I picked up this wheel at Micro Center as well. I was concerned about the slipperiness on the molded grips at first, but I got used to it quickly. Now I really like the feel. Personal preferences, I guess.
@grayzedynamics
@grayzedynamics 4 месяца назад
Yeah it’s not a bad wheel at all and the grips are SIGNIFICANTLY better than the F-Pro. If the F-Pro had those grips I likely would have kept it. The grips are the best part. It’s all subjective tho. Plus it’s affordable and a good build quality.

Nice. I think wheels are so subjective and for me, it may not be my favorite, but there are others who love it. If I had endless cash, I would have kept it, it is okay for me. I just wish the F-Pro had these grips and they were a lil tacky. Overall still a good wheel.

Also take a look at the Grid MPX. I really wanted thumb encoders, dual clutches and dual funky switches. I wanted to go with the F-Core and save some money but one of my teammates steered me away from Cube Controls. I ended up splurging on the MPX.
@grayzedynamics
@grayzedynamics 11 месяцев назад
Nice. I hear the MPX if a pretty sweet wheel. Heavy but nice. Weight doesn't matter much to me. The only thing is it has the spacer attached and I'd have to adjust my entire rig. I don't have any in my other rims with them so it would be a total bummer to have to adjust everything. I will consider for the future once I have a more permanent place for the rig.

GT3's run about 330mm in real car. I was running a 285mm and in some races the rear end would just pop out. Now I run 300mm and you can catch the car a lot better. Looking into a 310mm if only Cube Control made one. Ascher Racing will be coming out with 300mm+ wheel. To each their own but to say a certain diameter makes the wheel better is incorrect. Love your videos by the way.
@grayzedynamics
@grayzedynamics 11 месяцев назад
Thanks for the feedback. I gotcha. For me the sweet spot is that 285 to 300 mm. I think for most that is perfect. Especially with so many on weaker wheelbases. Now for example I think the GSI FPE is awesome and that is 320mm. So if you want large I would for sure recommend. I've used it a few times at microcenter and it is sweet. Obviously this is all subjective so you are most definitely correct. No one size fits all but I do think the range fits most. As many will never be in a real race car including myself. Thanks for tuning in. 👍🏾

the Leoxz XF1 Sport seems like the best bang for the buck rim out there rn for me. i just wish that it had back lit buttons. If i were seriously considering something like this it would just get the F-pro
@grayzedynamics
@grayzedynamics 11 месяцев назад
The leoxz is a nice wheel for the price. Had a ton of good features. I will warn you it is on the small side. Really great for open wheel cars, can be a lil too small for GT. If you play a lot of F1 games it'll be sweet.

I just bought this wheel from Microcenter... For the price, I would definitely skip it and go with the GT Neo.. Or the Moza KS. The paddles feel like toys. The only thing good is the wireless connection and the face plate. These wheels are overpriced for what they are sometimes. Definitely making the GT Neo look even more worth it for the price.
@grayzedynamics
@grayzedynamics 4 месяца назад
Oh for sure. I think it is not worth it one bit. I'd say the GT neo over the Moza KS. Simhub integration is huge and Simagic is opening itself up. But your right. So much not value for the money out there.

