Cujo (1981) is a psychological horror novel by Stephen King. The novel won the British Fantasy Award in 1982,[1] and was made into a film of the same name in 1983.
Besides the child's death, the book has much more emphasis on Cujo's soul, thoughts and feelings... Much more sad. Movie - horror, original book - tragedy.
Stephen King said that killing Tad in the book was the one character he regretted killing off so he was able to change Tad's fate in the screenplay which he had power to do so that he could at least see what his story would be like with him surviving =)
esta pelicula es un ejemplo de como una madre no perdio la fe y logro salvar a su unico hijo , a mi en particular me usto mucho la pelicula, muy buena actriz la senora,
In the film, Tad was dying from dehydration and sunstroke, Donna exited the car, she saw Cujo who came from downstairs, she grabbed Brett's baseball bat and beaten him. When the baseball bat broken, she fell down, Cujo was charging at her, she impaled him in stomach. She gets off the seemed dead Cujo off, she grabbed sheriff's revolver and broken glass. She entered the kitchen and gave Tad water and breathing in mouth for mouth, Tad revived, she hugged him. Suddenly, Cujo jumped into the window, she grabbed sheriff's revolver, when Cujo lunged at her, she shot him. Vic was arrived in Camber house, she reunited with Donna and Tad
Slightly different than the book in a few parts, but overall a more accurate representation of the source material than most of the other Stephen King novels. Thanks for uploading this. My local library didn't have it.
In the book, Donna grabbed Brett's baseball bat and beaten Cujo, when the bat broken, when Cujo charging at her, she impaled his eye instead. She grabbed sheriff's revolver and broken glass, Tad was dying from dehydration and sunstroke. When she brought him to kitchen, she called paramedics to help, she tried to save him, but it's too late. When paramedics arrived, Donna was infected by Cujo after he bitten her in stomach and her leg. She bitten paramedic, leaving him infected. She was losing her mind because of rabies. When Vic arrived, paramedics cured Donna from Cujo's rabies and paramedics cut off Cujo's head. Paramedic was infected by Donna, but was killed. Vic arrived, Donna cured, but Tad died.
After this scene, Donna explain to her husband the whole horrible incident they've experienced. She even shown Cujo's dead body, along with the cop's dead body. Vic called the police, the ambulance to take Donna and Ted to the emergency room, and called the neighbours too, to explained everything of what've happened. The owners apologized to the Trenton's family for their dog's actions for they had no knowledge of Cujo's rabies, stating he was a very good dog before he turn into a savage monster. Furthermore, Steve Kemp was arrested for vandalism and breaking-entering, never to bother Donna and her family again.
It takes a fool to feel compassion for a murderous animal, a highly dangerous animal. It doesn't matter what the causes of its aggressiveness are, whatever it is, it is a very serious danger for anyone and must be annihilated without any kind of compassion.
Wait! If the dog was rabid, wouldn't it've killed Donna when he took a bite on her leg? Since bats are deadly, they put the venom into the dog that made the dog go bonkers and kill every individual that stood in it's way, except Donna and Tad. I know it is just movie logic, but I just think that Donna should have died from the wound. My opinion. Cujo is still a good film. R.I.P Cujo, an innocent Saint Bernard.
Metalhead 200 You have several days to get the rabies shots I believe it's ten days or 2 weeks .If you don't get the shot soon after getting bit you will die ,once the virus has spread to your brain it's all over.
3 healthy men killed easily by cujo, yet olive oil manhandles him several times at will. those are movie killers for me. that robbed alot of the suspense along witb the many holes. i found myself cheering and mourning for cujo.
shes a mom.... lol need i say more :P if shes as nuts as me even wihtout kids... it wouldnt stand a chance... thumbs eyes... easy. i watch walking dead :D
They were more caught off guard. When Cujo attacked them, they were not in hiding nor were they fully aware of what the threat was in particular. As for this lady, when Cujo attacked she was lucky enough to be in a car and have days to build her nerve.
It was a bad ending. Something more could've happened. Like Cujo survived but he was unconscious. Now. With that ending. I'm waiting for the movie with the name of: "Cujo Returns"
William B Well that's true.. But I just want a better ending :/ Not that Cujo dies and they get rescued and then. Right. The end... So why not make them help Cujo or something... I don't like this. I want a long ending. This is like in the "the lord of the flies" Ralph almost dies but he trips and sees a military. They are GOING to get rescued. Then.. Right... The end. Nothing more happens..
