Crown Victoria Radio Reception Fix Cheap and Easy - Defroster Interference

Ill show you how to fix your Crown Victoria, Grand Marquis and Lincoln Towncar radio reception issue, especially interference caused by your rear window defroster, for under $10.00.
Here is the cheap antenna I used in this video (Amazon Paid Link), which will work excellent for most applications. If you are extremely far from the broadcast sites, you may want to use a more expensive antenna, but for most this will work better than the factory, rear glass antenna.

This problem also occurred on the Lincoln MKZ and MKS, Ford Taurus and Mercury Sable from 2008-2010. Ford TSB 09-19-2.

I just added a after market ext FM radio antenna 5" to my 2005 Ford CV sedan LX sport model. The OEM-Ford antenna cracked off. The Amazon 📻 antenna has copper, copper lined. I haven't seen major improvements in FM signals, AM. Later, I might add a 🛰 Cirrus, sat radio with a 9" monitor, back-up camera. The P74 sedan has dark tints so a back up 📹 will be helpful in urban areas, crowded lots.

I've got 3 whip antennas on the trunk of my Crown Vic, one of them isn't used for anything and is just there for the sake of visual symmetry. I think I'll hook it up the FM radio now. It is a UHF band antenna but it is 5/8 wave so it should be long enough for FM radio.

3/32 allen wrenches will substitute for the radio removal tool. If you're like me and have too many allen wrench sets, should be no problem.

Would be neat to have the AM radio side sound like the radios did like 40 years ago. I heard the Kenwood Exelon KMM X705 is a good choice. Anyone ever he ad one of these?

Hi, what if the radio gets static with the heater /ac fan blowing? The faster the blower, the more static. Thanks!

After having my rear window tinted in my Marauder it doesn’t receive AM any more but FM works fine. Any ideas ?

Did you use metallic tint? If so, it's interfering.
