Can see this channel blowing up! I'm 22 myself and have always trained similar to Arnold, inspired by his encyclopedia to bodybuilding. Great to see a RU-vidr offer really informative videos on classic training. Could you possibly put out a video on mobility/stretching/warming up? I find Arnold's book is a bit dated when it comes to this and would be interested to see how you approach it. Keep up the great work man, support from Ireland!

@VintageGenetics

I'll definitely keep these lines, I will never go for the mass, that's not why I'm a bodybuilder. I love the sport because of the slow process, if it would go too fast it would become boring. Slow and steady, carving the statue that is your own physique, that's what classic bodybuilding is about!

Good Video Bro! I've been following you on RU-vid for about a month now. You haven't been tainted by the "Money" part as you are growing (Online). I've got you on Instagram and Facebook too. I watch a lot of videos , I can't put my finger on what different, or why I'm drawn to them. Except that you come off real genuine, honest. You really have me making my own workouts focusing on my own lagging parts using classic theory. Keep it up! Just some advise, if you want to continue to grow and get constant new people, I suggest making some "Pinterest" pages "Classic Chest" things like that. People pin the shit out of it, free advertising for your RU-vid page. Muscle pharm is all over it. Just some friendly advise Bro-Dutchman😎

Great vid buddy👏 Could u make a video about cardio? Do u prefer interval training (HIIT) or steady, not so intense cardio?
@VintageGenetics
@VintageGenetics 8 лет назад
I'll make a video about cardio for sure, it's important both while cutting AND bulking. I like doing 15-20 min after every workout except legs when bulking. A simple walk on the treadmill will do. During cutting I up my intensity and duration to 30 min.

I take about 60-90 seconds rest depending on the exercise. If it's heavy compounds usually 90 seconds. The only day I have longer rest periods is on leg day.

Hey man got a question for you...training triceps on the tuesday do you feel like it hinders Ur chest day training at all as you use triceps as a secondary muscle?....my triceps is something I want to improve too but it's very frustrating because I train them hard and this leads to my chest days not being as intense do U think it would be better to do one exercise like you did for triceps with back and then maybe again with legs or something rather than trying to do more exercises in one day and then hindering Ur chest workout? Thanks for your help bro and keep the content coming! Absolutely love it!
@VintageGenetics
@VintageGenetics 8 лет назад
I only do one exercise on that tuesday to get a good tricep pump. It won't get me sore but it will stimulate the triceps and on top of that delivers fresh nutrients to the muscle because of the pump. I won't do a full-on tricep workout before chest day because then yeah it might interact with my chest workout. But during the chest day itself, I make sure to keep my triceps out of most of the chest movements, I try to focus purely on the chest by stretching and contracting it. My chest will fatique much faster than my triceps will. And yes you should try out what you're saying. Sometimes doing too much at once could hinder gains. Splitting up your weak muscles groups throughout the week is more beneficial. I do this with triceps as you saw.

@jasonsheedy1852
@jasonsheedy1852 8 лет назад
great video mate, just a question don't you find doing triceps on Tuesday counterproductive when you are doing chest the next day on Wednesday. as when doing chest exercises the triceps are used a lot. I thought they would be sore and make it hard to get the most out of your chest workout?
@richpiranha5363
@richpiranha5363 8 лет назад
You don't Really have to worry as much about recovery when enhanced.
@VintageGenetics
@VintageGenetics 8 лет назад
I take out my triceps out of most of my chest exercises, I don't really get sore at all, only very rarely when I do something completely different. And that's why I also only do one tricep exercise on the tuesday, to get a good pump and stimulate those triceps. But I don't do a full-on tricep workout because then it might influence my chest workout the next day indeed.

+VintageGenetics do your body have more energy for morning workouts or evening,the reason i ask is because im more pumped for evenings instead of mornings?also i do warehouse work too in is it good to drink protein before i go to bed???
@jasonsheedy1852
@jasonsheedy1852 8 лет назад
Lamar Landry from what I'm a where of in the morning your natural test level is the highest and slower drops until its lowest level at night time, but your body heat level is the opposite of this, most bodybuilders like Arnold etc trained early morning. but it doesn't matter whatever you feel the best time for you to train is when you should. protein before bed is not important just make sure you reach around 0.8 grams per pound body weight for the day.

