I'm going to attempt to cut my 73-year-old mom's hair since she can't go to a salon right now given the pandemic (and I wouldn't let her even if she were in a state where they were open). I have NEVER done this before. This looks like her texture and I'm really liking the details you're giving in this tutorial. Hoping for the best for both our sakes!

Thanks for the video! My daughter has super thick, curl hair and we've had zero luck with salons! These are trained professionals. Why go into the business if you can't do all hair types. 😒
Unless you went to Cosmetology school or know someone who’s gone to cosmetology school then most people don’t realize that they teach you the basics to pass the state board. I went to Paul Mitchell and every once in awhile we would have a specialty class on how to do different hairstyles and how to work with different textures of hair but for the most part it was just the basics. For example in my classes I was only taught how to do a one leg haircut, a graduated haircut and layers. I was also only taught how to cut men’s hair two different ways and I only had one class on how to cut curly hair. Once you have completed your classroom hours they then have you do two weeks as a protégé following under a student who’s already on the floor once you’re on the floor then you can start doing clients hair and that’s really when you start learning how to do different techniques on how to work with different types of hair. In my case I really didn’t have a lot of guests with curly hair so I never really had a chance to work on it.
That's an adorable haircut- it reminds me of the black wig Lucille Ball tried on in an episode of I Love Lucy.If I were going to cut my hair short,it would be this haircut.
well my twin and me have natural curly hair, so always look for videos, and we got to this one, we just could not stop laughing, the cut got worse and worse, first we thought it was satire, but it obviously was not..... we definitely would not come to you but you gave us a good time laughing.....

Hey, I think you're great btw! Since the Corona pandemic my 73 yr old mom needs some work done on her unruly hair. She's always worn it short. As short as a pixie cut but she's got thick curly red hair. Im an amateur and play around with it. Id love to see a tutorial for women in their 70 + who still got it. Lots of women cut their hair very short. I want to surprise her with a haircut. I already have red hair dye, just need to know how to do it. Not sure if you even read these or take random request to do specific cuts/styles for your fans. Again, that was a great tutorial, I already learned something 🤸♀️🙆

When I asked for a pixie cut from my hair dresser ( with the same texture as your mannequin) she said it couldn't be done. I now understand that she was probably inexperienced. What terms would I use t o describe a curly pixie cut more easily to a stylist?
Well I think I might get my hair cut like this after my buzz cut grows in. There's not really a whole lot of guides on how to help women with curly hair grow out their buzz cuts.
How should I do this if I want a little longer than the way it was cut in the video? My bangs come down to about the bottom of my ear and I want everything at least that length except for at my nape and a little above that. I haven't been able to find any references for my hair type- they're either bobs or really short and I want it to still frame my face. I also want to be able to part my hair down the middle.

I'm sorry I am a bit awkward anyways I am thinking about getting a pixie cut soon but the things that stop me is that my hair type is that annoying curly frizzy and even wavy,so if I get a pixie cut will it cool down or just become a huge mess.

Emily House I dont know if it's a bit late to respond but just do what you want. I'm 16 and I need a change right now so I'll just cut my hair short no matter what people say. if you like it people will also like it and won't bully you because of your hair cut. I hope I helped you :)
Emily House No!! This cut loos super cute on curly hair!! I have curly hair like this and have the same cut and have never been bullied ever, I've always gotten compliments on my hair. Do what you want to do!! You can always straighten your hair also-but you really don't need them to bc this cut is awesome for curly girls!!

My hair looked like a fur ball when it was long. I have curly, thick hair that gets frizzy. (Since cutting, it's a bit more wavy.) Super wild, tangles all in my hair, and so hard to manage. Once I cut it into a pixie, it looks good. Of course, there is frizz if I don't put water or anything, but it's wayyyy tamer. I just need to figure out how to style it.

Melissa Tennant It depends on how short. I have really curly hair and when I got an undercut the underside of my hair laid down more flat while the top remained still very curly. As the underside grew out, it began to regain some of its curl. So what he said made sense, to me at least.
