Best vid for removal and install of cubcadet deck on youtube. Explained step by step with precise camera angles. No music no extra comments no crap ! Excellent
As others have mentioned, the manufacturer's video doesn't want to address the cable. You did it with ease, making is so that the average joe can accomplish this. I especially appreciated you taking the time to show in detail the spring and cable reattachment. Great video. Subscribed!
An absolutely great tutorial!!! Everything is so clear - simply beautiful! I just took the mower deck off my CC XT2 Endure 42", but couldn't get the PTO to run. Your video showed me that I'd forgotten to reconnect the PTO cable to its bracket. I'm saving this one for sure! Thank you!
Just received an XT2 LX42 and needed to install mulch kit. This video is invaluable as I could not understand the deck removal instructions in the manual. Thank You Very Much, Well Done!
@@paulgray3444 The mulching blades that come with the mulching kit are ok, but I picked up a set of Gator Mulching Blades for this season and they're leaps and bounds better than the 3-in-1 blades that come in the kit.
Just have to say thank you! My dad bought a 46 version of this mower not to long ago and bent one of the blades his very first time using it. He spent about an hour trying to use the manual to take the deck off but it wasn’t up to date at all. I found your video, got the deck off, new blades installed, and the deck back up and running in a matter of minutes. Seriously, thank you for the video! I now have it saved for later just in case we need it again. 😅
An easier way is to get a mower lift (Harbor Freight even sells a couple versions for about $300 or less...I love mine, saves taking the deck off as often.
You explained this faster than I could decipher the instructions manual and like the other person said, "one handed". I just got home with my new XT1 and it really slings that debris. I need to put my mulch kit on before I break a window or a person. Thanks friend for the help.
You are "The Man", no really. My wife watched the video on the phone and told me, "now the Man on the video said to do this..." so you ARE the man. Great video and big-time help.
First time trying to do this and was really concerned that I wouldn't be able to... But after watching your video, I'm confident that I can...Thank you!
This was awesome. I just got done replacing the blades on my XT1 and put the deck back on and found a left over bow pin. This is par for me. I searched and thought it went on that cable but wasn't sure. Your video is the only one I've found that touches on this and it saved my sanity. Thanks!
Leftover parts, careful....I forgot one of those and bent the crap out of the front deck support rod, literally bent the rod into the shape of a U...oops, $24 later for a replacement rod, now I double and triple check stuff before driving off.
Thank you, thank you, wasn't sure how reattach the blade engage cable, your clear video showed how you removed it from the deck bracket, now I know how to attach it again. I'm an old man, memory is not very good. All set now, thanks to you!
Thanks so much for this video!!!!!!! I couldn't figure out how to put the pin in the PTO cable. Your video is AWESOME!!!! When you have to fix things yourself, it's so helpful to have videos just like this. Loved the closeups!!!
The best video on removal and reinstalling mower deck on XT5, with manual PTO. Step by step progression made it a whole lot easier. Had more trouble removing the darn blades to sharpen them! Thank you very much.
Thank you so much! Took off the deck to sharpen blades during the winter and now that it is time to put it back on my memory is foggy. This was perfect!!!!
Thank you for showing not only removing but installing the mower deck. The instructions in the manual are confusing and no video or course. Now I have mulching blades and plug installed ready for my son to get to work.
Used this video again to replace my blades. Who the HECK thumbed this down??? I will say I only needed to watch about 1/2 of the video this time as I'm understanding how the rear deck works better now. But seriously thanks for making this video. You dumbed it down pretty well for me! I did want to mention if you use an impact wrench to remove and replace the bolts it doesn't seem to me like you need to use a blade stopper. So that is pretty awesome.
This video was excellent. I read the manufacturer's directions and found them to be very confusing and the diagrams were very unclear. This video made it easy.
Just purchased my XT1 with a 46" deck. Thank you for the great video. Now, when I need to sharpen the blades, it should be much easier than jacking up the front of the tractor.
I just purchased a new XT2 with the fabricated 42" deck and I am impressed with how well things are layed out and easy to adjust on these mowers. Great video. I am sure I will refer to it at the end of the mowing season.
Agreed, best "how to" video for mower install. Can't say how many times I've watched certain parts of this video just to confirm that I've done things right. Bravo !!
