It's the one boss fight where I summoned simply because Igon was too passionate to ignore XD Also the mad guy nailed a stagger on Bayle. Wins the prize for the most determined NPC in the game.
He crafted dragonslaying harpoons one by one with the last ounces of his strength, even as he lay dying in the mud, in anticipation for this moment. According to his armor, Igon was a desperately poor scavenger who had finally found meaning in his life through dragon communion, but Bayle absolutely destroyed him. I love how he says: “Behold! A true drake warrior, AND I, Igon!” It’s the sweetest compliment from such a badass.
WITH EVERY LAST DROP OF MY BEINH!!!! Felt like captain Ahab facing Moby Dick 😂😂 This voice actor replaced Rykard with his TOGEDAAAAH, my favorite by far.
Not only that, none of his limbs work. The guy we fight alongside is his sheer force of anger poured into the remainder of his soul left on the mountain. The summon isn't a guy, it is pure anger and passion in the shape of a human.
His motivation is what makes it easier. Most of the time bro isn't that helpful. That being said, imma summon him EVERY time I fight Bayle. Need that monologuing to hype me up
So Bayle the Dread was likely the first of the non ancient dragons, missing a foot, had both wings shredded down to bone, wears two of Placidusax’s heads like chains, fights you in a badass volcanic crater and breaths fire-lightning?? Perhaps this is From’s most badass dragon fight yet
We can add curse you bayle to the list of monologues that go hard in fromsoft titles. Along with “behold your mother is dead.” From the base game and “look master I’ve done it.” From bloodborne.
“When The Ashes are two, a Flame alighteth. Thou art Ash, and fire befits thee, of course.” “What? Still here? Hand it over, that thing, your Dark Soul.” “Oh dear brother, I’m on my way. My brother; unyielding sword of Lothric’s Prince. Rise if you would… for that is our Curse.” Pretty sure whoever comes up with these are given blank checks.
CURSE YOU, BAYLE! I HEREBY VOW...YOU WILL RUE THIS DAY! BEHOLD! A TRUE DRAKE WARRIOR! AND I, IGON! YOUR FEAR MADE FLESH! SOLID OF SCALE YOU MIGHT BE, FOUL DRAGON... ...BUT I WILL RIDDLE WITH HOLES YOUR ROTTEN HIDE! WITH A HAIL OF HARPOONS! WITH EVERY LAST DROP OF MY BEING!
Funny enough for me, even after he despawned, he wouldnt stop using Dragons Claw. I followed it all the way from one side of the arena to the other. Bros a top tier hater.
I beat Bayle without Igon, once I got real close to killing Bayle with Igon I memoried of grace out and redid it solo. And i can say that this fight is so much more fun with Igon, typically I find soloing bosses more fun but not here, Igon is the GOAT. Also I have not been able to see what Dialogue Hornsent has for keeping him alive during the Messmer fight on youtube yet. I would like to see that.
Yes normally I don't summon ever, however from the moment I heard Igon cursing on the side of the road I was "I WANT THIS MAN IN MY TEAM" I was NOT disappointed. I summoned Hornsent initially for Messmer but he was just vengeful without passion, so I booted him out and fought Messmer alone. A fantastic boss, worth of a 1v1
Igon is by far one of my favourite NPC's from all the from games. You find him screaming in pain in the floor at some random place Then after slaying a couple of dragons he appears in front of you and says "Bro, wanna slay one more lizard? take this and summon me dude *casually rips of his finger* " and the second you summon him he screams at the top of his lungs to the cool ass thunderflame dragon in front of you Then after you kill the dragon he goes "ez, ok bye *fucking dies* "
Imagine the volcano erupting, blasting the platform you are fighting the boss into the stratosphere, then Igon using the Dragon Claw incantation to hold Bayle in place, for he could not escape being shot into space. As he screams, vowing to end the dragon, they both disappear into cosmos and explode in a massive nova release of energy, coating the sky above the Shadowtree.
Almost had a heart attack before defeating Bayle. His health bar was empty but needed just that one last hit. My mimic had just died and I was a fair distance away from Bayle. He launched into the air while I was running towards him and I almost cried thinking he's going to do his mega lightning-nuke aoe attack and I'll be dead. Well he did just a basic ground slam attack which I dodged, started sprinting towards him again but Igon, miraculously still alive, delivered the last hit with his arrow. Maybe the best NPC in a Souls game ever and the most epic boss fight FromSoft has done.
It's right at the entrance of the fight, it took me a while to spot the summon sign. The best way to find his summon sign is where a lot of messages are put by other players, so they can hinder other players 😂
