Crysis 3 Triple Trailer Reaction - Gameplay, Nanosuit and CryEngine 3 Tech Trailer 

Crysis is famous in the gaming community for being a graphical landmark. When the games came out, only top of the line PCs could run it on high settings, so came the famous phrase "but can it run Crysis?"

IMO Crysis 2's trailer was the superior Nanosuit trailer, since it actually shows the functions better than Crysis 3's trailer did

Oh wow, this takes me to a nostalgia ride. I still remember the joke "Your PC is great, but can it run Crysis full HD?". This game was the most stunning in graphic back in the day, and my PC still can't run it all right on graphic setting. Dang.

Crysis is Such a Underrated Game Series but i Really Enjoy it!

Crysis 2 had one of the best intro cinematics of all time. It looks incredible and state of the art even 10 years later. Should check it out. It also gives you some idea as to the capabilities of the Nano suit, how it turns the wearer into a one-man-army

the Crysis games are mostly known for the tech that their engine "Cry-engine" pioneered. They did crazy stuff years before everyone else did. That is what the big deal was all about, the jaw-dropping visuals. The game is almost 10 YEARS OLD, and it still looks good, which is really impressive. The games arent fantastic, but they sure did look 10 years ahead of the competition. Which helped pave the road for other developers and game tech in general

The toad thing is just them showing off. Making a convincing bumpy thing inside a game is kind of hard when your limited on workload. Crytek is mainly a game engine developer so this kind of shows whats possible with CryEngine 3 which is known for being very pretty but very hard to work with.

The first Crysis is still one of the best game stories I ever experienced. I first played it nearly 10 years after release and still struggled with some graphical settings.

Would love to see you guys check out 'Shadow of the Colossus', it's quite a legendary and important game in the history of video games. It was the game that shifted the perception that games are just stupid toys for kids to play with, and that they could be something more important. It was the game that started the debate "can video games be art?. Shadow of the colossus got a fantastic remake in 2018, and there are some really cool short videos/trailers where the devs talk about remaking this legendary game and the immense responsibility they had on their shoulders. Theres also a comparison trailer, comparing shots between the original and the remake. I think these vids would be perfect. Shadow of the Colossus is part of a trilogy of sorts, consisting of 'ICO' 'Shadow of the Colossus' and 'The Last Guardian'. Definitely worth taking a look at em.

I worked with Cryengine 5 (the later version of the game engine shown here made by the same developer) and I have to say, a lot of people tend to undersell the importance of the Crysis series and Crytek in general, calling their games "fancy tech-demos for their new engines" and the running joke of "but can it run Crysis?" Every game those guys make is not just a showcase of their fancy engine's capabilities, it's a talented showcase of those amazing capabilities, if you watch trailers, or better yet, just regular gameplay footages of the first Crysis that came out in 2007, and put it in the context of the time you'll understand just how mind blowing this technology and the team working with it really are. "Hunt: Showdown" and "Crysis remastered" will show exactly just how far their engines can go with their current technology.

That Toad tech was top notch back in 2013 and still holds up

The in-game description if I remember said that the pull back strength with the bow because of the suit was enough to take down a fully grown rhino

To answer your Toad question. No not really. But you can use the Toads as weapons. One of the features of the suit is Maximum Strength allowing you to pick up and throw toads at ludicrous speeds killing enemies from the force of the poor amphibian

The Crytek graphic engine was phenomenal back in the day

I still remember when I first play this game in 2013 when I was 12, on my xbox 360 and that multiplayer was fun.

To sum up the Crysis story/setting, the Ceph aliens (short for Cephopods) are an ancient race of beings who landed on earth before mankind evolved, perhaps even before primates. They lived underneath the ocean lying dormant before being awakened in Crysis 1 by North Korean military forces on the Lianshang Islands. The nanosuit is based on Ceph tech from the real life Tunguska Event that enhances physical properties including long lasting life as well as your usual super powers. The Nanosuit can even copy a person's consciousness, which is why Prophet from Crysis 1 returns in 3 even though he died in 2. The suit is also connected to the Ceph collective which is why it can affect its users in the same way. Humanity still exists and thrives in Crysis 3, the Liberty Dome is a remnant of Crysis 2's invasion after the Ceph were contained inside. It's to keep them in, not to keep them out. The Ceph are very interesting since they are jelly octopus like creatures who use combat suits to move around and implant themselves in their tanks. All the enemies you fight in game are 100% organic. Think of it as war ready segways or scooters for human beings. Another creepy idea is that it's technically their planet first. They've lived here longer, potentially had their own civilization, but had to escape the Ice Age. They see humanity as a threat to their existence and planet, and in a way they're right. The Liberty Dome only becomes so ripe with vegetation because of Ceph influence. If that wasn't enough, there is a credible real life theory that octopuses and other cepholopods are aliens who arrived through meteorites considering their hyper intelligence and odd anatomy. Maybe the Ceph are real and waiting for the right moment...

