I can’t tell you how much this helped me. I have had decision paralysis about making food budget stretch. This is definitely one I will be using. I made it with leftover ground beef seasoned for tacos. Thank you so very very much ❤❤❤
You are blessed Josephina!! God has given you the superb knowledge and ability to prepare such delicious and wonderful meals!! Thank you for all that you do!!
Looks so good! Although they have nothing to do with homesteading, another cooking channel I love is Views on the Road. They also did a potato video 😄. Their food is serious Mexican home cooking often with their own flair.
Papas con chorizo are in my top 5 taco list. #1: Barbacoa especial (cheek/tongue) #2: Tacos de cachete #3: Probably these papas/chorizo #4: Carnitas 🐖 #5: Asada or Rajas con queso. I would do unspeakable things for each of those, but the easiest ones are the papas con chorizo. (The cheese/pepper tacos are pretty easy too.) I think it's time for me to make my own chorizo.
They’re such a staple Mexican food! Chorizo con papas at any meal in so many different forms! I hope you try it out and love it! So simple and inexpensive but tastes glorious.
I love your enthusiasm! I'm halfway through the recipe. Can I refrigerate the potato chorizo mixture to use later? If so do I need to heat it up before assembling the taco and frying? Thank you!
You absolutely can! I’ve done it plenty of times! You can leave it cold or even let it get to room temperature (if you take it out and forget it like me🫣) it makes it easier to hold together inside during the frying process.
Yum 😁. I failed at growing tomatillos last year so this year I started a few more plants which are growing great but are full with tons of fruit already. Can you do a video or direct me to some recipes to use them in? I have eaten them in salsa verde but have never made it myself. Any other suggestions would also be greatley appreciated. Thanks from Sweden
Have you seen my chilaquiles video? The salsa in that can be used for more than just chilaquiles and is made using tomatillos. It can be used as a salsa to put on anything or just eat with chips. I am definitely going to have tomatillo recipes coming in as soon as my plants are ready to harvest from♥️
No I don't think I have seen that video. Will check it out now. Thanks for answering so fast. I can't wait for your videos you are an inspiration. Have a great weekend.
I got it from a local woman here in SC. Her husband goes to Mexico buys pottery by the trailer full then sells it in a little shop in their front yard.
Hey there! Are there any "good quality" corn or flour tortillas that can be found in any grocery store? Or is this something you have to get homemade? Thank you.
Hi! I’ve actually got a whole video about tortillas and my favorites! Links are in the description box of that video😊 Tortilla 101 || All about TORTILLAS || Kitchen Vlog ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-pmilobahCsY.html
I can't have chorizo anymore but would I be able to do this with canned beans and potato or refried beans and potato? This looks absolutely delicious! Thank you for sharing. ~Jamie
Yes! I do just seasoned potatoes sometimes, or potatoes that are sautéed with onion, tomato and jalapeño (same method of cooking like in this video). I’ve done just refried beans too. I’d you can do cheese, cheese and beans are one of my kids favorites!
@@soilandsazon I'll definitely try vegan cheese or I've even made vegan queso years ago. Need to find that recipe cuz that should be amazing with this. Funny how we can grow up eating everything then become allergic to it. That's why I'm vegan now, but I love recreating recipes with slightly modified options. I'm DEFINITELY going to be making these. Thank you again for sharing.
its official im booking my ticket now and buying your neighbors house, they just dont know it yet😂😂😂 joking, kinda. in all seriousness those look so stinkin good. Did you use yukons potatoes?
I was just kind of curious where you people from you keep calling those tacos but I know for a fact about quesadillas... How ever you did a pretty good job congrats
You people? These are tacos dorados not quesadillas. Quesadillas are tortilla with cheese that’s melted inside. Other things can be added, but cheese and tortilla are the main ingredients. Queso means cheese, hence QUESadilla.
