I think it was amazing that your phone was still there. Great video - I really enjoyed it - what a beautiful place! Oh and I hate to embarrass you son, but you sure are handsome! 😄 Love, Mom.
I just want to tell you that your videos have inspired me to get out there more and explore! I've been camping a lot this year and after finding your channel over the weekend I went and bought a kayak. Keep up the good work! Your videos are very genuine and it's so refreshing to see a RU-vidr just being themselves and not putting on an act. Subscribed!
That's great Dustin! Yea, I have no desire to put on an act, I'm just me and that's all I can be..... Hope you enjoy your yak and thanks for subbing and watching!
This was by far the BEST edited and produced video you have done thus far. the camera shots were great. I liked how you put the camera in the water to capture yourself swimming around. the quality of the video was great! Crystal clear. The location beautiful! Wow! Great Job!
Thanks Laurie!!!!!! So glad you enjoyed it! I really had a good time making the video and planning all the shots. I was trying to up my underwater filming and I think I learned a few things in this video for sure. Yep, it was a good location, I love clear water.... Love it......
Great adventure Trip !!! I really like that Kaku paddle board I'm glad you were able to do another outdoor adventure and always having a great time. Looking forward to your next video.Have an amazing and Blessed week !!! Danny
Trip, thanks for making these videos. I love to kayak but I am currently unable to go due to being a caretaker for my spouse. Please keep filming your adventures - I get to see awesome places through your lens.
You know it's going to be a good night when you check notifications and see that Trip has posted another awesome adventure! Keep up the great work and God bless!
You are always so adventuresome,,, Your attitude is contagious,,, Thank You for your encouragement in and about`` Getting out there``,,, You always have fun. Your vids show such great camera work. We have fun just tuning in =) Please keep up the awesome work. Your Mom and Dad are amazing !!! God bless us All everyone !!! **cheers** =)
Such an awesome place. That's an all day spot for sure. Beautiful water. The only thing I din't like was the crowd but that will always be a challenge now days. Great video. The quality keeps getting better and better. Keep it up.
Sure was.... Yea, crowds are something you can try to avoid by going on weekdays but it can be tough to do still. A lot of it is RU-vid and social media's fault since people find out about so much cool stuff these days (my fault to lol) Trying to keep stepping it, thanks!
if watch almost every video u have i just bought a kayak and i never thought about kayak camping but im planning trips already your awesome keep up the good work
Sound? ;P... Video..:))) Still way better than watching sitcoms.... And man, what water. Your channel is one my wife and I can watch with our 5 and 7 years old daughters and they think you are alright.... Thank you for keeping it family friendly.
Haha, thanks! I agree, better than TV..... Not many things I love more than clear water..... You're all welcome! I try to keep it clean, I want to inspire everyone to Get Out There!
Another great video.....always make me smile:) Love all the great angles and shots you do.....I can tell how much work you put into it! Beautiful underwater as well! I was out in my kayak today here in the great Pacific Northwest...nothing better! Thanks Trip!
Burnt Sock Lnding to Vernon Wayside...great trip! Ya gotta find someone to shuttle you to Live Oak Landing on your next Holmes Creek adventure. Amazing journey on a great creek.
I would like to do some of the lower Holmes Creek. I like the Mill Lake that I see on Google maps that is just below where Holmes Creek meets the Choctawhatchee.... I might need a boat to explore that part though..... Much more to explore!
Insanely clear water. I read a long time ago that they filmed a lot of segments of the old Johnny Weismueller Tarzan movies in those clear Florida spring rivers.
The water hasn’t really been pretty in several years we’ve had so much rain. Be sure to come back when the water is down. Try Paddling to Spring Run by way of Shell Landing. It’s out in the Chocthachee just south of where Holmes creek runs into the river. Really Beautiful & more private.
Yea I know.... Maybe it'll lighten up with the rain some. Oh yes! I know exactly what you are talking about. I have it all mapped out already, I'm just waiting for the right time to hit it (when I have a couple of days as it's a long upstream paddle there and back) Can't wait to hit it!
really good job on your videos, thank you for the knowledge u share on every single one of ur videos, kayaking or camping, always entertaining, now im into kayaking and camping too, ready for my first trip!!👍👍
I think I am caught up on all your vids now. Lol. Hoping to do a few days on the Suwannee river here in Florida soon. Will be my 1st kayak camping trip. John D.
