Welcome back! I'm so amazed by the degree of detail you go into, trying to understand the plot. I just tried to finish the game by trying every possibilities ^^ Also, I don't remember most of the plot, so maybe, that's why...

In seasons the voice on the phone was someone else calling you, this time you were the speaker yourself. So you were the one telling the corrupted soul that she should leave her memories behind and that they belong to the lake now. This means that the backwards speech is Mr Crow. I agree with you about the colours, they have meaning, and I also agree that blue is redoing something. In this game we see that the black and white cubes are memories, bad and good ones, and that the lake feeds on memories. But taking the memories can cause a corrupted soul. Since there are souls wandering the lake. You fished one up in The Lake as well. Mr Owl and Mr Crow have probably done this several times before, and now have to solve the problem of the wandering souls. Which Mr Owl seems to think is going to be Dale's job.

I fell asleep last night before I could finish 😅 You're giving so much consideration to every detail and I love it! The notes definitely look like Mr. Crow is the pov character here. Can I tell you my interpretation of the ending scene?

@@cecewho there's so much that's not directly explained in these games and can be open to interpretation! Which is both really fun and frustrating 😆 but it also feels like the whole story is a huge puzzle to work out! I think the voice at the end saying things like "your memories belong to the lake now," is Mr. Crow speaking to the corrupted soul. It's weird bc some of the statements seem so abstract, like "all that you touch you change," but I think what he's doing is trying to convince the corrupted soul to let go of Harvey and leave the Mill.
