don't shoot ur single stag zones. i stopped shooting my single stag zones and my GO spawned in no time. when u shoot the single stag zones, u have to refind them all the time which slows down your respawns

Thanks to your guide, I found a piebald, and an albino red nose red deer on my first few hours of playing Cuatro today. I was just about to turn the game off too, but decided to go to 1 last lake. It was ecstatic. I’ve only started playing COTW for about a week now and I’m loving it.

I feel like there is definitely something to herd management. I've been keeping all of my lvl 4 and below stags. I have 12 diamonds in just over 700 kills. I'm averaging a max weight stag around every 5 kills. I have also used this to fill some of the herds that are more difficult to spot with low level stags so I can just ignore them. Also that render trick with the tents is so useful. Thanks for putting that info out there.

I agree, I had 4 diamonds in 200 kills. I also read about a guy testing this system by using hacks to set all the animals of a certain species to the minimum/maximum value, and when he spawned in only max score/weight animals, when he would shoot them, only min score/weight animals would respawn. Worked the other way around too. So I'm convinced that the game keeps trying to have a sort of balance of animals on the map, with also a bit of randomness thrown in. That would make herd management possible.

14:15 I once had 4 level 9s in the same run with shooting everything but I haven't got a great one and I'm at about 3k kills if I hit 5k then I will change this tactic and do what you were talking about

This video helps me a lot, I've been playing for only about a month and since then I've found 3 diamonds (2 of which I messed up) and so I'm kinda hungry for more. That being said, when it comes to grinding higher level animals i.e. bison, I don't know what gun to use as obviously the single round in the 7MM can't take out multiple animals at once. What's your opinion on which gun (non dlc because I have no money) is most optimal for the grind?

when you say to not shoot more than three animals at a zone, does that mean don't shoot 3 animals at that zone no matter what or is that don't shoot 3 before moving on to another zone to decrease hunting pressure?

Because if you shoot 3 animals from outside of a hunting structure, the hunting structure will delete the zone, this can be countered by placing a tripod or being in any hunting structure, where you can kill 12 animals before the zone gets deleted, and since you wouldn't shoot 12 stags in the same zone, and hunting pressure from other zones removing pressure from each other keeps it from overflowing

All fails keep looking around at different spots, I’ve found my solo stags stacking with other ones or herds then they go back to their zones after a run

The tripods don’t matter when they are set, now when you first set them up from 150 meters it will spook the animals.

A lot of the males move around so you gotta look for them and after a run I would reset the time, go to a different map, then go back to cuatro

When I'm on a grind if I want to keep track, I only kill that kind of animal and then sbutract the number of kills I had from my current kill count in the Codex or wherever it is. Am I the only one that does it like that?

On average, 2.5-3 hours per recording session, and then another 1.5 hours on editing and such. It depends tho, guide videos actually often take longer

It’s a random spawn, it literally just respawns at some point from a stag shot. It doesn’t mean anything that it took a long time to have one appear because it’s random. My first one showed up after 3.6k kills, my 2nd after probably 200 or less. It’s random. The guide is perfect for anyone wanting to go grind for one, because it shows you what Flinter did as he went along. If anything Flinter is better informed to make a guide than someone who got one faster because he’s experienced more of what can happen during a grind!