Oh, you might try a greenland paddle, I have seen some other paddle boarders using them, they say it is nice because you can use it in a kayak style paddle and stand up configuration.
Hey Trip. I want to thank you for the motivation for getting out there and doing more research into finding more places. I appreciate all your videos. There's also an app that you can find locations. It's call Go Paddling.
Loved the Vid bud! I've also noticed that you haven't used your chair as much. I was wanting to try just the cooler by the end of my last trip so I could have more deck space. Velcro straps is genius though. Might give that a try.
Hey Kev! Yea, I'm thinking that I'll just bring the chair along on overnights and even then I may leave it folded up. I guess it just depends on the situation. I was looking for something simple, quick and clean to strap things down with and the velcro seems to fit the bill. I haven't tested how strong it actually is yet but it's working....
Hey man, another great video! A tip for the goggles though...if they're tempered glass, just use a lighter and burn off the coating on the inside. I had to do it on 2 new pairs of goggles 2 weeks ago for my wife and I before a trip to Madison Blue Springs in north Florida. Worked like an absolute charm. Only problem was that the OUTSIDE of the lenses fogged when I came out of the water because the spring water was so cold, but it was hot outside, but once you go back in the water, just wipe the outside off and you're good!
Great video Trip! I'm adding that location to my list. Also, wanted to give you a heads up about that Bluetooth speaker you're using. Be very careful with the charging port. It's really easy to beak it off, then it falls inside the speaker. Can't be repaired because it's sealed ☹️
Thanks Jennie! Definitely, it's a must visit but go on a weekday if you can. I read about that issue in the reviews on Amazon but I haven't had any trouble and it seems pretty tough to me and I'm rough with it. I've had it for well over a year, maybe even 2 now and it's been banged around a good bit. I like it...
If you ever get down to the New Smyrna Beach area on a trip let me know I have a place for you to sleep & a lot of good waters to paddle around here. Have a great day. Patrick
Hey thanks for the offer Patrick! Looking it over real quick on Google Maps it seems that there is quite a bit to offer for kayak camping! You have a good one as well bud.
Haha! I enjoy them at home to lol Yea.... I did do two fishing videos on the Kahuna though.... Did ya miss em? They are on the Adventure playlist! ru-vid.com/group/PL-fvZ7RpVpmmyh0Npvl2XvEvW6RLg8Bvy
I've heard about those two and I'd like to get down there sometime. Not sure when I will though, I've still got a good bit to explore that's closer to home.
I’ve watched this one twice. Only been there once with my kids. I live fairly close. A good friend of mine own and operates a livery up the creek from there. Let me know if you’d want to do a subscriber trip. Camping is available by reservation.
Trip, I’m headed over to Miramar this week and I’m bringing my Vibe Mavericks. My son and I are going to head over early Saturday morning and follow your trip on this video. It looks like you used Old Cypress Canoe Rentals to shuttle you up river (creek) to Burnt Sock Landing and then you paddled down to Cypress Spring and then back to your truck. Correct?
I haven't Kevin.... I have a G-Shock that has the tides and moon phases on it. ALthough I never was able to figure out how to set it up to my area so they both are out of wack with my area. I'd like to have a smart watch sometime in the future but I don't want to spend the money...
Wow, that was packed! Did you go on a weekend? I remember looking this place up not too long ago while planning an Ecofina trip and reading Cypress Springs head is only accessible by paddling...figured it would not be so crowded!
Absolutely, I've already taken it once out to the gulf and it did just fine. Technically, no it won't handle them as well as the sea yak but it will do just fine as long as you watch the weather.
We’ll just put it like this if you want to bottle some of that water.. they have Porta-Potties up on the shore and I’ve never seen one person walk up there.
