Was it too short, or what is a good length for videos like these? Let me know below!
@@cougarpegasus I've been looking at the M1 Garand reload from COD WWII you put in here but I can't figure what was cursed about it, could you point it out?
with some of these I don't really know whats wrong with them because my knowledge with guns is a bit limited so please tell me if you know and yeah the Einhorn shotgun the revolver at the beginning and fallout 4s pipe weapons are a bit cursed
@@SHORE933 Probably to gain attention to Vanguard. Apart from a modern F2000, they also gave us a futuristic EM1 Laser weapon a la Advanced Wafare, under the umbrella of "prototype weapons" (+ a pistol). For me, calling it prototype weapons is cool, but for many throwing the WWll settings... Yeah, I can see the disappointment.
Pretty funny how in COD:Mobile, if you get the extended mags for the revolver, the cylinder model will actually change and will actually hold 8 instead of 6
@@therandomscout6590 That's been a thing in many CoDs, and games in general. Probably for quickly identifying an attachment you're looking for by its icon
I still remember the GTA IV "reloads" where on most guns you didn't even change magazines. I think you only did if you were in cover, otherwise you literally just pull the charging handle and magic another 30 rounds into the gun.
That's because R* didn't really bothered with making proper gun animations until Max Payne 3, all of their games before MP3 will have static weapons that aren't even animated at all.
I was very confused when the iraqi reload showed up, then I realized the ak had no stock lol. EDIT: It's a great feeling to keep receiving replies and notifications about devs fixing this for the 15th time, really appreciate it.
@@theoneandonlyartyom oh 100%, it has to be shortened to make the weapon actually usable in game. I'm not saying it should be accurate, but it is cursed when you think about how that would work if someone actually tried it that way.
@@theoneandonlyartyom 2 mins is pretty exaggerated since soldiers could shoot 3 times in a minute. But regardless of that, they couldve spent an extra 2 seconds in the reload having him prime and cock the action. If the player is deciding to pick up a fucking *musket* in a game with modern firearms they can deal with the reload lol
Just one thing, the Garand reload seems pretty accurate. I know when COD WWII came out, many people complained about the animation because he pushes the bolt forward after inserting the en bloc clip. However, this is actually true to life. While the bolt could go forward automatically, other times it would need to be pushed forward manually. Also, we see him press the bolt release. So, the Garand reload seems to check out.
It’s the ping when the clip is ejected. The ping is made by the metal resonating. If there’s still bullets in the clip when ejected, it will damped the ping significantly because it would dampen the resonation.
Did you notice the reload animation with the scope? That would not work IRL due to the scope blocking the clip from entering. You'd have to load every bullet one by one.
I would have personally preferred if they made more than one reload animation to accurately depict the Garand's bolt and how it functions. Battlefield V had if I recall 3-4 separate animations for the Garand being reloaded, some showing the bolt automatically slamming forward while other times it gets a bit sticky, so it needs a nudge in the right direction.
@@cougarpegasus I own one. It’ll ping when there’s like 4 or less rounds in the clip because they get loose and go flying out of it. Also the bolt going into battery is usually less common than me having to tap the charging handle forward on my rifle.
I’d like to think the iraqi reload without a stock is just the operators having infinite dexterity and long fingers with their thumb on the back of the grip while pulling the charging handle with the rest of their fingers
Fun fact: For BF2042, they recently updated the M240 and and M249 reloads to be a bit more realistic, but here's the kicker... The M60 still has the same reload as before. EDIT: They didn't fix the M249 reload either, idk who the hell said it was but it isn't.
As much as I loved BF3, I never noticed until recently that the M240 is modeled with a belt box mounted under the receiver like an M249. The box is supposed to mount to the side of the receiver, because the ejection port is underneath.
"idk who the hell said it was but it isn't." you did. You said it was updated. Thats your comment "Fun fact: For BF2042, they recently updated the M240 and and M249 reloads to be a bit more realistic,"
Individually loading each shell into the cylinder of the Becker shotgun...followed up with reloading a box magazine underneath it: That actually made me cock my head to the side in absolute bafflement. Just...holy shit
Did anyone mention that the shells weren't coming out at all and only came out when the character pulled a bolt back that DID eject a shell but proceeds to swap the magazine.
F76 gets a lot of bad press but I once had a quad capacity single action revolver drop for me. That meant I had to sit there for 27 seconds as my character reloaded each bullet one by one. That was 24 bullets in a 6 shot cylinder
At least the single action is a realistic design (well, minus the whole 24 bullets in 6 hole cylinder). Pipe guns though... I cringe every time I even think of these abominations
for those viewers who think gta 5 shotguns reloads very strange, just click 1:33 for loops it and it will makes the character reload the shotgun normal.
2:15 imagine being in the middle of fighting the Taliban and you hear Achmed shout some Aramaic voodoo magic shit and then you see him reloading his floating AK-74u 😐
In mwii, when you reload with dual pistols one of the pistols floats next to your operator, it’s also why when using a laser one of them stays active when reloading, you can see this easy in third person mode
The problem is that realistically, reloading the garand like this would cause garand thumb. That bolt ain't gonna hold back once you insert that en-bloc clip
@doorsareforopening That doesn't really make any sense. No matter the shape, pushing that mechanism in the bottom of the M1 is gonna cause the slide at the top to go forward. Sometimes it doesn't, but those are rare cases.
Tbh gta v reloads are more for tp view than fp view Also i had always wondered how would mwii kastov's reload work if there's no stock equipped and you've answered my question
Funny enough, the Combat Shotgun (based on an SPAS-12) that they added in the Cayo Perico Heist update does have a reload animation where your character does put the proper amount of shells into the gun rather than a single one filling the whole tube magazine.
