Cue-Centered Therapy, or CCT, is an intervention for youth with chronic traumatic experiences. CCT empowers youth with knowledge and tools to address chronic trauma symptoms. This includes how traumatic cues develop, learning understanding how they affect current functioning, and practicing and developing adaptive strategies.
CCT applies principles of psychoeducation, classical conditioning, exposure, and narrative therapy to advance best practices in trauma treatment within the context of chronic exposure to trauma and adversity.
This online course was designed by the creators of CCT, Dr. Victor Carrion, Dr. Ryan Matlow, and Dr. Hilit Kletter of the Early Life Stress and Resilience Program at Stanford University. It is intended for mental health professionals who have experience with evidence-based interventions and treatment of trauma, and covers fundamentals which should be invaluable to any mental health professional.
The course consists of self-paced, interactive modules covering the rationale,
goals, techniques, and resources for each session of the treatment. Though CCT is standardized for children ages 8 to 18 years, it remains flexible for accommodating youth of varied age, trauma type, developmental level, and background. That is why in this course we'll meet four different children, Tasha, Nelson, Brian, and Michelle, across a series of short audiobook chapters. Join us as we observe their therapy sessions, and follow their journeys of self-knowledge and empowerment.
The course is available on the Med Education Learning Platform: mededucation.stanford.edu/cou...
The course activity has been approved for AMA PRA Category 1 Credits by the Stanford University School of Medicine.
The content within this course is the property of the Stanford Early Life Stress and Resilience Program, directed by Dr Victor Carrión: med.stanford.edu/elspap.html