Firstly, thank you for this review. Very helpful! Did you by any chance notice any downsides to the extreme light weightness of this wheel rim?
@grayzedynamics
@grayzedynamics 11 месяцев назад
Thanks for tuning in. No. Honestly that I see as an advantage. No dampening effect because it is lightweight. I would say if these features are what you need. I will be looking at the Moza KS here shortly and that may be a better value for the buck.
@DrR1pper
@DrR1pper 11 месяцев назад
@@grayzedynamics thank you for the speedy reply. Hmm, I was afraid you might say that you can still notice a difference and thus benefit going with a lighter steering wheel rim even with a very powerful DD. I might have to go back to the drawing board of what I planned for my next upgrade which was to be a Simagic Alpha or Alpha U with FX or FX Pro steering wheel. I too noticed a significant benefit of going with a lighter steering wheel with my CLS DD which translated into literally a second of lap time difference thanks to that reduction in weight. I guess I was hoping that given the greater power of the higher end DD's, it would significantly mitigate this issue. The FX and FX Pro are 1.5kg and 1.7kg respectively which is quite a lot heavier than he F-Core. Damn...lol.
@grayzedynamics
@grayzedynamics 11 месяцев назад
Yeah. If yiu are willing to crank up the feedback it may not have a big difference but it also can and too heavy on a weaker DD and you will feel it. I myself run a stronger amount of feedback and depending on the car I think having a heavier wheel is beneficial. For example, racing in a prototype car, a larger wheel can be cool. In a open wheel car, lighter would be better. Having a stronger DD would mitigate so much of the dampening effect. Ultimately, I buy wheels I like and adapt the wheelbase power to suit. I have the Omega One and soon Pro and those wheels are light. Like the Balkn but the GSI is heavier and I just make adjustments and love them all. Only wheel I haven't been a fan of so far is the F-Core. Just not my favorite wheel. But I think others may love it.

@grayzedynamics
@grayzedynamics 11 месяцев назад
Uh oh. No pressure. 😂 X-29 for sure. GXL are chunky grips similar to FPE. F-Core are nice but not as tacky and grippy. Maybe over time they will be but for me the X-29 is in the sweet spot. Soft, grippy and perfect size to grip. Contoured right for my small/medium hands.
@chiefzski
@chiefzski 11 месяцев назад
After GSI products, any Cube wheel feels like a toy. and their software is glitchy, the wheel can reset itself middle of the race, your shifter can slide out, the angle changes also in the middle of the race. I hate CC, I have used CSX3, Formula Pro Wireless, CSX2, all of them were terrible. Then I bought GSI FPE and Hyper P1, I kept FPE, since I much like biggest wheel for GT3. Hyper P1 wasn't ergonomic for my thumbs. X-29 also looks nice, but I want a screen now on my wheel. X-29 would be better than any CC to be honest.
@GabrielHaller
@GabrielHaller 11 месяцев назад
I had the GSI F-29 for one week, sent it back and got the CC fcore instead. You have thumb encoders and toggle switches, the buttons have different haptics so that they can be operated blindly. Sure maybe it doesn't feel as high quality or has LED's but it is functional in it's purest form. It doesn't distract you and does what it should do in the best possible way in my opinion.
@grayzedynamics
@grayzedynamics 11 месяцев назад
Nothing wrong with that. It's all about personal preference. And if that's yours cool with me. I just wouldn't recommend it personally. I'd recommend the F-Pro for sure. Just not the Core at this price range. I'd get so many others over this wheel. Good thing we both can be right and neither is wrong. 👊🏾
@grayzedynamics
@grayzedynamics 11 месяцев назад
I love the GSI. And I do want the Hyper. Although I do like the FPE too. I have the Bavarian Simtec Omega One and the Pro is coming and that has me stoked as well. Should have that soon to add and review. In the end it's all about preference and I did experience the paddles moving so I had to really tighten. My right shifter was close during a race. I didn't use wireless becsuse I had issues in orwctice so I used wired. Overall they are not bad but the grips for me just was too much to bare.
@GabrielHaller
@GabrielHaller 11 месяцев назад
@@grayzedynamics I agreed with you 100 % in the end it is all preference! I like the Moza fsr but i'd run it on my SC2 pro and the cable is flimsy and way too short whereas the fcore magnetic cable is ingenious. I like the GSI, but I need the thumb encoders. I like the Fpro, but it is out of my budget. Considering all this, the fcore seems like the best option right now FOR ME:)

How do you like the F Core compared to the GSI in terms of FFB feel since the GSI is heavier than the CC?
@grayzedynamics
@grayzedynamics 11 месяцев назад
Honestly I run my FFB quite high so I don't notice. But I don't necessarily have a preference either, I just use the wheel I like. I assume if you use a weaker base you could tell but I adjust the car feeling for each car because I like it higher.

