One of the most beautiful songs of all time. These guys harmonized like nobody ever has or ever will. I'm a gospel singer and what they do is not the kind of harmony I've ever sung, it's something totally unique. I've tried singing along and doing both parts and it's really hard because it's so subtle and both of them had such beautiful voices individually that you can't sing along with one and tune out the other. Phil Everly the younger brother recently passed on at the age of 74. Heaven has a new soloist in the their choir.

Now its my favorite since the passing of Phil, poor Don he must feel Lost like Barry Gibb who lost all of his brothers. Its harder when you were a duo, and one dies. The Everly Brothers, The righteous Brothers who were not real brothers. but a great duo. Sony and Cher, but my favorite duo was the Everly Brothers. out of all of the duos they had the Best Harmony.

when I was 4 and 5 years old my parents had a old RCA Victor 45 RPM record player and about a hundred records this was one of those records. I'm 62 years old now I've been a lifelong musician and singer and I haven't heard this song since I was 4 and 5 years old but it was one of my favorites and still is! and one of my favorite singers Linda Ronstadt said she grew up listening to the Everly Brothers I'm thinking they were the best harmonizers and she said that too.!

What a beautiful song. Always one of my favs.I used to listen to them 50 yrs ago on KMA (Earl May) and KNRF (Frank Field) (am) radio in Shenandoah, Iowa where they first started out selling garden seeds and performing on those tiny radio stages. Just the lung power to do their music is incredible, their parents pushed them very hard to succeed, and I guess they did. There will never be another E bros with the passing of Phil, but we have their great records. Thanks for posting.

I worked with my dad from the age of 13 up until he handed me the business when I was 20 ( roofing trade ) he’s 70 now and I am 27 he has dementia my fondest memories was working together and having him play all his 60s songs and rock and roll I now listen to them all on cd in my van from job to job and makes me smile and feel he is with me I miss that man so much it hurts. Even though he doesn’t know me anymore his love and caring ways will always be with me in my heart I love you so much dad “ I’ll never let you see the way my broken heart is hurtin me”

My grandpa just died today (7/30/20) and the last movie i watched before he died was called Flipped. I rewatched it again just cause i missed him so much. I had rewatched the movie various times before he died. And this only time, i hear this song, his favorite song playing in the background.

I kind of like the A-ha version better. It's more somber. This has sad lyrics but has upbeat tempo. Doesn't make sense. A-ha NAILED it. Like always. I do, however respect this version and I'm so thankful for it. Much love.

This was played at my buddys funeral in 2015. What makes it special to me is he played rhythm guitar way way back in 59 and the young lead guitarist he played with became great friends with the Everleys and has backed them on stage playing this .His name is Albert Lee.
