@Cougar Pegasus Honestly, VG feels like it was just made by the devs since they didn't really have any time or a proper budget to do something like AW2 or a more futuristic/modern game like BO2.
Technically Vanguard's multiplayer currently sets in the 1950's starting in S3 featuring a few maps set after WW2. Still doesn't excuse the inclusion of the Laser Gun and F2000 tho
@@Tarnished-bn5gq well they do the H&K slap in MW, in GTA they kinda punch the charging handle forward, not down so the handle flys forward as they should for the standard H&K slap.
Why was it stockless in the first place? Is that why they dropped the "S" off the full name "AKS-74U?" The "S" indicates a folding stock. Stockless AKs are trash, and actors who leave folding stocks in their storage position are idiots. Change my mind.
You weren't _supposed_ to hold it by the mag/magwell but from recorded cases many German soldiers still held it that way so it's not _that_ outlandish at least 🫠
It’s worth noting that for the SIG clone reload, the hammer would be doing what’s called a hammer follow. For those unaware, that’s when the hammer follows the slide forward and fires the freshly loaded round. Hence the name.
5:07 Some MP5s do have bolt releases, such as the MP5/10 or MP5/40 but in this clip he’s more likely “punching” the charging handle back rather than slapping it. For the Thompson, newer repo models have been made to fire close bolt I believe, but you still have to insert drum mags like that from the side. FURTHERMORE 2 of the most common mistake animators make with the Thompson is that 1: Thompson straight mags actually have a bolt hold open mechanism (yes this works on m1928s m1a1s and others) but it removed the need to charge the gun on an empty mag. This did not work on drum mags which brings us to number 2, on Thompsons using drum mags (which the m1a1 couldn’t take) when the mag was emptied and the bolt was forward, the charging handle would need to be pulled back before the drum can be moved or a new one inserted, as the bolt blocks the gap where the drum mags slide in and out from the side. All that being said I don’t know how that works on close bolt Thompsons

At 5:14, for the thompson, I saw someone comment already on the bolt having to be opened to load, but another thing is that the magazine comes from the side not the bottom... there is a rail which guides the drum. Also for the G36 in 5:59, the animators may have thought that the G36 had a button mag release and not a paddle one so
in the 3rd person animations, the drum comes out the side, GTA V is mainly meant to be a third person game so they didnt pay as much mind to the First person animations
I know next to nothing about guns, but that last reload just looked uncomfortable to pull off. There’s no way that’s a real thing and has any tactical advantage over other reload methods.
In the M60E4 of 2042, this only happens in empty, but it gets even worse since it's closed bolt in the animation. All Portal belt fed LMGs share the same issue minus the M249 SAW, and also all LMGs in Portal open from the receiver, not from behind. This is most likely because of borrowing the feed tray open animation of the KAC LWAMG in All-Out Warfare, which has a very small feed tray compared to other LMGs. The XM8 shares the same animation as the DDM4V7 PRO in All-Out Warfare, which is actually too funny. The STEN reload in Portal is arguably the worst ngl...
Pretty sure Musket just means muzzle loader. And better animations are out there of military style cap lock muskets like in War of Rights which got a very sexy animation for it.
@@cougarpegasus Not really, from everything i have seen, Rifled muzzle loaders where still called Muskets by troops during the american civil war and the crimean war.
@@cougarpegasus a muzzleloader is any weapons that loads from the muzzle, a musket is a muzzleloader of a certain length. a rifle is typically shorter than a musket since they use rifling and dont need to be musket length but rifled muskets were what many soldiers were around the mid 1800s (the 1870s is where cartridge guns really start taking off)

6:30 Applies to every gun present in BFV - they re-used some aminations in that game from BF1, but for some reason for BF2042 decided to just make a new ones. Why would you spend more time and resources, if the end product is infinitely worse?
The Pipe Rifle's reload animation has 3 bullets in the players hand albeit they proceed to be shoved through the barrel upon insertion, you can see 1-2 frames of it (play at either .25 speed, or frame step using < and >), so it at least does it even if it doesn't make any sense. The animation for chambering rounds when the player bolts the gun however is still inexcusable to me, there's no reason to open the bolt in a way that covers the entire screen if you're going to immediately change how you're holding the bolt the moment you finish pulling it up. You can also add Battlefield 4 to the a list of SIG pistols having a hammer that's decocked after an empty reload, and every shot.
God, the cut between both pipe rifles was so clean, i was under the impression he loaded one round in the chamber, THEN changed drums. Was so confused at first.
it was not clean at all. turn on your eyeballs and watch the clip more than once. not only was there a visual and obvious stutter when he changed clips, but multiple attachments changed as well. it wasnt clean, you are just as perceptive as a deaf mole rat.