In the book, Thad dies, the disease finally kills Cujo and his head is cut off. If this movie were done today, it would be followed by nine origin movies.
We love this film. I thought that it was a great way of showing my Daughter just what Rabies can do to an animal. My Daughter and myself thought that the 2 dogs used to make this film, and the boy were great Actors.
And now it's time for COVID-JOE a movie about a man bitten by a bat when camping out that leads to a pandemic. Funny how bats ended up being minted on quarters . The powers that be sure got jokes for us.
3:09 Cujo:Nice try Donna Beethoven:Cujo stop and think about what you’re doing you’re sick Cujo:Unless you don’t want me to kill you little Brother you keep your mouth shut
Except that I saw this as a kid. But it was so long ago I forgot pretty much all of it. Obviously not when I was a year old. But really effing young enough to timeout of the room alot..This was still a big horror film in kindergarten... It came up.
I'm I the only that noticed she didn't have the gun with her when she was carrying her child inside the house, then suddenly when Cujo jumps in she's picks the gun up from the table!
i really hope people who make their dogs grow humongous will see this movie. i saw lots of people with dogs bigger than horses and who knows what they feed them or what meds they give them to make them that huge. i cant imagine what's gonna happen when they get rabid. the dog cld swallow them whole if it wont cut off their head first.
Is that the wallpaper pattern, or Cujo's remains splattered all over the wall lol! Wonder if Vic called an ambulance first, or bombarded an exhausted and probably barely able to speak by then Donna with a load of questions about what the hell happened!
What a ending.. You can imagine the dad take them to the hospital. You ever think something happen to Donna if she gonna die? she might have rabies cause she got bit by Cujo.
I don't like that rabies was cast as the culprit here. He lingered way too long in a crazed state, and in a condition to run and attack. Rabies pretty much debilitates its victim pretty quickly. He should have been easily overpowered even by a woman. It was more like he was possessed by an evil spirit.
In some ways, the movie has its extremity... However, Cujo was a 120kg doggie. And a rabid can behave in real life like that in the movie. Usually it takes at least 4-6 days for a dog to become really debilitated. After this, the serious damage of the nerval system makes most of the the animal's muscles paralyzed... Then, after the 5-15th (!) day of infection, it dies :(
It would of already been too late to do anything about it. You see, when a living organism comes into contact with rabies, you should get them to a hospital or a vet. Once they start showing signs of rabies, it's far too late...
at least they kinda kept to the story line.. however in the book the boy dies. Hell of a lot better than Stephen King's IT movie!! Thanks for taking the time to upload this movie!! :D
I wonder what happened next after Vick is finally back with Donna and their son? Did he asked what happened and she shows him Cujo's dead body?? Is there still a chance for Donna to get vaccinated?
they could use a rottweiler or doberman and against cujo.they have the strongest bite force and I'am sure if cujo was against one of them he would be teared to shreds.
@SteelHyaena Your so right, and i havent read the book in a while but i thought after she kills him with the bat he doesn't try to come back again with this kind of the book very little tweaking would have made it such a better movie
Severus Jake Not really. That dog was just sick, and unfortunately there wasn't any way to help him except to put him out of his misery. It would kill me if I had to do that with any of my dogs. I love them so.
+Lucinda Mobley That's right. Once an animal succumbs to rabies, there's no hope for them. They will attack anything in sight, and will die slowly and painfully from the disease. And there is no other option but to put them down so that they don't become a threat to others.
MDthornton83 Ain't that the truth. I also think that's true for people. As I understand it, the only thing that you can do for a person with rabies is to give them some kind of shot that helps prevent the spread of rabies in the allotted amount of time. After that it's only a matter of time.
she shot cujo in right time after her husband drive into joe camber's place then carnage ends plus donna and her son tad joins vic outside.....movie roll credits!
I’m probably thinking of getting the book and the movie but I’ll have to find a Barnes & Noble‘s anywhere that has it or any bookstore that has it and not a library because I wouldn’t even finish it by then and also it would be kind of hard to find the movie
At 3:21 Cujo don't look like a Saint Bernard Anymore. Can anyone tell me why that was the only moment we see him not looking like a Saint Bernard anymore?
Holy different ending. I wish they kept it the same. Tad dies in the book and her husband finds her beating the crap out of Cujo with the bat. She goes to the hospital. I'm sad for Cujo, I hate seeing animals get hurt.
I'm reading the book, still have more to go the book and movie are a little similar with the book u get more detail on the story. The movie shows you the story.(for some not the way they pictured it when reading the story.)
