I came for the instructive chess, I stayed for the masterclass in knight puns. “We’re going to hold our horses.” “Not going to beat a dead horse.” Truly incredible stuff.
@WorldOfDeepThought I play Nf6 to provoke e5. Then I return with Ng8 so my light square bishop can go to f5. I know this is definitely wrong but I'm always afraid to trap my bishop like in the french. So I give up some tempo hoping to get a similar structure to the exchange or advanced variation
Danya, thanks for your videos. They have helped me find peace in my life. If I had your ability to explain myself like you explain chess maybe my wife wouldn't have left me for Sergei. Since watching your videos I've found a new job, am in the best shape of my life, reconnected with my daughter who wanted nothing to do with me because my rating was so low, and joined a community of men whose main goal is to come up with strategic ways to get their partners back from Eastern European plumbers. You are a god send Danya. I owe it all to you.
Good luck on your journey Jonathan, as I have prior experience with similar situations I can tell you that a 2000 Elo in Blitz should be sufficient to get your wife and accordingly also your old life back!
Been watching the speed runs for a few years now. Somehow this was one of the best and most instructive videos you've ever made. Loved it. FYI I am making PGNs out of ALL of you beautiful opening analysis in this speed run! Happy to share with you once it's all said and done! Thanks for all you do
Love learning the Fantasy. Always seems to lead to great attacking positions. I had fantastic one in a game after watching these videos but missed the key knockout 😂🤦♂️. I really like the tip Danya mentioned before about every time a pawn moves it weakens another square. I always look for that now and helps.
Hi Sensei Danya, thanks for continuing to upload all the time. I hit 1200 bullet and broke 1350 rapid recently. Huge progress the past year and I owe a lot of it to you!
It's been a joy watching you discover and embrace your passion for teaching! Your videos have not only made me a better chess player, but your positivity and kindness inspire me to make better content myself! THANK YOUUUUUUU!
33:12 without White's Knight on f3 already, the b4 recommendation is completely losing for white. Precisely due to Black's Knight sac on b4 that you specifically said was nothing. That's a long enough line to where White's Knight on f3 ultimately saves the day, that you definitely should have covered it at this level. Especially explaining why Black's strongest engine move of that Black Knight sac would be the follow-up and absolutely brutal in any other circumstance.
Fantastic content. Is it possible to make a playlist of different openings? It would be super convenient to roam around the old videos of the same openings.
Very proud that I thought of Rf6 during the game ahead of Nf6+! Just looks so nasty. (Having checked with the computer: I didn't see the follow up lines... Absolutely disgustingly insane attack. Need to spend a few more decades on tactics to calculate that properly 😂)
If it's not too much trouble, for future videos would you mind posting the PGN in the video description (with all your analysis moves)? I think that would be super helpful
The light square bishop trade in the opening is inspiring. I thought the it's the good bishop for white because white's pawn was fixed on the dark square ...
Ive recently really gotten in to watching Naroditsky , my favorite chess channel now, and i wanted to try to catch a twitch stream. When does he usually stream?
Thank you for sticking with the Speedrun even though you are feeling sick, when I have a cold I barely have the energy to do anything. I hope you feel better soon!!
@@kurosakiichigo7475 he said: "it's checkmate in 2, there's no way to stop mate" It's implied that it's unavoidable mate in 2. I wrote that comment because it was funny that the engine gave such a long forced mate, in 25.
Yeah, I noticed that move as well. It's a top engine move, but it takes Stockfish 11 on lichess a while to find it (depth 32 is when the engine evaluates it as best). Before depth 31, the engine doesn't like it. It's funny how humans can spot these ideas quicker than some engines.
He's talking about it in the context of moving his queen away (11:41, 14:03), which allows black Qxd4. If white's queen was still on d3 when Qxd4, white just takes back Qxd4 and is up a queen.
Hey, ive been watching your twitch and youtube for a bit, currently i'm watching at 14:55, i was wondering, you said there were two candidates for the move between the queen and the rook, but i was wondering what if you just go knight to h7? im not a great player, so im just trying to understand a bit more. Is it because it blocks your own pieces from pressuring the king since you are so close to checkmate at this point?
