Just wanted to say thanks for making this video. Recently rebuilt my 47re to handle my new twins and a bunch of other hp upgrades and this video really gave me the confidence to give it a try. The way you calmly explain everything really takes the fear out of a pretty complicated task. I would highly recommend any one doing this to get the ATSG manual, worth every penny.

I don't know what kind of power he's making with his Cummins but it would have been a great time to make some relatively inexpensive upgrades as cheap insurance. If your VB is making more that stock line pressure a billet 2nd gear strut and anchor is a no brainer. Also a billet shift accumulator that has an additional seal on it to replace the plastic one would have been a great idea. Maybe even a 4.2 lever and a billet 2nd gear servo cover. The additional cost would have been minimal with the trans already open.

68rfe don’t have band struts cause it has no bands, and railwelder if you’d of not been browsing you’d heard/saw he replaced all steels and clutches

i like your vids but you need a tripod. or you could set up the cam in your loft and do timelapse it would look sick and you wouldn't have to waste time explaining stuff constantly although that's one of the best parts so you could just have a second camera angle to jump to when editing. i made some project videos on RU-vid i know how time consuming it can be to document your work. keep it up yer kicking ass

i blew mine last month. still reassembling, sourcing parts/upgrading has taken way longer than i wanted. my clutches were burnt, black, and steels were warped. the trans had 15K miles on it when it blew. im sitting at about 1750ft/lbs of torque

If I were you, I put 2 oil coolers and a biggest pan . On mine I have stock oil cooler, and I added 1 from mishimoto and 1 biggest pan, and it s really good ! Because what is kill this trans. Is hot inside.

Yeah it's called a doubler you get both low ranges from both t cases so instead of your stock tcase low you would have another reducing the reduction from the first t case

I have a 06 5.9 Cummins I had my transmission rebuild But now the truck won’t go over 80 Sometimes 70 On the speedometer I was told i had to get a tune so it can go over The truck is 100% stock Stock turbo thinking about upgrading turbo

some what off topic but I'm new to trans rebuilding I have a 47rh from a v10 that I got dirt cheap how hard is it to swap the governor weights to the brass ones so i can run it behind my 12v

hi man. thank you for you video .. I has question Dodge ram 2500 5.9 l i my second gear is has a delay sometime is never engage, already replace solenoid, and governor, but is noting change, now the delay for second gear is more, any suggestion? thank you so much

It was just a core from the junkyard. I was expecting full rebuild along with manual valve body conversion but only issue was broken 3-4 acu spring. Shift kit included that spring so just slammed it back together as is and buddy is loving it.

Just to clarify... The forward clutch is NOT used in reverse. It's used in all forward gears.... hence the name... It is the rearmost of the two clutches hence is called the rear/forward clutch. The direct clutch IS used in reverse along with the low reverse band. For second gear the intermediate(second) band grabs while the forward clutch is still engaged.. For drive(3rd) the band lets go and the direct grabs along WITH the forward clutch locking it together as 'one big chunk' and creating a 'direct' drive. Up to this point the 800# spring loaded 'direct' clutch in the o/d unit is engaged. When it hits fourth (o/d) The front/direct AND the rear/forward are still both engaged AND.... finally the o/d piston overrides the spring and simultaneously releases the 'direct' clutch in the OD unit and engages the O/D clutch.. And it feels wonderful.... lol... Happy truckin!

I’m trying to figure out what’s wrong with it soon as you start the truck it’s in gear whether it’s in park reverse neutral it’s going forwards it doesn’t have reverse what’s wrong with it how can I fix it

Yup you can get nv4500 or nv5600 from any manual trans cummins 98.5+ or g56 from 06-12 and it will work in your truck. You will need to update the tuning to a manual trans os too.

Better to BUY a DODGE 3500 with a AISIN TRANSMISSION. Aisin transmission is used in the 3500 (optional) & 4500 & 5500. DODGE rates this transmission @ CGVW 39,000. TRAILER = 32,000 plus 8,700 pickup. I bought a new DODGE with Aisin transmission. Need to sell my low mileage DODGE pickup, Cummins with Aisin transmission. When you see a DODGE PICKUP, pulling a 3 or 4 car hauler Trailer, that DODGE is Cummins & Aisin. Aisin is the world's largest manufacturer of transmissions in the World. Stronger than Allison transmission. Just buying my pickup will be much easier & much CHEAPER, than converting to manual transmission. Plus my DODGE is all Factory Original. No shade tree engineered. Cutting drive shaft, u-joints, cutting transmission tunnel, shifter, shifter boot, ect., Ect., ECT. IT'S a bottomless money pit. The the manual transmission is rated by DODGE to tow less. When DODGE builds a new DODGE pickup with Cummins & manual transmission, dodge LOWERS the horsepower of that engine. Yes, DODGE derates, so the manual transmission can stand up to Cummins Power. Also the Aisin transmission is a Commercial Truck transmission, that has P.T.O. block off plates. You can install hydraulic pump on the left or right side. Or use a P.T.O. SHAFT to drive a air compressor or winch. I can drive this 3500 to your front door for $2.00 / miles. Just leave a comment for me.

Troy Lee pretty straight forward it’s an easy rebuild. Get a manual and you’ll do fine.

I just research theory of operation and read other peoples experiences online till I'm 95% confident on how it works. Once you understand how something works its fairly simple to tear it apart to repair or make modifications.

Hey me again I'm 90% sure the wife is gonna let me have the jeep done by you ... the biggest issue we need to overcome is the whole shipping and receiving and again once you are done with the jeep I guess keep in touch if u have any idea how we can make that part work out .. then we can have the jeep at your shop !!!!

I have a easier fix for the junk dodge automatic transmission. Buy a DODGE with the AISIN transmission. Sell your DODGE Cummins/weak auto. Next buy a DODGE with the Cummins with AISIN transmission, problem solved. And much cheaper than rebuilding a weak transmission. And much much, much, CHEAPER THAN REBUILDING THE WEAK TRANSMISSION THE SECOND OR THIRD TIME 🤔
