At first glance, people in a former mining town in the north-east of England might not have much in common with aboriginal Australians, but a British academic says they do.
To prove it, he has brought the two cultures together.
Al Jazeera's Andrew Thomas reports.

I’m Indigenous and I can agree with him to a certain extent every British person I’ve met is much more informed and shocked about it then white Australia. Brits actually get it. And if you look back in the history books when Australia asked for federation there were some who revolted in England because of the treatment of indigenous peoples, the British empire at the time didn’t want to deal with that discussion so in the end caved and let the colonist in Australia deal with it - as we know they never actually came to treaty with us.

So much self-righteousness from the English. And yet they were the ones who settled Australia and caused so much mischief in many parts of the world(America,India, Africa and many parts of Asia).
