I really liked this flashback, not only because of David getting to use his Scottish accent and generally being hilarious, but because it adds context to what went wrong in their arrangement between the 1790s and the 1860s. In season 1, I thought it was a bit jarring that we went from them seemingly being closer than ever in 1793 to being strained to the point of temporarily breaking up in 1862 without anything in between. Clearly Crowley got into a ton of trouble for this, though.

Oh my god this episode makes me laugh every time and I’ve rewatched it multiple times since it came out. I love how extra Scottish Crowley is being. Oh I bet David Tennant had a blast. I don’t know how Michael Sheen kept a straight face

I absolutely love this scene, but right after crying from laughter I always want to actually cry when I remember that bc Crowley saved Elspeth’s life, he was dragged down to hell for more than 30 years, and when he came back up to Earth he had a cane and was asking for holy water for insurance (and I’m not even getting into how Azi initially thought Crowley was asking for a suicide pill) 😭😭😭

Aziraphale and Elspeth expression are absolutely priceless

just how bad has Crowley actually been. All I see and read is Crowley doing things that look bad but if you look closer you will find him still being the Angel he started out to be. He is actually really good. That road building and the cell phone thing just bothered people but did not actually kill anyone. He is using laudanum as an excuse to do a good deed so hell can't blame him for his actions.

fun fact, I don't remember what happened but my mom and I watched season 2 together, but I must have left and missed this episode and we just carried on watching the rest of the show after this, then I went back and watched the ENTIRE season in one sitting with my friends in discord, I decided I was TOO DAMN SAD from the ending that I needed to have one of the pot brownies in the fridge, and it kicked in uhhhh I'd sayyyy right around the start of this episode, so yeah I was high off my ass while crowley was high off his ass, and now this entire episode is burned into my memory in a dizzy state like all of my high memories are :) I was fucking DYING when he shrunk and then grew a LOT cause I was like "hahahaha dude is SO fucked up rn..... damn wait I'm also so fucked up rn"
