I wish we could have a no items mode in matchmaking. I don't like to play short maps because the winner is most of the time the lucky sob who didn't get hit at the start

If I had to guess, I'd say the other players actually were faster, but you're seeing them slightly behind where they are due to the ping time between the host and other players (and maybe other factors). As these races are often very close, that's more likely to be an issue.

This is how online needs to be. They really need to make this a mode.

My dad was playing against the first boss on adventure mode and they both crossed the line at the same time (although my dad was in first place according to the number on the screen) and the game assumed my dad won and the winning music and everything started playing and then the menu comes and says "retry" and "exit" but no "continue", so it turns out he had actually lost and he had to play the race again, it was very funny haha

A testament to the fact that they do need to fix synchronization between players, in all versions.

For super sharp skills is key to winning the race and your gonna need em to face in a all out race using the same engine. Same as go-kart championships where the key is patience till you can see the opening to take that 1st place. Basically they screw up and take the checkered flag
