Fugi Nevada 1.7 Review and Custom Build!
By request here is a list of Parts and where I got them.
Rims are stock. I just removed all the decals.

Cane creek Headset adaptor to convert a straight steer to a tapered steer. (this is not necessary if you use a straight steer tube)www.amazon.com...

Sun Race 1x12 cassette (ebay)
Sram Eagle GX rear derailer, Eagle GX 12 speed chain, Sram Eagle GX 12 speed Shifter (ebay) can be purchased as a set
Sram truvative 12 speed crank (ebay)
Carbon bars (Chinese brand, any will work) (ebay)
Stem 50mm (ebay)
Da-Bomb Brown saddle (ebay)
Foam SRAM Grips (ebay)
Fork: Rock Shox TK30 Silver 120mm travel. Air suspension (off of another bike)
Pedals came with bike

I own a 2014 Fuji Nevada green, I have been making major updates on it... My new drive train is a SRAM NX eagle 12 speed. A RockShox recon silver fork 180 mm SRAM rotors (front and back) SRAM level brakes. Specialized fast track 2.1 tubeless tires... Finally, this a incredible bike now!

Your video has inspired me to do a similar job with my 2016 1.7 Nevada. SRam Eagle, DTSWISS and Suntour Axon (fox stickers) instagram.com/p/CFR3h6HnKqf/?igshid=pkjlncvaoekd. 11kg Whip. Careful with new tapered forks. I had to cut my own bottom cup for this particular Nevada because there was a 1mm lip inside the headset. Thank you

Just bought one of these but I got the dark gray color. It will do for now but I really like what you've done might do something similar instead of replacing if I get more into MTB.

They have upgraded way beyond that bike these days. Front end is only upgrade worth effort I can find and only to go remote and hydraulic or air. Neither is justified in expense. Great vid well narrated. Kudos.

I have a nevada 1.6. upgraded to deore m6100 groupset, schwalbe hans dampf tires, carbon handle bar, kore stem, sealed bearing pedal, etc... 1500usd total upgrades.

The Standard wheel on this bike, was it a Vera Terra DPD16 rims 32h, Formula DC-20 front, DC-31 rear disc hubs.

I have the same bike, been riding it on the stock components since I bought it a year ago. thinking about 1x eventually. I recognized the black trail at draper in the beginning of the video. I ride draper a lot.

Very nice, and good job. I'm now install a Suntour Axon tappered in a Nevada 29 1.7 likes you, and my headset bottom adaptor can not put inside completely in the bike because its 15mm longer and Fuji only have 7mm inside, please can you tell me what bottom headset adaptor you buy? Thank you

Sorry I’m getting back to you so late. You actually just grind it down to length. I believe I had to grind my adapter length down to make it sit flush on the frame, otherwise there is a gap

@@MSRWorkshop Thank you for that information. I have an older nevada 1.7 year 2014 I think and I'm curious if I could also do same with what you did on upgrades specially that on 12s cassette.

@@MSRWorkshop I checked the hubs used in 2018 and 2104 model and its is the same DC-22. Hopefully they did not change the size over the years :D Great tips and very informative. Appreciate it man.

May i know about the axel?? Did you convert the Frame to thru axel??

No. If you replace the front fork with a through axel the front can be bit the rear will always be a quick release

You get one of the small tools used for cutting copper pipe and cut. I would cut about 3in off and try it. You can get the tool from lowes or Home Depot. They are not very expensive

Did you have to replace the rear hub in order to go from an 8-speed to 12-speed cassette? Or was it compatible?

I got a Sunrace cassette that was compatible. The Sram NX will also work.

what year is the bike? i also have a nevada 1.7 but it'S 2016 and doent have a tapered headtube. does this model have one?

Édouard Renaud nope it had a straight tube. In the description I have a link for the adapter so you can convert it to a tapered tube if you need. I think it’s a 2017

Roberto Luis Zotti I would double check with your local bike shop. I know I wanted the dub but for some reason I wasn’t able to use use it. Can’t remember why, I ended up using the Sram 73mm bottom bracket instead of the dub version

Did the tapered fork adapter go right into that steerer tube? I have a 2018 model 1.5 and the steerer tube looks to be the same.

Drew Weikum it should . You may need to have a bike shop pull off the bearing race that sits at the bottom. There pretty hard to get off without the proper tool and then there tapped on to the new fork

Drew Weikum no the cup fits in but the length of the cup had to be trimmed. There is a metal line on the taper part that I cut it back to so it fits flush, otherwise there is a gap between the adapter and the frame where it press fits on

Im new to mountain biking and I need some help! I have the full sram nx eagle dub set, will it all fit on this bike?

Sean Drazan as far as I know yes. If it’s the newest version than yes. The only part on the old version was that the cassette would only fit the sram hub, I remedied this by using a Sunrace that would fit any hub without modification. I believe the new Eagle NX cassette will fit any hub now !

Hi, nice upgrade! .. need some help/advice with the archive.fujibikes.com/2018/Fuji/nevada-275-152 The current wheelset is Vera Terra DPD16 rims 32h, Shimano TX-505 front, Shimano TX-505 rear disc hubs, 14g stainless black spokes Q. Can the 9mm QR be replaced with 15mm through axle?If yes then what changes need to be done? Also did you change the rear hub? The dc-22 rear disc hub on your bike is 8-9 speed compatible but how did you put a 12 speed cassette? Ty!

Zacq Ramyrez Hi a quick release cannot be converted to a through axel the wheel will have to be rebuilt. It’s cheaper to buy a new wheel.. fitting the 12 speed was easy. Sram Eagle NX makes a cassette that will fit any standard hub. When I did mine at the time they did not so Sunrace makes one as well.

Zacq Ramyrez The only way you can do a through axle is to replace the front fork with a new suspension fork. The front wheel could be a through axle but the back would still be a quick release because it’s built into the frame. I built another bike with full suspension and replaced the front shock to a through axle but the back wheel is still a quick release

@@MSRWorkshop oh i see.. Also can you share the links for the rear cassettes which will fitt the standard hubs as in my case.. Or share the model numbers? Also is it worth it to replace the wheelset on the nevada 1.5? I mean are they heavy? If yes then can a thru axle wheelset be converted to QR using some adapter ? Since the frame doest support thru axle or need to get the wheelset with qr hubs.. Any lightweight good options in that category? Ty P. S. Sorry for eating your head with so many questions but im curious :)

Zacq Ramyrez lol that’s ok. The wheels are ok. They can be made to go tubeless with a Stans tubeless conversion kit and that will help the weight. The biggest weight drop will be going to a 1x system. The crank and bottom bracket on this bike are really really heavy, as well as the suspension fork. I believe the dork alone was 7lbs. Replacing everything it lost around 7lbs I got the cassette off eBay. Just search for a Sunrace 12 speed cassette and it’s a one size fits all

Srikanth Bhat depends on how good you are with eBay and searching for the best deals. But right now the Eagle GX group set with Sunrace 1x12 cassette is around $400, tires around 100 and odds and ends little things about $100. So maybe $600 ish for upgrades