What an awesome teacher! I'm a 62 y/o woman and I just might give this a whirl since my belt slipped off. So thorough and you make it seem easy! Thanks!!!
Mark, THANK YOU for your video. My son and I worked all day replacing the drive belt on my Cadet. It's a nightmare, but it's done. When we reinstalled the mower deck, we forgot to attach the front of the arms to the chassis. Your video illustrated that perfectly. We'll be able to finish the job tomorrow morning, and I'll be mowing by noon. Again... THANK YOU!!!!
Thank you for the informative video. I just bought a 19 XT2 and the deck was already off for the plow it came with. This will be a great help for reinstalling my deck for mowing season
Best most clear video I have found on the deck removal and replacement I have found. Thanks for the clear instructions. I was going to just jack the tractor up to replace the blades but I think I can use this video to walk me through removing the deck instead. Thanks!!!
This was the perfect video. One on cub cadet site did not show the back spring and also had you remove the belt. I just bent my blade so had to replace and this was perfect step by step. Cotter pins can be a bit annoying but great video if you need to replace a blade on your cub cadet XT46 or 42.
Thanks. A very helpful and impressive tutorial. What was even more impressive was how well you managed those retainer clips.(Didn't do quite as well with them LOL)
Excellent video. I must request a follow up video on how to inspect and replace the blade belt once you have the deck off, as only you can explain it. Thank you for making such a great instructional video.
Very good video my friend. Thank You!! I have a 46 " and had to take off the deck to fix an issue with my blade. The video worked like an charm and followed to a T . Works great and I'm back to cutting. Thanks again!!
Bravo! my old 2135 (23 years old) is easier to get the deck off since I don't have to mess with a cable but you give me confidence I can do this. Thank You.
Thank you so much for this detailed and thorough video! I wish I had found it first thing in the morning instead of penning through the manual (which was LITTLE help). This video was a huge help and made it super easy!! 'Preciate ya!
the best video ever...after trying to read their directions and getting confused, I will re-read and maybe some will make sense. Thanks for the video and help!!!
This was a fantastic video and you saved me hours of my life. Thank you. I used this video to help me remove the deck to change the blades. If I ever find the person that tightened the bolts on the factory blades, I'm gonna strangle them. I had to take the deck to a local body shop to have them use the compressor wrench. But that's another story. Thanks for posting a great video.
awesome video very explanatory and easy to understand. What I am needing is a video of how to replace the PTO on this model. On our mower the blades are not disengaging when we turn the PTO off. Do you have a video on how to do that please.
THANK YOU for this. The cable isn’t shown in the manufacturer video. So that was a nice surprise. Thanks for showing this. Do you have any videos of a snowblower attachment for this machine?
I have the blower attachment for mine, I guess I need to figure out how to shoot a video of installing and setting it up...its really not that hard, takes maybe a half hour including deck removal....probably less time now that I've swapped pins on the deck to allow easier removal and installation. Worst part for me is trying to wrestle with the blower to get it out of the shed over to my carport so I can install it. I haven't been able to use the blower much since I got it 2 years ago, past couple winters haven't been much of a winter, so maybe this year. I got 1 change in about 10 inches of snow to try it out, it works great, and I add 3 rear suitcase weights and tire chains and have no trouble with traction.
Thanks Mark! I'm so thankful you put out this video!Thank you😁😁it took me several days because I got frustrated and would quit.but now it seems easy and not afraid to do it again lol.the arms had flipped around and wouldn't fit back on lol.didn't realize that had happened.thanks again!!
I followed the video carefully, and the deck came off without a hitch, besides me needing three hands to do so, it was great help. Now I repaired the jammed blades and when I tried putting it back on, the two rear hangers will not line up. No matter what I do I cannot get them into place to reattach and put the pins in, anything I’m missing, the video is so straightforward that it’s frustrating...
Hey Mark Thank you for the video. I love you & I hate you. I don't do do repairs other than cleaning, fuel stabilizer, disconnect battery. Wire was wrapped around shaft of discharge blade. I needed to remove deck/blade.I was going to call for service but after viewing your video, I thought...I can do this! I was right. I referenced the video several times but was successful and have over 10 hours runtime since. again Thank You!! Now I hate you because my wife will expect more! I kinda have the confidence to attempt an oil change...maybe.
