Crows may not be labelled as birds of prey, but they opportunistically feed on small birds, small rodents and other small creatures. In some cases, crows actively hunt their prey. This is where rabbits come into their diet.

Crows, ravens, parrots and magpies are all part of the Corvid family, and they are VERY intelligent, even by mammal standards. I admire them. But I also hate it when they get bunnies, even though crows have to eat too.

@@bunninsula5849: I agree. My first instinct is to cheer for the bunny to escape. I guess if I was there, I would have chased the crow away from the bunny and made sure the bunny was able to return home. But I really have come to appreciate how incredibly intelligent the crow family is-even seen videos of them solving locking mechanisms. These videos are always hard to watch-the ones where I like both the predator animal and the prey animal.

Mother rabbits usually abandon their young once they are able to feed themselves. I know, I raised rabbits for a long time now. Seldom do they ever remain with their young. Even in the wild, if the mother rabbit is around while the young rabbit gets attacked, more than likely the mother will let it be. They sometimes help fend of the predators, but it's rarely a success. Sad but true, rabbits only purpose in life is to be prey animals.

In nature there are no victims
@Mercymurv
@Mercymurv 2 года назад
@@santiagovalencia794 This video, and the uncensored playlist on my RU-vid channel of predators, would both highly disagree. Nature is riddled with victims and unfortunately people who make life too abstract in order to excuse and cope with the constant suffering at hand.
@santiagovalencia794
@santiagovalencia794 2 года назад
@@Mercymurv Suffering does not imply "being a victim", it is only a product of having a nervous system. The more complex the brain and the more nerve endings there are, the greater the suffering. It is the downside of having a brain. On the other hand, victim is a legal term that implies deliberative reason. Because when someone is a "victimizer" it is assumed that he could not harm or act to the detriment of the other, and even so he did. In this case, if the human intervened, he would become the perpetrator. Because suffering goes both ways, either to be killed, or to die of hunger. Did you know that starving to death is one of the worst ways to die? It involves a slow agony. If the human intervenes, he would suffer an animal whose species has the evolutionary strategy of cunningly hunting, for defending an animal whose species has the evolutionary strategy of reproducing a lot and having many exponents. Therefore, the most responsible thing to do is not to intervene.
@Mercymurv
@Mercymurv 2 года назад
@@santiagovalencia794 4% of mammals are wildlife, and the rest are human or human-bred animals. I guess if someone is getting hunted by a predator, the responsible thing to do would be not intervene? Let them get their organs ripped out slowly by the predator, since humans have so much reproduction and "exponents"?
@santiagovalencia794
@santiagovalencia794 2 года назад
@@Mercymurv This percentage is not a reliable indicator of the danger of extinction of mammals, rather it shows the proliferation of domestic animals and the human predilection for domesticating other mammals. Now, I assume that among the species raised by humans you will include the thousands of rabbits that are used as pets and the millions of rabbits raised for domestic consumption and other animals, because those species are the least endangered due to the artificial selection imposed by humans on some animals. Second, you are lying about human overpopulation, in fact human beings are not as prolific or numerous creatures as one might believe. Even by the end of the century there could be a demographic decline for the first time in history, so it is a common site, which denotes a lot of ignorance, to say that there are many humans. That some animals prey on others is not what should be avoided, that has happened before the existence of humanity and occurs in parallel to it. Rabbits don't need to be saved from other predators, they just need humans to stop hunting them for no reason and no longer displacing their homes for crops, that's enough.

Why not protect the bunny from suffering/death? To the people saying mother rabbits offer little to no protection... sometimes mothers are gone looking for food, in shock, or know they cannot win the fight; still there are plenty of videos on RU-vid of mother rabbits defending their babies from predators, so stop assuming the worst of absolute victims. P.S. Please go vegan if you are against animal abuse.