I just got a Kaku. Is the cooler you use a DeepBlue Performance Cooler 25? Are the brackets for the velcro straps built into the cooler? Thanks Ben Heschen
Nice! Congrats on the new ride! Nope, its a Engel DryBox Cooler. There is a link to it and most all the other gear I use in the description but here is the link to the cooler - Engel 30qt Cooler - amzn.to/2paQs7p Here is a video on the Velcro (don't forget the links in the descripion ;-) ru-vid.com?o=U&video_id=PAH4m91UTzM
Paddleboards are the way to go for most people I think.... Overall they are just easier to handle and paddle (especially inflatables) which makes them more enjoyable and since they are easier to transport and store you will use them more. I have looked at Bote, absolutely. They make some great looking boards. I tried to get them to loan me one to use on my video where I slept on a SUP while anchored out but they weren't interested. They are semi local to me (a couple hours away) and I know they make good products so I tried them first. That didn't pan out so I contacted the #1 company for inflatable SUP's, Red Paddle Co, and they have been a blast to work with so far. GREAT BOARDS..... they are the leader in innovation it seems....
Have u ventured to Central FL yet? Itchetucknee Springs, Genie (pronounced genny) Springs. Im in the Tampa Bay area and am near Homosassa, Crystal River and Rainbow river
Your videos are great. I’ve watched several and you’re making me want to ditch my SOT kayak for a paddle board. Have you been able to get kids in a paddle board with you? Do you like the inflatable SUPs better?
Thankya, glad you enjoy them! Yea.... the SUP is more enjoyable for me in most situations. Oh yea, the kids love cruising on the SUP, especially the inflatables since they are "soft" and they can crawl all over them..... Yes, I absolutely like ISUPs better. That's why I have 5 ISUPs and no hard ones.
man love your videos reminds me of a 3-4 day trip I took with some buddy's kyaking and pro tip well not really a pro but spit in your goggles and get it everywhere and then dump it out and it should be no fog
Glad you enjoy them man! Yea, I certainly tried spitting in them. What happens is with new goggles they can have a thin layer of silicone on the lens that can cause them to fog up easily. I attempted to get it off beforehand by scrubbing them with toothpaste but it didn't help to much. I'll try another solution before heading back in the water.
SailingandSuch good idea I just found with mine it was pretty easy bc there tempered glass which are my favorite so far never had any like em they work great and I'm planning another trip down the salt river In az,
SailingandSuch I definitely will and last thing do you know any good places in Oregon and Wa to go for a trip I'm taking back to the home state of Washington in august
Yea, too bad..all these large corp are draining our precious springs. They actually dried up a few on Suwanee and Withlacochee N Rivers. In times of droughts some are barely flowing...disgraceful.
Maybe not every time. I remember my last new mask I had the same trouble breaking it in. They come from the factory with some sort of film on them it seems that makes them fog easily. I definitely tried the spit trick a few times that day.
SailingandSuch , easiest way to get rid of film on a brand new mask, take a bit of toothpaste and rub on inside and outside of lens helps break down factory film
I have a Ducky. I love taking trips by myself. Because of u and this channel I am going to try overnite camping/ ducky trip. Do u have any experience with a ducky. I like it cause I can deflate call an uber to take me back to my car at put in. Self sufficient
I sure don't but I'd like to paddle an inflatable kayak one day. They seem to be pretty interesting for sure. Hope your trip goes well. I know people go pack rafting with similar kayaks so it's certainly doable!
Who are the 5 people who thumbs downed this video?? They must not like to have fun 🤔🤣 Can’t wait my grandfather just gave me his kayak, getting out on the water for the first time tomorrow !!
Update! .. went to Wekiva Springs via Kings Landing. Thanks for the inspiration that helped me go, even though I didn’t have anyone else to tag along! 👍🏻☀️😎
Yea, there is always someone who thumbs down my videos lol At least they took the time to come watch ;) Hope you enjoyed the time on the water in your grandfather's yak! Nothing wrong with a solo trip ;) Just Get Out There!
Looks like a cool spot seen you almost smacked your head on the jump and the snakes yea not liking that. would be a cool spot for a camp out if its ok.
Lol, well I'm trying to stay home as much as possible here lately with our newborn son... In August though, I've got two great camping adventures planned ;-)
