Caden Does Gaming Sadly They don't really ever do that song. I saw them at Youmacon 2015 and they had the exact same set. One of the funnest shows I've ever been to tho.

Ya this was a very bad set up, instead of actually playing live they are singing over the orignal songs. Probably didnt have the best sound set up either for balancing levels. Iv never seen them before dont want to pass judgment but based off of this very weak
Oh yeah I completely agree. Some bands are wayyy better live and some are wayy better on recording. The recordings here on RU-vid are super awesome, but live they sound pretty awful
Third time I've seen them live now and they just get better and better. Still can't get over I got a hug from Jun! They such nice guys and sooo talented! Rock on!
Always wondered if bands this Crush 40 and Jason Paige are disappointed that they’re only success came from soundtracks. Would love to know their thoughts. I absolutely love the Shadow theme!
I would imagine originally but I would imagine they are just happy to have continued success in something they are passionate doing and having adoring fans. As success is hard to achieve in the music industry and continuing success is even harder
Crush 40 were formed for the purpose of making songs for Sonic, so there wasn't really any chance of it going much further. Johnny Gioeli is also the singer of the band Hardline, who are reasonably successful. So he has that to his name as well!
So he was sick that day? Despite that, the show was a blast! It's really hard to do what he did. Doing a show with so many high-pitched songs in his hard rock/metal style and in his age is hard enough, but you gotta be extra careful when choosing where you'll put your energy. If you do it wrong, you'll lose your voice in the middle of the show. Such a talented musician, Johnny.

"Jun Senoue sings in playback", if you're referring to the backing vocals that are in the backing track... Those are all Johnny, not Jun, which is precisely why they're in the backing track, Johnny doesn't have two mouths :P
I know Live and Learn is like the most popular Crush 40 song ever but I really think they should play Sonic Youth as their last song for every concert :) Guh, Johnny is so great thoigh ^^
Actually, His world was written exclusively, by the two Zebrahead vocalists. Zebrahead also never had their own version on any of their own albums. They recorded 2 versions of the song. One as Zebrahead, and another as "Ali Tabatabaee and Matter Lewis". So 2/3 versions are essentially Zebrahead, and the song was written entirely by vocalists from the band, save for any parts exclusive to crush 40's version. Including the main version used in all promotional materials and trailers. Which was technically Zebrahead.
Was amazing to be there Johnny was not well but gave amazing performance with no sleep and fresh in from Germany. He said to me see you next year. That means Summer of Sonic 2017. :P
It was so cool to see this live, I had the best time ever at SoS. I can see my arm and my face multiple times XD I was at the front and it was really good :D When seeing it live you didn't realise just how tired Johnny sounded :o I hope both him and Jun got some well deserved rest after the performance.
From what I've heard, the 25th Anniversary Party crowd was just as alive and active during the Crush40 performance. The reason why it didn't seem that way from watching the live stream is that they had to cut off the crowd mics because of technical issues.
issues with mic, pretty sure the livestream was going apeshit because of it lol. But i trust you that when What i'm made of came on the crowd literally exploded, and for good reason since that is easily one of Crush 40's best ending songs of all time.
I love it when Johnny always smiling and having grand ol time when it comes these partys and lets the audience sing some parts of their songs I’m telling you the band of crush 40 is a loving rocking friendly band to be around you can’t deny that
If I was at this Sonic show live,I would be rocking hard and singing myself out so loud along with Johnny. I would sing along to Open Your Heart,Sonic Heroes,Sonic Boom,Live & Learn and What I'm Made Of.
I THINK I'M CRYING RIGHT NOW!!!! I'M LIKE THE BIGGEST SONIC FAN IN THE WORLD AND THIS WAS THE MOST BEAUTIFUL THING I WATCHED EVER, my favorite part of the show was when they were singing live and learn and what i'm made of.
I feel like he started off rough what with the having the crowd singing an all, but I gotta say he definitely brought it back with the second half. You can see and hear the transformation the more he gets into it. And given the condition he was in you can see the compassion for this, hear it in this voice. This is incredibly beautiful, no matter how dorky or cringy others may call it. You can tell they truly love what they do, and I love that they love it. Keep on Crush 40 and heres to any and all future sonic games that get to grace their presence with your mighty music. Btw, Team Sonic Racing brought me here as I freaked at hearing their wonderful sound.
Man, if I was one of those girls that was on stage during Live and Learn I would have been rocking out so hard and screaming my lungs out into the mic. They seemed to be a bit nervous and I don't blame them but that's a once in a lifetime chance.
Do you know a pretty cool fun fact between these two. Is that when they’re not touring together. Johnny is usually with hard line One of my favorite bands And Jun is usually with jam project. One of my favorite anime music groups of all time. So in someways, crush 40 is kind of a super group. But like on an international level. which is pretty fucking cool!
They are so good live, and so fun to watch. And the reason I love them so much (aside from their face melting kick ass music) is the fact that even at these kinds of events, and even when Johnny is under the weather, these guys obviously have so much fun and get so much joy from entertaining their fans. How often do you see that kind of dedication?
The vocalist definitely listened to Boston growing up and it's shows! 34 year old sonic fan here! Always loved crush 40, hearing this gives me the warm fuzzies right in the nostalgia 😊
Now what you don't see in this video is before johnny does that vocal test behind this videos title card, is him and Jun crawling in slow-mo on stage to grab the microphone and then slowly crawl back behind stage. The front few rows just lost it with laughter.

Classic live, and learn was incredible, never forget sonic adventure 2 so legendary. Kids these days just don't know how epic this truly is, was, and still is.

Jun sunoue is honestly so good on the guitar like he's seriously one of the best guitarists I've ever heard. Johnny gioeli is a great entertainer. I love how he sings these songs. I sing it like that too sometimes😂. Give me the mic live and learn. Bro I want to meet this band so much man.
