This song reminds me of when my family and I moved to Australia from El Salvador in 1988. Heard it nearly everyday on the radio the following year and will always be symbolic of my arrival to this beautiful country. Amazing song.

I’ve been listening to Crowded House since 1986. They are awesome. I was lucky to see Neil Finn a few years ago. He played this song at the end of the show. The whole audience sang along. So much emotion.
Patrick Stapleton it sure was and made me cry harder than I have in a while. One of those good cleansing cries where you don't really know why you're crying because you didn't know Paul Hester personally, but after the cry was finished, you felt some sort of relief. Now, a song that can make you do that is truly timeless.
I saw the tribute to Paul when Neil sang this and I still to this day do not know how Neil kept his shit together for that but respect to Neil he got through it and Paul would have been proud❤️❤️❤️

I had just left a very bad situation and came across a man with a guitar busking at 1am. I gave him all my change and asked if he knew any split enz or crowded house. He played this song and I couldn't help but cry. His guitar was beautiful and I hope he gets to where he wants to be.

Most under-rated singers players n writers. Neil Finn the singer was in the band Split Enz till he went out with these guys n just greatest New Zealand Band ever n they're still playing saw em on Austin City Limits n just blew me away. Great is great period.
I just spent six months in a leaky boat lol . This song is from my childhood years and for over twenty years all I had was the tune in my head and no one could pin point it till my manager heard me whistling it and started courus. It was a joyous occasion with beer and buds passed around haha. I never knew the singer was one in the same I only knew Finn as Crouded House. Can you tell me does split endz still get together I heard something on NZ rock station.

Right now I can't think of another band with songs as great and ageless as Crowded House. Been listening since I was a kid (am 32 now) and still get tingles listening to their stuff. Perfection.
I love stumbling across these songs. I remember when they were climbing the charts in the 80s, and although back then it was wall-to-wall hits, Crowded House always stood out to me as a higher level of songwriting. Each song was like a carefully crafted gem.
When I play this song on drums, I always think I'm playing a Ringo part.. He really wears that Ringo influence on his sleeve to full effect on this one. Not only a fantastic song but a truly memorable, lick-perfect performance from Paul. New drummers take note! - RIP Paul.. will always miss you.

One of those amazingly beautiful songs that are so special that they seem to be so simple and yet so emotional. Only remembered it because I was searching through another music app. 13 when first heard and liked it, but now over 30 years on, I absolutely adore the simplicity and harmonies. An all time classic
