A.....always good on Carnival, Norwegian, Royal Caribbean and Celebrity.....but the room steward told me that he had to clean 33 state rooms when I was on the Venezia a few months ago!!

A. We have never had any issues with cleanliness in our cruise cabins, and we have been fortunate to have had wonderful , friendly & accomodating cabin stewards on every cruise. I have heard of others having issues with sub-par cabin stewards, but fortunately, we have never had a single complaint.

I don’t have a problem with housekeeping being reduced to one day, but I have a problem with is letting go of 500 people in an effort to save money but then they raise the price of the cruises. I love cruising I love cruising way too much but they’re starting to make me look at land vacations because of the greed and I hope that they’re paying attention to what we are saying.

Companies expand and contract employees all the time. We don't know how many jobs were reduced thru attrition or if they were superfluous to the quality of the cruise.

A - always good. I was on a Carnival cruise where I overheard them talking about how they had more rooms per person now due to cuts but they always gave 110% percent. I would love to see them add more house keeping jobs and lower wages/cut an exec or 2. The people who take care of us on our voyage need the money more than the executives do!

We are very friendly with staff and they are friendly with us .we try to keep our cabin neat as much as we can and it shows by the way they we are treated with the extra touches .i asked for ice only once and from then on it was brought every day. My cabin is always clean and i thank them by leaving a extra tip on the last day.

It used to always be A, but when Royal cut services and expanded the number of cabins, services have become sporadic.

C, Especially 0n Norwegian. Was on the Breakaway Mediterranean Cruise last year with clients and had constantly ask for towels ,washcloths. One client didn't have any sheets on their bed. Cutting staff is not the answer

If you travel get ins, especially if you are elderly, overweight, have health issues, children, or take risks. Healthcare in other countries is no joke.

A: I have not had a bad experience with housekeeping. My last NCL cruise in Oct, my room steward was wonderful. I asked him to only come every other day, but every single day, he stopped by to ask if I needed anything. And every time I passed him in the hallway, he would again ask if I needed anything.

Last fall on NCL Jewel, my cabin cleaning was pretty bad. That’s the first time I’ve ever gone to guests services to complain and I’m not an overly fussy person. The room steward was never around and I also had no sink plug and a shampoo dispenser that fell off the wall. That ship needs refurbishing. And NCL’s cuts to their entertainment budget left a lot of unhappy people on that ship. They showed movies in the theatre a couple of night, even the same one on two nights.

A for me. My cabin has always been clean and I have never had any problems with house keeping.

When just got off our second Norwegian cruise and we definitely noticed the decline in our room service. We miss the the evening turn down service and the fun towel animals, but that was secondary to the room upkeep. One day my husband got a bloody nose so we put the towel on the floor under the sink as that is the usual way to let them know to change out a towel if needed. It was left there! We were given a clean one to replace it but .... really? We had to ask to have it removed. On another day we left the room early, turned on the tend room sign and we were gone until late afternoon. The room steward never made it to our room that day at all. We gave them grace because we thought NCL was struggling to hire enough people, but to know they had them and then fired them is a whole different story. If I had known that at the time we would have absolutely given them an unacceptable score. I hate to punish the room stewards themselves though, because it isn't their fault they cut the staff back so much, but NCL needs to know the decrease in service all over the ship has definitely been noticed.

When Biden became President he Ban on Oil,Gas and Coal prices went up and everthing comes on a truck and Cruise ships use a huge amount of oil this is what happens also they want make up for covid shut down....and greed as well

B. Honestly, we do not need our cabin cleaned every day. Maybe just some fresh towels. A few times we’ve had very clean rooms, others we would have to call for t p, towels, or other cleaning. It just depends on the line, staffing, and how messy you are.

A. Always good. I had one experience when they started a charge gratities instead of giving a cash tip. There was an inch of dust on everything and dirty rocks in corners of room. I never saw the room Stewart the whole cruise.

Our room is always great, but my standards aren’t that high. We keep very organized and I always get compliments from the room steward. Our last cruise we were sharing the guy with an older couple that I guess kept a pig pen cause the guy could never get us turned down in time and was always stuck at the same room.

The entertainment on Norwegian Prima was crap. We hate game shows and that was a huge offering. We got bored and ran out of the books we brought. We aren’t encouraged to book them again. We notice the downside of fewer cleaning personnel. We are going back to RC.

Housekeeping has always been great, however NCL entertainment is the worst! They've cut too many production shows in favor of dumb game shows. Some love them I guess but it's a hard no for us. I'd prefer some type of show each evening (like Princess) even if it's as simple as a guest speaker!

