crown vic 5.4 long tube header first run

Starting in 2002 all crown Vics and Marquis got PI heads, so the motor is identical to the mustang. Aside from the intake facing the driver side on the Vic/Marquis, and the mustang facing the passenger side.

I believe in the power and stoutness of the 4R70W, I know it's a great trans, but it's a change of pace in driving style for me as well, I miss banging gears out :( I live in HI and it'd cost a fortune to have a machine shop do the JMOD drilling for me, and too expensive to freight ship it to the mainland to get it done

my buddy dropped a 5.4 into his vic and it only ran a 1/2 sec faster in 1/4 mile at the track

I know this video is old but im looking to put headers on my 1997 grand marquis. I was only gone do the short. Cant find them nowhere to say they are for my car. How do i know if they will fit. I have a 4.6 engine and i was gone order some for a mustang because its the same egine. Just wanna be sure.

Who put a manual transmission in a crown Vic like come on

any transmission from the mustang from 96 to 04 will fit as the bellhousing is the same.I say it is up-graded because the internals are stronger to take some abuse

yuo were correct for the PI heads but both of them were romeo block. mustang got windsor blocr only a few specific years

yeah heads on a 4.6 and 5.4 are almost exactly the same.I 'm going with the TFS 38cc. I should be making a good 300+ at the wheels without much problem

What kind are you thinking? I was leaning towards the TFS, I have seen a writeup from (corral) that looks good about 480 N/A. (have link if want) Also I have a quick question, the heads on the 5.4 and 4.6 are interchangeable correct?

Do you use KYB shocks? I used them on my 2003 grand marquis and a big improvement in handling.also used all moog parts in my front end.

actualy PI heads started in 99 for mustangs and 2001 for crown vic

stainless works long tube header for the 4.6 that I had to modify to fit my 5.4

Did you need to modify the Stainless works headers AT ALL to make them work with this 5.4 swap? i am days away from starting my own 5.4 swap in a 2000 CVPI and want to know what headers will work without modification.
