Good video, 1 of the biggest problems the Cummins fuel systems have is contamination. Before you do any work on the system pressure wash and brake clean the are and components your removing.
The isx is a gentle beast if you wanna have premature failure of everything change the oil every 30 40k . Oil 10-12k coolant every 24months only use part number matching filters. Do not idle the isx under 1000rpm oil pressure to low. This is all in the cummins owner's manual that nobody ever reads .
Hi everyone, good job man, that part is very expensive, my kw has a isx 450 HP , and the fuel pump went bad, and that problem cost me 6,500 dollars. No good.
For the love of donuts ppl, clean the dirt off with carb cleaner/brake Kleen before ya start and practice clean care. Cummins covers this under a TRP/campaign on affected engines don’t know why people pay for the parts themselves. The head is also checked under the campaign. If you screw this up you could be talking a new fuel pump minimum all the way up to new engine.
Cummins in Commerce City Co and the KW dealer in Kearney Nebraska both are telling me I can't just the tappets any more just the head with the upgraded tappets. I'll check again...maybe neither parts guys know. Thanks!
Cummins says I need to buy the fuel pump head which will have the updated tapped. Question is were you able to get just the upgraded tappets separately? I'm being told otherwise. Thanks!
Any cummins dealers. Like peterbilt or kw. Or you can go directly to cummins. But the price same. I dont remember exact price. It was arround $300 back then.

La2ndeGuerre ceramic plungers were on 2250 motors 2011-2013. After 200,000-300,000miles they break into particles and go into main bearing galleries. After that all engine basicly junk. Ceramic is like a sand it goes through all oil galeries , destroys everything. In 2013 cummins started put steel plungers. However they also can break and metal particles do the same like ceramic. I recommend to replace them every 400,000miles. It will be cheap insurance $500 versus $25000

А как узнать что они плохие? На моем траке мотор 2013 года но очень плохо тянет не даёт полный буст турбо, ето может быть связано с fuel pump. No check engine light.

@@simonsays6924 Иногда код загорается на fuel injector cylinder #6. SPN0655 Fuel pump здесь уже поменян, но ета верхняя часть что ты снял, она красная осталась original. Может она плохая?
