What a marvelous topic of inquiry! You must be having so much fun! As you mention, not all fairies are celtic. I'm always interested in the fact that so many depictions of fairies, fairy houses, etc. are white - never any other color! So much to think about here. Thanks, Linda!

I've read four of the five books you listed and wholeheartedly agree with your choices. I would also add the books of John Kruse who has written several books on various aspects of fairy folklore and most of them are free to read on Kindle Unlimited, in the UK at least. And just as an FYI, Ceri is a Welsh name and it's pronounced 'Kerry' 😊

I chose of books you mentioned just main theme and author biography briefly here it’s faerie is book written and illustrated by English artist Brian Froud and Alan lee . Illustrated compendium of faerie mythology legends and folklore. The book explores history , costumes and habits of faeries in manners , field guide , complete with hand annotations. Brain Froud ( born in 1947 ) he is English fantasy, illustrator and conceptual designer . He is most widely known for his book faeries. As conceptual designer of Jim Henson films dark crystal and labyrinth. According to wired Froud is one of most preeminent visualizers of world faeries and folktales. He won notable awards such as Hugo award, Chesley award , inkpot award concept art award . Most recently Froud developed 2019 streaming television series dark crystal. Age of resistance, his wife Wendy Froud is puppet maker and sculptor . His son Toby ( born in 1984 ) is puppeteer and creator fabricator , working alongside with his parents dark crystal: age of resistance as design supervisor . Iam so sorry to be little long but reading and writing both are great ways to improve our English as none native speakers. Good luck to you your dearest ones .

How are you doing mrs Linda . Thank you for your wonderful cultural channel and reminding us of our beautiful childhood memories . I was searching topic about fairy I remember cartoon sad story of little mermaid and prince and her sacrifice and great love written by danish author Hans Christian Anderson. Definition of fairies are known for their magical powers , but also pike playing pranks on people and animals alike . Fairy lore their varying forms coming most significantly from oral traditions of Celtic, Germanic, Ancient Greek myth . They have turned in Arabic literature and sankirt . Last year I found out if child loses his first tooth. His parents told him tooth fairy will take lost tooth and giving child one dollar instead in American channels and it’s European myth . Fairy lore concerns beliefs about elves, dwarfs , gnomes , trolls , mermaids, brownies, proxies, leprechauns and many others beings found in world folklore. As I learned thereare creatures such as big foot and New Jersey devil .
