*Cubot have said this phone will get absolutely no updates whatsoever. No security patches or OS upgrade. Everything shown in the video is what Cubot calls final. So with that I would highly recommend going with something that has a least some form of a security patch* A massive thank you to Cubot for sending me this sample out for review! I really do appreciate it! I hope this video has covered most of the main things about the phone. You can purchase it here if you like: Aliexpress: www.aliexpress.com/item/1005006737424563.html Hafury Official: hafury.com/Smartphones/V1 My opinions in this video are my own, I am not being paid by AliExpress or CUBOT they have just sent out the sample for me to review which is what I like to do. I have to select "paid promotion" on RU-vid as I received something of value from a third party. - I hope you all enjoyed this review! I think I managed to cover everything. cubot sent me empty parcel and rejects refund claims despite providing proofs - steal and not worth to lose money on their stuff, if they would be fair I would not comment, but everyone deserves to know how ignorant their support is
it's not bad, i was expecting something like a welcome but it's good for the most part. i like the back screen, and the fact that you can have a "cheap" iphone look as well. for a teenager should be fine, for others you have plenty of choices to go with. 7/10.
Would love to see the tablet boombox in your Tacky Tablets series! It was a fun one for me to play with, but would really love your thoughts / review of it.
Honestly this is a pretty good phone for the price and having a screen on the back even if it's a small one and the Camera Quality is very good overall it's a great phone at a good price but wouldn't recommend it if they removed all the "Fashion" gimmicks and made it a little bit cheaper it would be an amazing phone to get
think you could give volt the app a try, it does what galaxy app booster does but for other devices helped me out use low end devices a bit better for sure, available from android 7.0 though so welcome phones 😅
Not a bad runner at all if you're on a budget! Cubot have always at least tried to make an effort though they're quite a reputable brand and they clearly had enough confidence in the device to send it to someone like smoorez who holds no punches
I think it's disappointing they don't update the phones, shows a lack of effort in my opinion. But the phone looks good otherwise! I don't think it's the greatest value because somebody can buy an older flagship phone with a refurbished battery, and it'll probably be a better phone even if its software is outdated. But since the cubot is also out of date, it is not very good compared to the old flagship. It's only advantage is new battery and fancy back screen. Maybe newer Android version and the slower C chip is more battery efficient. And replacement parts and cases would be easier to find for the flagship.
I would argue that miui is fine and usable IF you tinker with it for a bit ,disable the ads and some bloat apps.I think it took me 1 hour to set everything up on my poco f5 .
Review Motorola flipout (plz) Like it runs android 2.1 BUT i can help u install 2.3.7 cuz i recovered missing custom rom (it was taken down years ago cuz false positives)
I wouldn't be surprised if the usage of the back display is so limited in all of these phones because they probably are using smartwatch hardware/software on them, it literally has all the functions a cheap smartwatch would have if you look at it (time, notifications, battery, music)
Now it be really cool to get a phone with e-ink back which I think of Russian company already did. But having e-ink back means that you can customize your phone
My Pixel 6A battery is getting weak, and I looked at the 7, which still only has 128gb (i know i can pay $50 more for 256) and i can't find a reputable 6a battery source, but this "50mp" camera looks worse than my 32MP, esp the stabilization. I'll probably look at the amoled poco. if it has decent cameras. i don't want to buy a new phone, but after 2.5 hrs on YT, my battery is 45% and the phone is 42 degrees celsius. anyway, fun to see a new gimmick. I know i'm not paying $550 for the pixel 7 just to get 18 more megapixels in the camera, and wireless charging. I'd rather replace my battery, but all the sellers are sus, reviewers saying the "new" one is worse than their 2 yr old battery, and some say it dies at 45%, or stops charging a week later.
I really like the look of making the camera bump symmetrical (but not touching the edge) and having the small screen in it. It evens things out, makes the iphone triple steampunk goggle lens thing (does anyone actually think that looks good?) stand out less.
