About Good Omens Season 1: The End of the World is coming, which means a fussy Angel and a loose-living Demon who’ve become overly fond of life on Earth are forced to form an unlikely alliance to stop Armageddon. I feel like the only times we've seen Crowley smile a truly happy smile since his Fall are with Aziraphale (especially when he does something un-angelic) and when engaging with kids. We'll have to see what happens in S3, but I'm developing this sinking feeling that it will be revealed that his whole existence was basically ripped away from him for absolutely no real reason at all, that it was just wanton, scheming cruelty by other angels. Either way, what a truly bright spirit to hold onto such kindness and strength of character after everything that happened to him, including probably having his memories taken away. Honestly, how do you even move on from not knowing who you are and from literally being rejected from god's love? You were allegedly created for one sole purpose, what do you do when that is gone? Many others would have given up long before he did. I think he got very lucky meeting Aziraphale, a kindred spirit, when he did.

@@ginge641 It is not certain, as it's not explicitly stated, but it seems fairly likely to me based on what we've seen in S2. If you rewatch the scene where Crowley confronts Jim/Gabriel upstairs in the shop, he seems to know quite a bit about what losing your memory feels like. Also, there are multiple occasions in S2 where he fails to recognize various characters who remember him well. I have to admit, on first watch, I thought he was just saying "Oh, I met a lot of people, don't recall you" to annoy them, which would be hilarious. But looking back now, I think it coming up several times is pretty suspicious and possibly setting up something for S3. Clearly he hasn't forgotten everything, but maybe he was able to recover some of his memories, or they altered some of his memories rather than deleting them? I would be perfectly ok with being wrong on this though.

This scene made me realize we've never seen Crowley, on-screen, eat food. We've only ever seen him drink alcohol 🍷 The ending scene of S1 at the Ritz shows plates on both sides, so likely, he does eat food every now and then. He mostly just stares and gazes at Aziraphale happily eating! I wonder if Crowley will ever mention why he doesn't eat, but it's quite cute knowing he's got a fridge full of food for Aziraphale.

@@TenmaStupidity Well, everyone (humans, angels and demons alike) took it as a fact that Job was God's favorite human. This conviction didn't come from nowhere, God must have made her stance known to them. And she definitely was very much involved in the situation we saw on screen, through her bet with Satan - neither the angels nor the demons did make that bet up. Job's family members were used to angels bringing them wine and presumably other things that Job asked God for on regular basis. The angels surely didn't do it just because they felt like it, God must have ordered that. We witnessed God talking to Job, and it's not unlikely that this chat wasn't their first one. But even if they didn't talk that way all the time, there clearly must have been regular communication, at least one-sided - maybe Job just prayed to God and God then sent angels to fulfill his wishes. If God sent her angels to bring Job things he wished for, I think it's safe to assume that God would have fulfilled any other of Job's wishes, either personally or through the angels. If Job for example wanted his first child to be a son who would look like him (so white), he would just need to pray to God about it and his wish would be granted. This to me sounds like the only possible in-universe explanation for how the children looked like, considering all of them are presented as children of the same couple. Otherwise children of both Job and Sitis should all look like their elder daughter did.

It does make sense though. Who else would have tempted Aziraphale to eat? I doubt he would have tried it on his own.

People are saying that if that's how Aziraphale reacted to food, with such gusto and ferocity and excitement, imagine how life is going to be for Crowley when Aziraphale discovers the more scandalous activities Earth has to offer (the answer is Crowley will not be able to walk for a week).

I love how this scene is just the whole "bet" writ small. The angel is allowing the demon to do anything they want. All with the assumption that they won't push things too far. The bet isn't on the kids, but the demon.