How do you like fcore grip compared to simracingbay rim? Or gsi x-29 you like most? Which you prefer more, thanks
@grayzedynamics
@grayzedynamics 11 месяцев назад
Good question. I think the SRB and GSI grips are better for me. The F-Core has much better grips than the F-Pro but I would prefer the SRB and GSI better. The SRB is similar to the GSI FPE, they are chunky and soft. It would be hard to choose which are better for me. I would say you cannot go wrong either way. I like them a lot.
@GabrielHaller
@GabrielHaller 11 месяцев назад
I go by the saying "form follows function". You have thumb encoders and toggle switches and different button layouts. I really don't understand what you mean by saying "it's not feature rich" and still praise the GSI X-29 which just has some LED's instead but none of the other features.
@grayzedynamics
@grayzedynamics 11 месяцев назад
I don't think either of them are feature rich. Meaning they have all the bells and whistles. I wanted to like the F-Core but it just didn't feel great. But the feel of the X-29 doesn't feel like it's a compromise whereas the the F-Core you feel as if they sacrificed to get it into a window. GSI feels great the F-Core does not. Just my opinion. Obviously many don't like the X-29 so it's all subjective. If I were in the market and could pick, it isn't a wheel I would recommend over quite some others. And if you wanted a cube controls I'd say save up for it's the F-Pro which is significantly better outside of the grips. Thx 👍🏾
@-racingfan2014

Personally the grips on f core are the best I have felt in my hands. Perfect with and without gloves. I had moza wheels and FSR and GS have their leather wrapped around a piece of plastic mold, which feels very toyish. So definitely not a recommend over. Simagic I havent tried but that one does look great as well. I play VR so dont need screens or rgb colors. I do think you need thumb rotors to easily adjust brake bias for example. X-29 fails in this unfortunately.
@grayzedynamics
@grayzedynamics 11 месяцев назад
Appreciate the feedback. I did like the FSR myself but yes you may have to use with gloves. However you also have the ability to update them with pineapple grips so that helps. I don't use VR so a screen is helpful. Thumb rotaries depends on what I am racing so it varies. I usually don't change BB and TC in game and I presume most do not. When I watch streamers, very little actually use them. They set and forget. I think the grips are still slippery but significantly better than the F-Core but you still have to grip tighter than I have to with my X-29. I think at $650 there are so many choices and it really comes down to personal preference to be honest. At $650 I choose some others, especially if I am in an ecosystem. In fact, I will be testing the Moza KS here soon and at that price it may be the best entry level wheel on the market. If the LEOXZ was bigger than 270mm I'd recommend that as well. Nice wheel just too small, again my personal preference. Thabk again for the input. Enjoy the F-Core mate.
@-racingfan2014
@-racingfan2014 11 месяцев назад
@@grayzedynamics i have pineapple grips with genuine leather but same problem applies that they put it around 3d printed plastic mold. Cube controls, GSI, ascher wheels are definitely step up from Moza. The KS wheel though might be okay grip wise and still a bit squishy. Hope Leoxz comes out with atleast 290mm or bigger. Huge market. Cube controls is also taking long with their mercedes branded gt wheels.
@grayzedynamics
@grayzedynamics 11 месяцев назад
Gotcha. Grip wise yes I'd agree that Moza could do better with some of their wheels. Three F-Core is better, but the F-Pro is horrible. However, when I compare them I was looking at bang for buck. And when ask the variables are considered I think the FSR is a better value at the same price. Grips are such a huge piece that I'd keep my X-29 over all of them. Even without thumb rotaries. Put GSI grips on the F-Core and perfect. I would buy that tomorrow.

@grayzedynamics
@grayzedynamics 7 месяцев назад
I think you have to look at the price and feature set. For the price Moza is the better buy. You get all the same and at a much cheaper price. Moza FSR has all the same as cube but a screen for cheaper. I've had 2 cube wheels and they are good. But are they worth the premium price, that's a personal decision. I would say yes but if you like what you get. Then again, I think the Pokornyi Hyp-R is better than all of Cube. Lol