I rather like this phone. The fashion case is fun but something I spotted made me laugh. The mirror that looks like a perfume bottle has Parum on it which means "Moth". I had originally thought it was Parfum which would have made sense. 🤔 The camera was really OK for a budget phone. The pretty flowers were OK but not as well defined in previous photos. Froggos ere OK. I can't really speak to colour representation as I'm red/green colourblind. The sound was really impressive even though not stereo. It would be perfectly OK to use in the car via Aux in plus I could use it as a satnav I've used my phone for this for 10 hour drives to and from Scotland. I did worry about battery usage and heat build up but this could be OK for that purpose saving main phone's charge lol. I'm not a gamer but would be quite happy watching RU-vid or other streaming services. I would eventually not notice the notches in the screen. 😂 I do like the gimmick of the rear screen. It's fun and has some usefulness 😅 Ripley is still the beautiful star of the videos. ❤
The only annoying thing is if you have a car with the 3.5 mm aux in, And you want the phone to be hooked up to power, you're going to need a adapter for USBC to USB and headphone jack.
@@zzoinks got one. Its OK but need a 3.5 on each end ( so yet another cable) I do have a USB c to 3.5 which works really well with phone or tablet. 7in Amazon fire tablet is great for playing stored music on a long journey. 👌
Have you seen those Bluetooth to 3.5 mm adapters that you plug in to your radio and connect the phone to the Bluetooth. When it turns your radio into a Bluetooth receiver for music.
@@zzoinks I've seen them and they are not too expensive I've got a Fiio BTR5 which I've tried ( again the 3.5 on each end of a audio cable) and the sound is really good. I've developed a liking to little gadgets etc. I've even got a radio transmitter that I can plug in with either SD card or USB with my music on. 🎶
I never understood the rear screen, there's a perfectly fine screen on the other side of the phone. like for a foldable I can understand it but not for a normal slab
It doesn't make sense to me that the front camera can only do 720p video. The sensor is 32MP and it definitely has the horsepower to do 1080p, as proven by the back camera. So why would they limit the front camera to 720p when it is definitely capable of 1080p? 🤨
Just tried CoverOS and it keeps crashing. Tried a couple of other things and same result. The screen isn't really part of the Android OS, it's more a program that runs that controls the screen if that makes sense?
Lame if you could get at least the same level of functionality out of it as you can the cover screen on a zflip it could have been a really cool feature especially for such a cheap phone
Kinda dissapointing from all brands doing 1080p 30 fps instead of 60 on the budget segment . That should be the minimum . Also can these phones do 1080p on youtube but on x2 speed ?
Im sure they used one of those crappy Chinese watches and putted it in the back of the phone and just added controls to the phone so u could control the features of the watch
I wanted to check this out to buy it for my gf but the ali link redirects me to one poco phone and the other link does not show the buy it button... so.. cool hahah
Lol Hell hafury like a woman scorned. Lol just kidding. Sorry couldn't resist. The word sounds like "hath fury" or "have fury". I looked it up and in Chinese it means robust and strong.
I can clearly see that the phone was shipped to u for free - you were very careful testing it, e.g. fingerprint reader - you did not check if it's not fake like on other phones. Sad. $100 to make you say good things. Sad
I mean not only does he show all the internal whatnots and says that it’s pretty bad at gaming, he also tears the thing down. I really don’t think he’s saying anything “good” about the phone, he’s just providing a neutral opinion as usual.
nah i honestly like these kind of long videos. Extensive, real and covers practically everything. Nevertheless, i do get where you're coming from, and that's why also smoorez says that we can always skip to the timestamp we'd like to see, making the video cater to practically everyone too
Secondary screen on these phones is pretty much useless, the same happens with the TikTok-E series from Unihertz. Tho they lie in the ads about the camera capabilities, it only features the watch and camera viewfinder, not even music. If you want a 100% usable secondary screen just get a Nubia Z20 for a modern device or a Yotaphone for an outdated/eink device. I have the Z20 and it's really nice, but it has a kinda awful blue tint from the back cover, colors just look weird.
@@xXVibrantSnowXx It was never that expensive, don't trust official prices from GSMArena and such. Anyway, it's not longer supported and no longer sold, so you can buy it from whatever price you can find it second hand. I got mine for about 120€ here in Spain in good conditions. But it is the only decent non-eink back screen I have ever seen in my life. Everything else is a barely useful gimmick.
