Ascher Racing F64 V3 v. Cube Controls F-PRO 

Thank you for the kind words. I saw some of the wheels Ascher intends on release via youtube videos of the sim racing expo last month. Yes, they do look interesting. The channels that covered the sim expo showed some really interesting equipment from a bunch of manufacturers. I'd love to try out any and all wheels but the $$$ is not in the budget. :)

Agreed, the F64 is way too expensive as a backup wheel or for wall art. :) The Volante SRC Radical you mentioned looks nice and the price seems reasonable. I'm trying to sell my F64 on Facebook but nobody has shown any interest.

Thank you! I can appreciate what you say. I use the Sparco sim gloves myself. I prefer alcantara grips, not because I get a better grip from them; rather, I like they way they feel. I can get a good grip on F-PRO without much effort. Currently, I use the F-PRO for all cars: formula, GT, and Nascar because I don't have it in the budget to buy an oval/d-shaped wheel. As you know, sim racing can get crazy expensive when you have to actually buy the stuff! I would only use the F-PRO with formula car if I had my choice. I'm certainly keeping my eye out for a new oval/d-shaped wheel with LEDs. And I really like the magnetic charging/USB cable on the cube controls, so if they release a new wheel oval wheel with alcantar, LEDs, and magnetic cable, it will likely be on the top of my list. I don't really care for LCD displays on a wheel because I never look down that far in my GT style seating position. They look nice, but kinda useless for me. If I had a F1 laydown type cockpit then maybe the LCD would have some use. As far as shifters, I almost always use a paddle shifter because I really don't like the Fanatec H-pattern shifter I have. I miss a lot of shifts with it in h-pattern mode. I'd like to be true to the shifting mechanism a car actually uses in real life, i.e. paddel, h-pattern, sequential, in real life, but after owning the Fanatec for years and not liking it that much I limit its use to oval Nascar truck races wherein I don't have to shift much. There are some really nice looking shifters out there per other RU-vid channel reviews, but the prices are too high for me. I've been trying to sell my Ascher Racing F64 V3 wheel in the video ($1K wall art is ridiculous to me so it was a joke in the video), but haven't had much interest. One person offered me $400 and I couldn't emotionally come to sell it that cheap, so it remains wall art.

@@thoritissimgarage1482 l’m the same way. If a car uses a formula style wheel with paddles thats what I use on the sim. Round wheel with an H-pattern or floor sequential that’s what I’ll use. I went through the Thrustmaster TH8A shifter and two Fanatec shifters before I got my ProSim H-Pattern in 2020. Crazy expensive but worth it if you prefer manual gear box cars. For Sports cars with a floor sequential I use a Jinx SQ and for open wheel cars with sequential I use a Heusinkveld SQ although I prefer the AioLogs SQ.

@@thoritissimgarage1482 Thanks man. It’s been more then a few years in the making. Been through lots of different hardware and hardware configurations before finding exactly what I like and how I want it set up.

I understand what you are asking. No, the Cube Controls' rotary buttons do not remember positions. I can't exactly remember at the moment, but the F64 rotaries might be capable of that?

Good question, my Fanatec F1 has the rotaries, and they Remember the position. If you set the TC to 9 in game and 9 as position in Rotary It works because each position of Rotary can be set as a button. Probably the F64 can do It because I see the numbers 1 to 12. I think Is very important in order to do not make mistakes during a race

@@leonardo_G I think it is the wheel software that is keeping track of the position, not the pysical rotary button, but I could be wrong

Comes applied from the factory.

Hardness is about the same for the F64. Using my trusty durometer, the F64 read 57 and the F-PRO 56.

I thought I was the only one who wanted them too be a bit softer. Do any of you have a issue with calibration of the fpro clutches calibration being thrown slightly out due to the magnets in the quick connect?

@@emde174 I haven't noticed any issue. The poles of the magnets (North/South) are not orientated in a way that it should affect the hall sensor. Hall sensors really only detect North/South poles (the magnetic pull) and not the entire magnetic field according to my understanding. Nevertheless, if in fact the magnets in the quick connect are possibly affecting the clutch hall sensor, the calibration should correct the issue if you calibrate with the quick connect plugged in. If you are using Bluetooth, leave the quick connect disconnected then calibrate. Vice versa if you are using USB. Thanks for comment!

@@chrisperry5244 Nah not even close to being a fan boy I'm just not gonna buy the shitty products Cube Controls sell over good products others sell. So before you go calling people "fanboys" for saying there shouldn't be a comparison, go and buy a Cube Controls wheel for 800-1300 pounds/euro/dollars and let it have a tonne of issues and tell me you shouldn't have bought from another company.

Thank you! If it were me, I'd wait for the new Ascher McLarens to come out. They do look stunning. I'm sure the bigger channels will all review them, so we'll have some good info to go off of.