With the first one for the revolving shotgun, that's actually just how the gun works IRL. It's basically an Armsel Striker, 70 years before the Striker built. The detachable mag, though. That's unforgivable.
@@johnmatteson2590Because it isn't required. Again, it's like a Striker. Firing the second shot ejects the spent shell of the first. Firing the third ejects the second, and so on. After firing a full five shots, you're left with four empty chambers, and one chamber with a spent shell. That last spent shell is lined up with the loading gate, so you can now manually eject it and load another five shells.
2:25 The XM8 just works through German space magic don't worry. Okay but seriously, I think they're pressing the bolt release inside the trigger guard, it's hard to see if that's actually animated but it looks to not be (I see how one could be mistaken for them pressing the AR-15 equivalent). However the bolt handle is improperly animated, the "ready" position is where it would actually be when pulled back and it should be further forward, the bolt does not dissolve into the gun entirely, that would make it impossible to manually release the bolt for whatever reason.
@@cougarpegasus Though hard to see, the magazine release is that black paddle either side of the trigger guard, and while not visible it's also a standard paddel by the magazine itself, allowing the user to strike their finger against it with their right hand while pulling out the mag, or using their trigger finger to strike the one beside the trigger guard, not sure why they animated it so low down during the reload, usually animators want their animations to be visible.
@@cougarpegasus Oh yeah no I still hate the animation too, it's hiding all the juicy reload action from the camera but at least the model is semi well done except for the lack of good texturing, the original from BC2 looks better.
May I bring your attention to one of the most cursed reloads of all time, the 23 round m1 garand in payday 2. Using the galant rifle and the superfire skill, you get to reload 23 rounds in an 8 round clip
1:53 What's wrong with this? Pulls charging handle and locks it up in place, removes mag, replaces mag, smacks charging handle down to send the bolt home. Am I missing something?
You should have seeen the M249 SAW in battlefield 2042, you open it with basically 2 fingers on the front end of the cover, even though it would be literally impossible to open, and hurts even more when Battlefield 4 did it the correct way
One thing That always bothered me in RE4 is the fact that even if you shoot 8+ rounds from the shotgun and Riot gun, Leon will always reload 2 shells, and still get all the bullets back (idk if it does it with the striker, haven't unlocked it yet). What makes it more bothersome to me is that they use the same exact animation in RE5, So Chris also reloads 2 shells and gets full mag capacity.
Action movie physics were more welcome than realistic physics when these games were made This didnt really bother anyone, even though we all knew it didn't make sense - logic used to be "is game is ok"
It's gameplay over realism. Since these games are pretty fast paced while in combat and also have you standing completely still and unable to cancel out of these animations, they make the reloads fast. It would be completely absurd to have you sit there reloading for 6+ seconds.
@@dalek14mc nah bro, most revolvers in games have the cylinder pop out, bullets drop (no ejector used), use a speedloader to put bullets in, flick close. often the guns facing up so the bullets would actually fall out in real life after the speedloader is used. doesnt sound advanced to me
@@freedoomer2524 That’s not what I’m talking about. I’m talking about HIDING the revolver while the rounds are being reloaded individually. COD has been doing this since the Black Ops days. When you look at things like FA:S 2.0, which is an independent title that came out nearly a decade earlier, it puts COD to shame.
0:51 i still really like this reload for the Garand, its completely plausible and not too far off from reality. There wouldnt be any ping sound any you would eject a round in the process but it looks pretty cool.
0:50 the only pipe weapons that are not THAT cursed when you think about it is the pipe bolt action and the pipe revolver. Both look like they could work.
They really should make a different AK reload for when you don't have a stock in MWII Also holy fuck, that Car jumpscare really got me. Edit:They did actually fix it.
@@Cloaker86 if they can do it fast and do it well then why not do it? Every soldier does things differently, sometimes they don't do it the way they were taught.
Honestly there really isn’t much wrong with Vanguards weapons aside from a few attachments and some weapons that are definitely not era appropriate but those are throwbacks like the laser gun
0:52 Garand can be unloaded this way, however ejection varies from model to model. My dad used M1 during his time in military, and, he told me this was the way he unloaded the block magazine. Though for the ping sound, I don't know 1:03 although it wouldn't work with the scope that's featued, you can load M1903 stripper clip with an angle; depends on the scope mount or scope placement 2:03 if the slidelock working too smoothly is the problem here, a well maintained 226 or any other Sig pistol works like a dream; that's why they are so expensive also, oh my god please do not try that Sten thing in real life; %90 of accidents that happened in my uncle's unit was because of either people throwing or using too much force on a Sten
The grand has been a hot topic in this comment section. 😂 I put it in the video because I was under the assumption that a garand did not ping on a partial reload. However after doing more research and different peoples awesome feedback I realized that it kind of is up to the model and how many rounds are left in the clip, since the sound comes from the springiness of the metal clip. I did not know this so imma have to look into that, but you can load any scoped sniper with a stripper clip in game. Nope, it’s the hammers. Both SIG’s hammers seem to not move after the slide is pushed forward. Yeah this animation is terrible. Could have at least made the animation look good and not all choppy 😂
@@sebruHaving scoped rifles, I can say that clip would NOT work. Clip guides have to be put *straight* in from the top. Otherwise it's impossible to load the clip.
You can, in fact, reload the Garand that way. It just won't ping if there's more than 5 rounds in the clip when it's ejected Source: My 1942 M1Garand lol
