So glad to see Carpenter find a good club to give him some at bats. His last couple years as a cardinal was rough but he's a great team ate and loved st. Louis
Yea he’s been great so far I didn’t know he would’ve been a steal tbh I revisited some of his highlights and he’s definitely a great player don’t mean to sound rude but thank you guys for him lol.
Brian Cashman looks like an absolute genius for picking up Matt Carpenter from the scrap heap. It's still early so we will see how long he actually keeps it up. Right now the Yankees are just steamrolling teams.
As a Mets fan I’ve seen a quite a bit of carpenter over the years. Seeing him just smash for the Yankees is like “yup”. Guy just has that X factor. Yankees got a huge steal with him. They will make the WS and I can promise you he will play a huge roll as to why
He's a very advanced hitter, no doubt about it. His problem seems to have been that he lacks athleticism and defensive proficiency to justify his staying in a lineup. But playing on a team with a DH, and with a favorable homefield for LHBs, his stats are gonna be buffed. Carpenter reminds me of those post-prime players that the Red Sox somehow always get for a couple years who find themselves. And it almost always has to do with the absolute madness that is Fenway Park!
The most important part of the success of the yanks in these games is if Gallo gets going. Most of the others are excellent, but if Gallo is on he blows it open.
Exactly. If Gallo hits .210 or .220 with some pop and Hicks gets back up to about .250 with a high walk rate, this team could be scary - all nine batters in the lineup type of scary.
@Barney Weiss Oh so you’re just calling every Yankees fan a bandwagon huh? I know lots of Cowboys and Lakers fans have the same kinda complex, it’s weird. Yankees fans like you are the worst.
Carpenter could have been hitting 40+ homers a year if he played for the Yankees instead of the Cardinals all those years. Seems like every single fly ball to right field is an automatic homer.
Just wait until he starts getting pitched down and away and rolls everything to the second baseman and kills rallies. He is either super hot, or super cold
The moral of the story is nobody liked it everything that Cashman invested this season because we didn’t know how things were gonna play out and the reality is if you were to ask me if we was going to be the number one team in the league I say no but boy was I wrong it feels great to be a Yankee fan and it feels great to be the number one team that runs the league we are the most dominant force
Pundits lining up to write Yankees off because of lack of moves but they don’t operate and manage a baseball team day in and day out. Hyperbole aside the Yankees historically have been well managed. Remember that two way player they signed in the 1920’s? I’m not at all an expert or a fan but this is a organization that has produced and Bronx faithful can be happy they are not Oakland.
But we all know, the Yankees are just meant to be a regular season team, they are expected each year to see October, so that's where the real test kicks in for Cashman
It has been nice as a Yanks fan this season. You notice last season we just lacked something. We were a just ok team and that’s it. This season this club is complete
Heading in to the season i knew we were gone be good but not this good weve been amazing all season lets keep this going also cappenter has been amazing since he joined us
The pitching has been an awesome surprise. Unfortunately I can’t see all 5 guys in the rotation keeping it up, just gotta hope they all don’t get cold at the same time.
Goodnes gracious Carpenter does he have power! 6 home runs already. He doesn't look like a power hitter to me. Higgy finally gets a home run, make it 2 🙌🏻 🥳 love that silent treatment lol. I was just anticipating it when he was rounding the bases. Yankees win 18-4 like Michael said "This team is rolling"
He had some pop when he was in his prime in St. Louis 36 HR a few seasons ago, so it's kinda sneaky, and he said he came into the year with a new approach to the plate and finding his mechanics.
all those years we asked for a better defense a couple of lefties, a couple contact hitters and an actual catcher.. we are witnessing what the results of that are.. the best team in baseball
@@sigerlion8608 as a New York sports fan how could you not root for a subway series? The excitement for that would be unreal, and it would help the sport grow immensely.
@@sigerlion8608 fair point haha. I’m a diehard Yankee fan and was way too young to remember that, so I’m praying for the opportunity to see a subway series World Series again.
1:37. I am really loving the "Circle" motion that all the Yankee hitters motion back to the dugout this year! The "Circle" motion is "just keep the carousel going hit after hit." Round and round the base runners are going!
They have to do it in the playoffs. I've seen teams have great regular seasons, but fail in the playoffs. Playoffs are a different monster. I'm not saying they will lose in the playoffs, but that's where it really counts.
At 1:02. This fan exhibited great athletic ability to catch this ricochet foul ball and had room for a well deserved but tasteful and entertaining celebration. I cannot compliment this fan enough for this very quick reaction. Let’s face it folks. We come to the ballpark game ready but not THIS kind of game ready. WHAAAAAAAT A PLAY!!!!!!!!!
I can't help but say, I love the hustle from all of the guys! I'm sure every pitcher who pitches to us yanks are nervous beyond belief. Let's keep this train rolling fellas!!!!
Did you not see hes previous 3 seasons in STL? I wouldnt of been too excited but the Yanks are getting the Carp we knew was there we just got impatient with him...
Don't want to get ahead of myself and say this Yankee team will win it all, but boy am I having fun watching them. I'm actually kinda sad they have an off day today lol.
This is the team to beat this year. & If this team continues to get great starting pitching, that is not happening. This is the best team in the MLB and it's not even close.
Sh*t bout to get real following tomorrow's off day. 3 vs TB, 3 @ TOR, 3 @TB and 4 vs HOU. TB and TOR have some of their best pitchers lined up and we'll likely see Verlander or Valdez, if not both. A little playoff baseball sampler platter.
What a year the Yankees of 1998 but the Yankees of 1928 was the best team in baseball with Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Bob Mesusel, Tony Lazzeri, Mark Koening, and Comb, the Murder Row.
Is Matt carpenter secretly a Mattingly clone 🤔 just asking..the swing the stash the eye black out seriously I thought it was a yankees classic game on lol
Wow😱 if they keep going like this the yankee's will be the first team to have their entire line up hit a home run in a single game. They got close on this one. Pretty sure Jizzo blooped on purpose trying not to rub it their faces😂
I came home from watching this at the stadium. Awful weekend for your Cubbies and Yanks sweep on my birthday weekend. Mine was on Friday and I skipped the night game which they won 2-1 in 13 innings lmao.
See as a Yankees fan I'm a bit complexed, because I love watching the Yankees win, but I also don't wanna see us kill every team we play... it'd be a bit boring if every game was a blowout dub. Give me some nail-biters lol
@Barney Weiss Not wrong, soccer is my favorite sport. I’ve been a “Yankees fan” since forever, as they’re my parents’ team and I’m a New York sports fan in general, but I’ve only been getting into baseball more recently. So I’m really sorry if me not wanting to see blowouts every single game somehow makes me a bandwagoner.
Yknow the Yankees have had a large amount of bases loaded walks this year. First time I thought it would be a fluke, but it has happened way more than I expected it to. Ofc its part on the pitcher, but it speaks to how everybody in the lineup works counts and has competitive ABs
I am from Europe and didn't know too much about Baseball till 2011, when I went to NYC and was at one game at Yankee Stadium and I love the game immediately (somethings are still confusing... I admit). In my Country and hometown there is nobody I know who played Baseball in his/hers Life, so I am just curious: Why are Cubs somehow like underdogs in Baseball (remembering Back to the Future)? Do they have not enough support money, management is never good, players are from some particular place where people don't like Baseball to much... I really have no idea, so I am asking.
They are the lovable losers. It was said that they were cursed by a Farmer (Billy Goat Curse) to never win the WS. Then, they never managed to win anything, even winning an NL pennant. It lasted 108 years and was the longest winless streak that people started to just feel bad about them.
