EQ can be measured with the Mayer-Salovey-Caruso Emotional Intelligence Test or MSCEIT, which is scored via consensus. There's also DANVA, JACBART, STEU and STEM measurements. These use varying methods, including identifying emotional states on different pictures of human faces. None of these are perfect, but neither are traditional IQ tests. You should do more research. @@Patt187 I think you misunderstand my position. Standard IQ tests do not take into account the complex nature of the human intellect and its different components. They test on speed and accuracy in terms of analytical intelligence, but do not in the slightest bit measure intensive consideration/understanding or nuanced perceptive reasoning. IQ measures a *type* of intelligence but it's widely acknowledged that there are many types of intelligence, including emotional intelligence. The idea that you can measure a concept as vague and broad as "intelligence" with a singularly-scoped test like an IQ test is far-fetched. This doesn't mean IQ tests are useless or totally inaccurate, it means that they paint an incomplete picture. Testing solely on logic and pattern identification while ignoring soft skills like one's command over vocabulary or their ability to debate is a fundamental flaw in the test. Furthermore, IQ tests don't test for thought processes, they test for results. A person could be more thorough in the number of approaches they take towards solving a problem, ultimately reach the correct conclusion, and score lower than someone who objectively solved it faster but considered less possibilities. You can't gauge the intensity of thought process, in other words, only in the end result. This is perhaps just an issue with tests themselves, though.
