My theory for this song is about losing love for someone. The line “Oh circumcise my love for you” could mean uncover my love for you or reveal my love for, so showing his true feelings. When he says “It’s far to vapid and aimless” which means he can’t see where he relationship is going. “I wanna be painless” Saying he wishes he didn’t feel hurt by the the person he’s in a relationship with. “How can Cupid, how could you be so cruel” I strongly believe this mean how could Cupid make him love someone that hurts him or how could the Cupid make him love someone just to break up.
I really like this theory the only thing I disagree with is your interpretation of the line circumcise my love for you. I think to understand the line we need to understand the reason for religious circumcision which is metaphorical and physical control over one's urges. The character wants his love to be modified to a more controlled form because he's obsessed with someone harmful to himself.
Most people think that this song is about a person killing themself over a heartbreak but I actually think it might be about the loss of a lover. I think that the gunshot is the singers spouse killing themself or being killed and when he asks “how could Cupid be so cruel?” He’s really saying “why did I have to fall in love with a person that would die?” And he thinks Cupid is evil for making people fall in love just for it to be taken away.
I think this song has a lot of meaning. I think the creature crawling in Jacks is meant to represent the love he has for someone (because it is the one that sings the song), messing with his brain and emotions making him act differently. Jack is depressed and wants this to end, so he gets rid of it by shooting himself in the ear, hence why the creature in his ear gets shot and killed. And that’s why the voice at the end asks if there’s any skeletons in the closet.
Ok I’ll give it a shot: This is about someone with anxiety in a relationship, (maybe his first, maybe not), that doesn’t know what or how to love another person (“Its far too vapid and aimless”). But he wants to feel good about being with someone and doesn’t want it to end, he wants the other person to make him feel good about himself by knowing he is loved (“I wanna be painless, love soldier”).So he becomes obsessed with it and tries everything to make it work, “loving” and not giving any space to the partner (hence the monster crawling towards the other person). Obviously it doesn’t work, so the partner wants to get away from that monster, and it eventually ends in a breakup (and even after the breakup, the obsessive monster still wants to feel loved in any way possible: “I want closure”) :( I hate being like that, but I am.
I think your explanation of the lyrics' meaning is pretty accurate, but you left off an important piece: the gunshot In my opinion this can be interpreted in 3 ways 1 - He gets conscious of his behavior, and tries to redeem himself by 'killing his inner monster' and makes up with his partner. 2 - After seeing how he's getting to nowhere and making everything worse, he ends up in a depressive state because he wasn't loved back, and at the end, he commits suicide. 3 - he's obsession towards his partner ends up as hatred, then again because he wasn't loved back. Later on, he kills them and hides the body but he's caught "('Cause they're gonna find out if there are any skeletons in the closet)" At least those are my point of views.

my theory (joke): Jack Stauber has an ear goblin problem, so he invented a mini pistol to kill them whenever they come, and this one had a major relationship with jacks ear, and jack was annoyed so much that he killed it himself, instead of having someone killing it for him.
I think the use of the word "circumcise" is very deliberate. Male circumcision slightly reduces pleasure but also reduces chance of infection. I think the guy is saying he'd rather give up happiness in exchange for his mental health. He doesn't want love he wants to stop hurting.

I think it's supposed to be a brain, considering that your brain doesn't have the ability to feel pain, and that if he followed his brain more than his heart he wouldn't get heart broken.
