excelent to see you on a chopped rigid bike. Great difference between this and your CVO. I'm riding now for nearly 20 years on a shovelhead home made rigid bobber. Kick only and no turnsignals, speedo etc. I love it! Cheers from France

Thing is a bar hopper. Not good for long distance. It’s going to kick your ass on a tour. Should be fun to watch. Love your persistence. Stay safe.

You get used to the narrow handlebars. They don't seem so bad. Wait till you get back on a regular bike you'll be shocked how nice that feels. Also you have extended forks. The rake is stock. It is not "raked" (Which refers to the neck) ..... vast difference

It’s a swingarm chopper, happens to be rigid chopper because of the rigid struts vs a full rigid frame. Just happens to be Sportster vs other swingarm Harley models. Could be a swingarm chopper with shocks on it too, so it doesn’t kill your back. All the other modifications/removed parts makes it a chopper. The Sportster you’re riding, I’m referring to.

I think the motorcycle shop rented you the bike with the fewest parts to break.

You can filter (or lane split) in the U.K., no indicators 👍, no mirrors 👍, but you’ll need a speedo to stay legal (a phone app might be ok). To be honest though I wouldn’t worry because you’ll die of hyperthermia before too long. Seriously mate watch your back and stay safe, the cold can affect you without you realising. MOT - a vehicle needs an MOT after 3 years of being made. Up to the age of 40 years. After 40 years, a vehicle does not need an MOT but you can take it for one if you wish. Mirrors - a vehicle does not need to have mirrors. The deciding factor is if the vehicle SHOULD have mirrors. So if you remove the mirrors, there will be mounts that show mirrors are missing and its an MOT fail. If you remove the mirror mounts, then there is in effect nothing missing so it doesnt need mirrors. Indicators - a vehicle does not have to have indicators as the driver/rider has to perform hand signals instead if no indicators fitted.

You can always use your phone as a mirror Danny !!