This is true, however whatever hammer you have on these pistols the slide will push the hammer down after the last round. The operator does not push the decocker after the slide release which leads me to believe that the hammer should stay down.
This never happened but I had a "friend" who said they'd stab me. I chambered a round in the rifle I had (Remington 700 in 30'06) I said- "Go ahead and try." and eveyone laughed because of gun sound but one of my friends realied I actually had chambered a round and the safety was off. I would have shot but the guy who said he'd stab me really was just fucking around. (Not a great idea in my opinion but thankfully no one was hurt that day.) Anyway I say this because I think you're right. People don't realize how weapons work because too many movies, video games, and t.v. shows have just shown the weirdest stuff that people in real life who actually use the weapons don't actually do.
I have another problem with a "tommy": drum magazine is reloaded by sliding it from the side, but here is loaded like a stick magazine from the bottom, wich is imposible, due to diffrent locking caches on magazines and the gun itself. In reality, drum magazine woud be just slammed into magazine well, damaging the magazine
oh. oh! I was thinking the F2000? what's wrong with the reload, man? that looks proper. I totally blanked on the setting. Some of them I was like "yeah that's cursed." and others it just didn't click.
-for the pipe bolt action multiple rounds are loaded into the gun, its just looks like 1 round is being inserted, however it does look like theres no internal magazine -as others have stated, the GTA V SMG is indeed an HK Slap (well a variant of it) and there are versions of the MP5 that do have bolt releases -Closed bolt thompsons do exist as semi auto commercial repros (tho i imagine it wouldnt be impossible to make em full auto) -the BF portal Sten reload is just very flashy, and as for why they didnt reuse animations, ive heard that their engine make reusing animations very difficult/impossible. its also probably a design decision -what was the problem with the XM8? -aside from the bolt not being open, thats a perfectly reasonable way to reload a C96 rest of them seem to be either "cursed" or just nitpicks (i also know im 10 months late to this video but bah)
The thing is that boat never slidesin to garant or simmilar ones...you probably can't reload them at all And i don't know about existance of like...magazines you can insert from up then eject? Was that a real thing?
At least the GTA 5 reloads are slightly better than 4’s, where Niko pulls the charging handle on the Carbine Rifle and it just somehow magicks another 30 rounds into the mag
My own version of your PPSH peeve is FPS games that try to do an HK slap with the MP40. I say "try" cause they just put the bolt in the safety groove and then take it out cause it is impossible to do a slap with how it's made and they keep doing it and I keep getting annoyed.
Was curious about what made the STEN reload cursed so I came here for an answer, only to find out that... the animation could've been better, but I still haven't heard an explanation of any kind.
I know I'm a bit late with this one, but I noticed in the comments that it wasn't mentioned. 6:22 You missed what was also wrong with the STEN's reload animation and that is that the STEN is also an Open Bolt System, like the Thompson, but the bolt seems half closed.
So it is what I thought from the other vid: this is mega gun nerd pedantry, more power to ya, but I wouldn't consider "non perfect realism" in reloads to be "cursed". Tho that shotgun in Vanguard is egregious. Dinging GTA 5's retroactive first person reload animations is a bit funky to me but go off, king. Don't ever play Resident Evil 4 where Leon will load 2 shells into a Street Sweeper and end up with 12 (or 100).
Real, throwing "cursed" around like it's nothing. On the other hand, I was expecting a pedantic explanation for the GTA MP5 at 4:55 but turns out he doesn't know what an HK slap is 😮💨 This type of HK slap, I call it the "HK bonk", is in RE4 Remake as well.
I never understood why the reload animations in all of the GTA games sucked so hard. In the old ones it kinda works because they look like shit but since GTA IV it bugged me to hell
It’s just because most of the game is played in third person. Which it kinda works, but I cringe every time I gotta lock in and go first person for a shootout. I imagine GTA 6 will be like RDR2 where the animations aren’t bad they are just so sped up that most of them look goofy
i don't think a universal ping noise on a garande reload is cursed. a bit inaccurate? sure. but there's a big difference between "the way a sound effect is stylized in games is a bit inaccurate to how it works in real life tihi" and "putting 40 bullets into a 6 slot cylinder placed on the outside of the gun in a way that clearly doesn't connect to where the ammo goes". something that is actually cursed. something extreme. something that violates the physics of the world and the function of every part of a gun. several other examples in this cursed reload animation video have this problem of not being cursed but like why. having actual cursed reloads as well makes it even more confusing. is it a cursed reload vid or not? prolly why you had to make an explanation video
I would not even seriously point out errors in reloading weapons from GTA 5. There are just tons of them, and all the weapons in the game are a bizarre cocktail of different types of firearms. Like a machine gun that combines elements from the RPD, PKM and experimental PU-21.