They usually last from 75 to 90 minutes. I recommend around 90 seconds on average between the heavier sets. Only on leg day I take a little more rests. Take only 60 seconds rest when it's light.

Great content! Quick question, how long do you do your cutting phase and lean bulking phase?
@VintageGenetics
@VintageGenetics 8 лет назад
It depends on which competitions I'm doing so it depends. Right now I'll slowly cutting again in 2 months. I try to stay lean year round to prevent muscle loss because I don't ever need to do a deep cut.
@crasherdanny388
@crasherdanny388 8 лет назад
+VintageGenetics oh okay. Basically do just you stay on a lean bulk phase until you have a competition planned? I don't plan to compete but I'd like to build a physique similar to yours.
@VintageGenetics
@VintageGenetics 8 лет назад
True. For example my last competition I had was 2014 in december. And I did a lean bulk until october of 2015 because of a guest posing. Then went straight back to lean bulking until another guest pose/competition arises. I would lean bulk for at least 6 months for it to be effective.

Pyramids sets indeed. I rely heavily on cardio when cutting. I do it every day post-workout besides on leg days. I start out with 20 min at the start of the cut and work my way up to 30 min while slowly increasing intensity as well.

In the morning if my face is a little puffy I'll put on an ice pack while doing stomach crunches. I can do 1000 now. After I remove the ice pack I use a deep pore cleanser lotion. In the shower I use a water activated gel cleanser, then a honey almond body scrub, and on the face an exfoliating gel scrub. Then I apply an herb-mint facial mask which I leave on for 10 minutes while I prepare the rest of my routine. I always use an after shave lotion with little or no alcohol, because alcohol dries your face out and makes you look older. Then moisturizer, then an anti-aging eye balm followed by a final moisturizing protective lotion.

Milk thistle, brewer's yeast and beetroot juice concentrate daily to clean up your liver and toxins from your body. Also consume enough fibers to make your intenstines work more efficiently. Isn't it hard to do chest on wednesday if you do triceps the day before that? Because they would have been worked out therefore you would be weaker when u hit chest. What do you think?
@VintageGenetics
@VintageGenetics 8 лет назад
I only do one tricep exercise for the pump on tuesday, to stimulate the triceps and to deliver nutrients to the muscle from the pump. I won't get sore from it personally! And during chest I try to activate my chest lots more than my triceps, which makes my chest fatique much faster than my triceps anyway.

You mean with dumbbells? I use the dumbbells but I use the barbell more out of preference. But dumbbells certainly are part of my routine, especially the incline dumbbell press.

Nevermind, I just saw you bench in a smith machine so I thought is there a reason you do that sometimes? Definitely going to stick to this channel though, awesome physique and hope I will learn something new. Keep up the good work!

hey man! great videos! but i found some way of training in this video a little weird imho. in general your move or position of lower body is not proper to me. e.g. last rotational exercise is quite uneffective doing it your way. you should fix your legs (recommend wider stance) and move just with you upper body! your way of doing dl with dumbells are also weird and not so good imho. if you want to do some hinge and lock out ok, do it just at the end. but these funny moves of yours hips are not good, attention should be on down and up moves of dumbells with fixed legs and hips as possible. your way of doing is a lot for lower back (stress) but not too much for hamstrings and butt. i recommend probably heavier weight (a little bit), slower execution with focus on lowering, it means slower down, faster up, not just some kind of swinging. i would recommend to you for your triceps (long head) to focus on start of movement, angle of your elbows should be sharper and elbows as back as it possible (standing exercises). movement of hands (with cables for example) should be more backwards not just down (bending forward or split stance could be beneficial). i wish you more golden era gains!

I tried the rope ab crunches several times, but could not feel the right muscle work in my abs, no matter how I alter the technique. It always seems to be too little weight to stress the abs, and with more weight, my back is overstrained or the weight nearly lifts me up from my knees.

Try going all the way down until you hit the ground basically, contract the abs hard when you're at that point. I get a deep contraction that way.

Thanks, maybe I should treat it like some biceps concentration curls...less weight, but lots of muscle to brain connection....will try it in the next workout...