I liked Crysis games. Especially the Armor mode and Strength mode in it. Armor mode makes it absorb all kinds of kinetic forces. Including heat, radiation, and energy. It makes the wearer almost invulnerable to most lethal damage. Strength mode, enhances the user's strength to a superhuman level. Making the wearer able to rip off a minigun from a vehicle. Just like how you do at the start of Fallout 4 with the power armor lol. Of course you can have narcotics injected into your blood stream and become more muscular than the Rock. But as a human you are still limited because of the flesh and bones. But here comes my favorite part they don't really mention for some reason. Or maybe i just missed it. You can see it all over the suit tho. For those that does not know. Carbon Fiber is 3 times stronger than steel. And way lighter than steel. Its actually extremely resistant to heat and chemical abrasion. But the suit is made of something even better. Carbon Fiber is an amazing asset for artificial muscles and scientific things. And i know some of the people might say "They didn't say Carbon Fiber" They never reveal their secrets silly! But hear me out. Its called Graphene, and Graphene is Pure Carbon. Its tougher than diamond. And can be rolled just like a paper, Basically its a one-atom thick sheet of carbon. Arranged in a repeating hexane pattern. Graphene can be rolled up into Carbon Nanotubes. It becomes way stronger. And then its spun together and woven into fiber, And this is 100 times stronger than steel of the same diameter. And way lighter. I hope that is enough information... Crisis 2 is certainly one of my favourite games of all time. A dead man (Prophet) who has his psyche ingrained into a suit carrying yet another dead Force Recon Marine (Alcatraz) and the two of them working together almost as puppets of the suit. Terribly tragic and heroic at the same time.

I'm glad you react to Crysis, but I'm confused why you started at the third game? In Crysis you are wearing a Nanosuit which gives you many abilities like armor, invisibility, enhanced strength and speed. The Nanosuit also bonds with its wearer which has some side effects that I won't explain because of spoilers. The main antagonists in Crysis are the Ceph, aliens on which's technology the Nanosuit is actually based on. You also fight against different factions of humans in the games. I personally love the all Crysis games, with the first and third being my favorites. Crysis 2 is the weakest game in the series which doesn't make it a bad game by any means though. And Crysis Warhead is a spin-off to the first game. Every Crysis game except Warhead got a Remaster to make it avaliable on modern consoles and add Raytracing on PC. The toads have no meaning, except that in the first game you can pick up frogs and throw them. Also, a fourth Crysis game has been announced, so you can watch the teaser if you want. I was on consoles when crysis released, but a few years later I built a mid range gaming PC and played it. The graphics were great, but the explosion of a ship you see in the distance from the lower deck of the ship your on towards the end of the game was a wow moment. Haha The tank battle was an awesome set peice. It blew away killzone 2 which looked great at the time.

Just to sort of explain the plot of the series. First game you're apart of a special team sent to rescue scientists researching aliens but the island they're researching is being sieged by North Korea. Second game aliens attack New York and you're a soldier given a second chance to take on the aliens. The third the aliens control the city and you fight them off. Each game the suit gets an upgrade to it's existing toolset before which is why it looks a little different each time. The gameplay has changed a lot over time to. The first is basically a semi-realistic shooter with Predator equipment in a super open level to level based world. Second is more like CoD with powers and no semi open levels. The third is a bit of a halfway point between them leaning more towards the second but still good.

The Crysis engine is notorious for being only able to run on hardware that was cutting edge and being essentially future proof. The first game took 12 years before a PC came out that could run it with everything on at 60fps consistent. The Ceph are aliens, and in the third game the humans are so desperate they start trying to upgrade human tech with Ceph tech, which is definitely a risky idea. The first game has 100% people built suits that are still super badass, and effectively you choose how you want to run missions, and the AI was very advanced for its time as well.

He isn't a robot, more like a cyborg, the Nanosuit what our protagonist wear is a combat protective suit with nanobots running trough it, those little things make sure you can be invisible, armored, powerfull, the suit is fully self-aware yet can't act on its own, the suit and the operator form a symbiotic relationship, means both mentally and physicly form a bond, in other words the suit and the skin of the operator grows together and becomes a second skin, this essentially takes away the need to eat, drink, sleep and....urinate, the suit can sustain the operator's body with more than sufficient amount of nutritiens, the suit also can create energy from almost anything, if not literally anything. These operator called post-human warriors in some cases, since its easily outclass any and all human made robot or human combatants. Back to the functions, its also can hack and have a literally unbrokeable firewall, means Nanosuits can't be hacked, but its can be "distorted" from EMP or jamming modules, EMP even can cause the suit to send the operator into a manually inducted coma to preserve them until the suit reboots and restarts, so even EMP's is a temporary solution. The Nanosuit even can bring back a dead operator to life. Also please do this with the Crysis 1, 2 trailers too!

