Physically CS Source = GTA 4 CSGO = GTA 5

CSS will always be best CS in terms of physics interactions, But the Con of it was Playerbase didn't like the Over the top Physics which was too detailed but same time bad for visibility and competitive integrity. Thats why CSS was least popular than 1.6 and CSGO.....So valve was trying to follow 1.6 and CSGO rather than CSS.....CSS will be always be coolest CS to look at but worst in terms of competitive gameplay. It's just bittersweet

I think Valve sacrificed physics in CS2 to get maximum performance and stability If they brought back those features from CSS then the game wouldn't run at over 500 fps

A very nice thing that Valve could do to please *EVERY* player is to add something like two game modes. One would contain all the maps made to be "competetive" and the other containing the same maps but with physics and more details.

I believe that CS 2 and CSGO are what we see because Valve has to adjust the game to support Esports competition more.

The actual Problem ppl had with CSS, was the Recoil of the weapons. It felt too easy to hit someone and HS tap. Also the Barrels that interrupted your movements. Ppl never had a problem with the ragdolls or details in it. Maybe it's hard for computers to perform well with CS 2 graphics containing all these details aswell.

Some stuff would be cool in CS2. Like the fire extinguisher would be cool so map makers could strategically place them for use in competitive play. More water physics/interactions would also be cool without disturbing the competitiveness. And a bit more interactive things, like, I understand that you can't move chairs and bigger objects anymore, but shooting down paintings or having the bomb explosion actually explode something would be nice. Bring more life to the game, but without ruining the fps and competitiveness ofc, but I think it's doable with source 2.

19 años de diferencia y el motor source sigue siendo igual de impresionante que en su momento, literal son el mismo juego solo que con una que otra mecanica diferente y texturas mas realistas y aun asi la diferencia de detalles es mucha, y eso que el source valve lo saco unicamente para probar el motor.

This is a good demonstration of the tradeoff games (not just CS) have seen in the last decade or two where, because so much time and effort has to go into making environments so detailed and ornate, not as much effort ends up going into extra interactive features/touches. Generating and detailing environments was obviously less hassle and probably a lot more fun back in the 90's and early 2000's, which allowed for more creativity and less burnout, allowing for such features, because it was literally just a matter of "eh, why not, won't take long". Nowadays, of course, generating game environments probably comes across as a daunting task fueled by high expectations, higher ups breathing down the developer's necks, and tight deadlines. As a result, no one has the time, energy, or interest in adding those sorts of features anymore.

I love every CS regardless of the physics or gameplay. I just love to play them

CS:S wasn't so competetive this time so it could have many details CS2 is competetive so they needed to delete much details to boost up optimalisation

I’m not impressed, CSS was released in 2004, the same year as HL2, so both on those games got incredible physics potential.

I feel like this is less of an upgrade from Source to Source 2, vs 1.6 to source was. Games are at such a high level that improvements are becoming less, and less.

Well, so much for the new Source engine. Not sure if these changes were worth replacing CS:GO, but that's just me.

Honestly i don't see why valve would not add physics interractions like we were shown in HL:A. CS:S has the amount of physics interractions HL2 has, so why not do the same thing for CS2?

I wish there were better explosion aftermath for cs, like how it is in tf2. Nuke, for example, could have the entire floor collapse into the nuclear liquid and have a toxic cloud rise from it or something.

CS2 still in beta, so we can have more improvements over the next years... i hope for it... but the CSS physics was cool, i remember playing css in office and we always using a grande to make the lockers fall and blocking the ways for the CT's have trouble getting the hostages away... was funny and help the Tr's ..
