As a KID and Caro-Kann player I tried the Gurgenidze at a 1500-1600 level and found that it brings to super interesting games and positions, but you really have to understand the idea behind it, which I didn't find so easy. It's similar to the Du Chattel "universal system" playable with white as well. Maybe Danya you could talk about his system sometimes? I would love to know your opinion. There is also a GM called Duncan Suttles who played with this unique style.

Good video on how to crush… 5.e5. Seems Black should instead keep center closed with 5.f6, and only then follow up with e5, constructing a center duo (just as often done against the f3 “fantasy variation” in the Caro-Kan defense). Granted White’s still better as has more space & King side attacking prospects with Qd2 or h4, but those attacks will take time which Black can use to develop sensibly.

great video as always but one feedback i'd give is that sometimes multiple cuts in rapid succession such as at the start of the video can be pretty jarring, i think most people would be willing to wait 4 seconds for the opponent to make his first move. If you need to cut perhaps it would be better to cut to a few seconds before the explanation/talking/sounds start so its less jarring. Other than that this was one of the best speedrun vidoes and i hope we get more such games in the future

@nimzodorf
@nimzodorf Год назад
You start with d4 and you are refusing go into the most testing line in history, the Queen's Gambit, I mean the Jobava is okay, but it's really for experienced players that know their weakness, for a beginner/intermediate is a terrible opening.
@rushadsattar2256
@rushadsattar2256 Год назад
@@nimzodorf I don’t agree, the Jobava is certainly very viable at all levels. I also don’t see the reason for going into ‘testing’ lines for intermediate/beginner players, not just because of long theory, but the general ideas of the position which become a bit complex and nuanced.
@hellothereuser1878
@hellothereuser1878 Год назад
@@nimzodorf simply saying that c4 is impossible and not mentioning the benefits of the jobava makes your argument look very one sided
@nimzodorf
@nimzodorf Год назад
@@rushadsattar2256 Viable doesn't mean it's actually beneficial for your chess, there is a reason you shouldn't play the scandinavian as a beginner it gives you bad habits on opening fundamentals while being viable at most levels except elites, the Jobava London is doing the same, while it's viable you are playing a very anti positional opening, dont quote it from me, I am pretty sure Naroditsky said it a year ago before doing his course. Objectively the queens gambit teaches you a lot about Chess and Chess structures, the Jobava and the london is the same structure will not help your chess improvement in the long run, also about "testing" you are not playing against Topalov on the beginner/intermediate levels, you are most likely not going to get theoretical moves and that's even better because you learn what to do instead of blinding just doing the same moves like the London. I am not stopping anyone if you like the Jobava and have fun play it (even I suffer from the same sin playing Kalashnikov from time to time), but it's not an excellent opening, specially for beginners/intermediates.
@nimzodorf
@nimzodorf Год назад
@@hellothereuser1878 The jobava has some benefits, that you are most likely more prepared than your opponent, you will get good double edge positions (hell even Kasparov lost against it), but thats about it then again you are not learning Chess just the Jobava, since its the same structure do you know how to play against an IQP, or hanging pawns, in tournaments you are begging to be a victim of dynamics moves that you will most likely lose because you play the jobava only, in addition you are not contesting the center, and for me that's a cardinal sin to teach a beginner/intermediate and say yea, that's okay to not fight for the center. That's why no beginner is playing hyper modern opening, not saying the Jobava is bad, but you have to walk before you run you know?
