I own a 2020 Softail Standard. It does handle great and I has plenty of torque. You have to be careful when you thumb your right turn signal. Mine almost ran away with me once. That only happened ONCE. 😄
One of the main reasons Harley's way of putting the right signal on the throttle side is the dumbest idea ever. One big reason I haven't gotten a Harley.
I used to have a 2000 softail standard with the older twin 88B motor. I was always surprised how well it handled, even in the twisties. If I was to get another Harley it would be the Lowrider S.
The only thing keeping me from this bike is the small tank size. I would love this bike though. Would do a few mods, but would be more than happy riding it stock for a bit too.
Nice bike and ride. Consider buying some gloves and always wear them when riding. You will instinctively put your hands a down in a crash and it takes no time for your skin to be gone.
Just bought a 2021! Love it. The torque and power are very impressive. When I am in town doing a 90° right hand turn while moving, I find I have to go in first gear, into the friction zone to make a controlled turn. do you do the same? The bottom line is this bike has so much torque and power that it really wants an open road!
Just got this bike and I’m a new rider not to big and not to small just perfect will be learning on this bike and sharping my riding skills ? how good does it lean and handle sir ?
Handles good ! Not a sport bike but still decent. If you lean too much you can scrape. I did on this video at one point leaning left. You can hear it scrape lol
They’re actually pretty good but this is my dads bike and I normally ride a road glide. Overall it feels lighter which makes it feel like it brakes better. So probably subjective.
Harleys are made to be shifted pretty early because of all the torque. You'd very rarely be running it to redline in daily riding. But there is an RPM gauge built into the speedo if you want to see what your bike is taching. Also, I believe redline is like 5500 or 6k on M8s.
