First part of session 2 for the day. Had a 991 GT3 as a rabbit and we traded places a couple of times. I came in early because it looked like my hood wasn't shut and then we had a black flag all anyway. Best lap was a 2:05.66.
The Alpha chassis is the greatest RWD chassis ever engineered. It’s so sad to see Cadillac abandon it after this generation. They should improve it and keep some gasoline performance models. Spread the wealth to Chevrolet
For a four door sedan to be able to outrun flat out super cars on the track, while carrying more weight and luxury. Is truly an accomplishment. I can tell the car still has way more than what was demonstrated here. Which is why I can not wait to get my hands on the car and be it's rightful owner
Wow!! This just put a smile on my face 😃. It just crushes the straights and hangs amazingly well with that Porsche in the curves. Question… do you have the Carbon Ceramics?? Did you get brake fade at the end of the video? Thanks
Impressive, I’m little surprised that your tires held up for multiple laps. It’s nice to see American Iron making a GOOD showing against some serious German sleds
I have added respect for the journalists on C&D's One Lap after watching your video. They were peddling the CT5V-BW at 154.1 mph at the point you use for your start/finish line. Have you run the full lap with the BW yet?
I agree that the journalists that drive the C&D LL unfairly get a bad rap. They turn really good times, especially on a track as complex and long as Grand Course. This video was VIR Full Course and my best so far as a 2:05.17. Their speed difference on the straights is in part because they are using the automatic trans which is definitely faster (compare my C7 ZR1 manual vid to Jim Mero in the automatic) but I was also holding back some and surely there is more time to be had.
@@HiPoDriver you're in traffic, they are not. And the CT5-V Blackwing used on the Lightning Lap was without Carbon Ceramics, and they did mess up on more than one section of the track, which hindered lap times. Does that mean they're bad drivers? Not at all, they're among the most talented drivers you could meet. I do have to say though, if the CT5-V Blackwing was able to accommodate 285w front tires, and 335w rears with the CT4-V Blackwing's aero canards, it would be the sweet spot. I for one wish Cadillac would make a 2 door ZL1 1LE based variant of the CT5-V Blackwing, imo it's body lines make it much more attractive and easier as a daily driver
@@trdtuner7 did you have to rolls fenders for that 325? Could you please elaborate on that set up Tire, size, fenders rolled? Any issues? I’m truly curious about this
Awesome videos, thanks for posting! I ran a CTSV manual sedan at VIR for 3 years before I switched to a C7 and it’s amazing how well the Blackwing manages its weight. What group are you running there with? I’ll be there at the end of the month, can’t wait!
