeared as a guest in any of the episodes? you know she isn't on this episode if you were watching the names come up on the screen. i imagine she made an appearance at some point on this version of the show but I wouldn't know for sure.

I assume that was done just because you never knew when a new viewer would tune in and they'd want to know how the game is played!?

Was Betty White one of the guest celebrities on "Crosswits"?

True, David Sparks was quite personable, but he was no Jack Clark.

I didn't like the board on this version, which was irregularly-shaped (11x9).

Let me guess...the people that "thumbs-downed" me are fans of non-square Crossword puzzles?

If a contestant won the Crossfire round, they could then pick one of the cars. Then they had to pick one of the three celebrities they weren't playing the bonus round. If the celeb they picked had the car they chose in their box in front of them, they won the car. A few times apparently, they had all four celebs holding the box, with one of them holding $1K in cash.