I’m glad you guys are diving into the franchise, I recommend you watch some of the Crysis 2 trailers as they have a better introduction to the storyline and world to Crysis. If you guys have time, you should try the Crysis 2 nano suit trailer. It's far better about showing the armor abilities from Maximum armor to Maximum power and cloak. Not to mention it's action packed.

Have never actually played any Crysis (beyond maybe a smidgen of the first at a friend's in highschool), but the games definitely do look cool. You should watch some of the stuff for Crysis 2. I think it showcased the suit a bit better in those trailers as Crysis 3 definitely marketed more towards the already established fan base.

CryEngine is what the studio is known for, the games themselves are a bit generic and sort of lost their way after the second game, they were really known for being great benchmarks for testing PC specs, hence the "but can it run Crysis?" meme. These are the the devs of the original Far Cry game who then sold the property to Ubisoft if you couldn't tell by their naming conventions. CRYsis, Far CRY, CRY Engine, CRYtek

You guys should check out the "7 Wonders of Crysis 3" trailers. They're really epic.

I was literally just thinking about suggesting some Crysis videos! If you're willing to watch more, I recommend the "7 wonders of Crysis 3" series (though there are only 6 episodes. There should be a single video of them all together). As others have suggested, some of the Crysis 2 cinematics/trailers are also very good.

“It’s like i am legend but halo version “haha yeah that’s how I would describe this series Yeah so what exactly happened he touch the alien tech and the suit was figuring out what it was and combined it with prophet during prophet exploration from the first,and second game I would recommend play the second one to get the idea what’s going on it’s set in New York you play a guy named Alcatraz who becomes prophet the CELL the company that made your suit who you have to fight against want your suit and well skin you basically your trying to stop the ceph but the CELL trying to stop you and save the world for there own benefits then the third one is also set in New York aftermath where cell have basically become a big monopoly and you and the New York resistance have to fight back but some don’t trust because of the suit however the alien are still around and looking for something I’m going to stop there don’t want to spoil anything for you guys haha sorry if I said to much hope you two enjoy the game and there’s a really cool interesting trailer called The Bureau: XCOM Declassified the trailer is really cool and x-files-ish

I forgot about the Toad tech, got to love a company willing to have a laugh at everything. Loved the all four games Crysis, Crysis Warhead, Crysis 2, Crysis 3. So in the first two you play the same character, a member of an American special force unit sent a South Asian island with highly advanced North Korean Military units and alien ship. From there Things go down hill fast. Some of the unit dies, but for the team leader code name Prophet, and two others named Psycho and the character you Nomad. You then play Psycho is Warhead, then a new character in Crysis 2 named Alcatraz. A force recon Marine sent in to NY city to extract a former Crynet scientist, who had information for the US military about the aliens and they over all plans for the world and what they are doing in New York. Prophet save him when aliens attack the sub he is on. Alcatraz dying from his injuries, wakes up in Prophet's suit with Prophet's body near by. The story goes for there. In the last you play as Prophet, plot points, no I will say how this happens. So have a great day and Stay Safe.

Crysis and especially Crytek with Cryengine was revolutionary at the time and had a huge impact. Crysis 1 came out 2007 and had a remaster which looks even worse and runs worse than the original one lmao. Kinda sad that this studio doesnt exist anymore. Still have some Posters with "Crysis, action made in germany" which is ofc my country lmao. The games looks ultra good and were cinematic as hell, music was also very good from hans zimmer ofc. Wanna replay it soon actually

i wonder if you guys are going to maybe watch Game documentaries, for example Noclips' amazing Half life documentary where they really went into the making of the game and really went into the details on why it had such an impact on the gaming industry. Crisis got really good graphics, unfortunately I never had a PC capable of running their beautiful games, I only played one of their first games, i I remember it was in Korea, like the US sent to north Korea a team to se what was going on(how they thought something was wrong I don't remember), then they found out there was a alien scout force preparing to invade, or something like that, I played like +8 years ago so I don't remember much, it was quite fun to play though,not only you, but some enemies could get invisible too. Also thanks for the videos, they're really help to get the upper hand against boredom when waiting for class! If you can react to Stellaris history trailers videos(better to understand if you watch then in release order. Again thanks for your job!!! 🙃🙂