Yeah, and not just games shows but games shows you have to pay to play. They also had 4 different daily trivia games and then stuff like karoke every night so your 'entertainment' was provided by fellow guests. The so-called comedian they had on my 11 day cruise was on one day, two shows and he wasn't funny. The bands/musicians were mediore and not varied exept for one hat seemed to have to carry the load of too many shows to make up for a lacking entertainment department. Now on a cruise with exciting ports you don' really need the entertainment, but when you have a couple sea days in a row it becomes really obvious how lame the entertainment is.

NCL obviously didn't read my reviews from our Nov 2023 TA from Rome to NYC on the Breakaway. Or from the 10-day Istanbul to Athens just before the TA. Then there was our 20-day PC repo cruise in May from Miami to Seattle.... Service, food quality, and entertainment were my complaints and I wasn't the only one. ZERO cruises booked on NCL in 2024/2025.

A- always good,everything looks clean and tidy, although on my last 16 days cruise, the shower curtain was never changed. I knew bc it has a makeup stain where I grab to open it. On my next cruise, I'm daring myself to ask if they would change it on request. The same question with the bed linens.

we are experienced ( B and c c). The last cruise on princess we had to ask house keeping to vacuum and when we put towels to be replaced they would just hang them up again.

My room has always been clean. I once stayed on Disney property and there was a washcloth next to the bed. We left it there and housekeeping never moved it. I suppose we could have pointed it out but we were surprised it stayed day after day.

A. We've only ever had a problem once in all the days we've cruised and it was due to staff scrambling for another passenger's emergency. It was not an issue for us and we told our cabin steward just skip us for a day and breathe.

Just back from a cruise on NCL Prima. We hadn't heard until now that NCL had reduced the number of housekeeping staff, but during the cruise noticed that we didn't see as many stewards as normal, and often our room wasn't tidied until late afternoon, even though we left the stateroom by 7 am most days. Also there was no 'turn down' service. We just got the 'Freestyle Daily' left on the bed. Our steward, who did a fantastic job, told us they were responsible for 22 rooms on both sides of the ship. So, if NCL think it hasn't made a noticeable difference, they are kidding themselves. It has!!

Definitely B. I've never had an issue until the cruise this year. Maybe cause my first one after covid. Not sure. Didn't see my cabin steward until 2nd day in the evening. Room was never straightened up. Always had to keep finding anyone for towels. Even gave the guy 30 bucks the night i saw him. Let him know it was my cousins 1st cruise. Was hoping hey more towel animals. Got nothing. Hoping my next RCCL cruise isn't like the last

I cruise NCL and the cabin stewards are worked too hard so we only asked for service/cleaning every other day.

@@lisagardner903 NCL went from 16 rooms pre-pandemic to now having stewards do 22 rooms. The best thing you can do as a passenger is change out your own towels when you see your steward in the hallway once or twice and tell them they can skip your room that day. Giving them a tiny piece of their day back with one less room can really make a difference.

C - rooms always have dirt in the corners, some drawers have grime in them, vent in shower/restroom always has ‘lint’ in them. Otherwise bed, carpet, vanity are clean.

C-improvement is needed. I find dirt everywhere. Last cruise went to sit on the sofa and it had trash and food on it in the cushion. Yuck!!

I was on Carnival Sunshine and I believe the last segment about the emergency was about my trip ! We had to RUSH full speed ahead to the DR and I wondered what had happened. I was terrified for them. We as passengers had no clue ! B - Never go a cruise without misses in the Housekeeping Dept. Except the hand is always out at the end of my stay. That part is always consistant.

B…several times we have found uneaten food in our refrigerator! Have also found items left in bedside tables. IMO the cruise lines have cut back room steward staff and it shows. Too many cabins too few staff🤬

A - I always sail on Princess & their housekeeping services are excellent. Every surface is cleaned, they are respectful of our personal items & the leave fun little notes.

C- we did a cruise recently & even though we still got a turndown service in the evening our bedding was not clean on embarkation. Our quilt & mattress protector was dirty and stained.

It should be noted that although the Carnival Sunshine was an em/debarkation port and it docked steps from downtown Charleston, the City of Charleston had no say so in its operations and the SC Port Authority owns the controlled the pier, etc. Charleston couldn’t even say no cruise ships. The Union Pier property where the Sunshine docked has been sold to a private developer. Charleston is thrilled as the pier and property has been a huge issue for years. Yes, I live in downtown Charleston, lol

Can you explain what you mean by the port/property being a problem? I’m not from there and don’t want to make any assumptions, but I know all the friends I have in smaller cruise ports hate them. The main complaint is that it’s too many people vs the space/amenities the towns have. I’m wondering if it’s something similar to that.

I sail on the celebrity cruise ships and the staterooms have always clean.good housekeeping staff.but I will say that there is issues with communication that needs to improve. I will be going on my 5th cruise to Italy,France and Spain in June on a new ship..
