I dont build drones, i build 1 and 3 lb combat robots, but Joshua's channel is still one of the best resources on really pushing ESCs, radios and batteries, despite being entirely the wrong hobby since he's so thurough and explains even the oddball configurations that might be the exact thing i need
@@Lolleka no rule against that but it probably adds complexity and doesn't provide sufficient benefit for the sport. Not that doing things just because they're cool is bad 😎
That lest line: "it flies so good, and you crash, now you gotta fix your quad for an hour, but you got a taste.." that hit close to home. The "taste" that I got resonated with me so much that now I literally have a career in drones..
Im at the point where I actually got a few flights in thanks to JB. Took me about 2-3 weeks of watching videos, reading forums and wanting to just quit a few times. After the learning curve, the feeling of accomplishment made it all worth it. That first flight felt incredible and it's true what they say, your hands will shake, your heart will skip differently from that day forward. There is something about building such an incredible little flying machine that does something to the soul.
I was smiling when I saw that Bardwell was building almost the exact same quad I built and then pulled out a QX7 with the Crossfire Micro which I fly until this day.
I've personally always enjoyed tinkering and working with small electronics so it's always funny to me to see people describe the "worst" part of the hobby. Maybe it's because I've come into quads so late but even on tiny whoops things are generally labeled right on the board, soldering aside it's very "plug and play" type building.
This reminds me of when I got started. Bought a 5", and while I could fly it, I was very bad. Once I saw a video from Shutterbug about a Beta75 converted to a Beta85, I was hooked. I'd fly that thing for hours on end, laps around my house. Over and over and over again. Crash after crash after crash... flip over, fly, crash, repeat. Huge progress because the damn thing wouldn't break.
Bardwell is the Greatest. I still fly a skitzo frame I won from him years ago. and if it wasn't for his knowledge and teachings id never be in the air.
As a homestead farmer with goats I only use fpv drone for pasture management it is way safer and you train them much easier as long as I have a full charge on battery that animal does not stand a chance the only time they get away if my video cuts out sometime too many obstacles😂 sometimes I get stuck in a tree now I have a special stick with a hook
Man it must have been so hard to not give too much information for this type of video. I think you did a very good job. But I also agree with it being a deleted scene when thinking about the perspective of someone who knows nothing about the hobby.
Fascinating work on the deleted scenes, too bad they couldn’t fit everything in. Learned quite a bit from you and from others like Project Blue Falcon, may he rest in peace. If it wasn’t for PBF I would have never found the correct stick point settings and never would have gotten my first build in the air. One of the most exciting ventures I’ve had.
Thanks man for all the help. I’ve been learning a lot. Keep on doing your thing. You have helped and guided me more than you will ever know. Many thanks. It’s so much fun.
I scratch build planes and its always such a process from conception to forever. On one hand I hate when things stay finicky and to always be tweaking stuff. On the other hand its always so fulfilling dreaming and creating something and seeing it work
sorry to see this is a deleted part in the documentery, you deserve beter , if i have an oppertunity to shout out your the goat, i will . wish you the best!!
Hey Bardwell, I am looking into getting the T16S as my second drone controller. Would this be a good buy? Should I get the 4 in 1 or the ExpressLRS version.
Bardwell has helped all of us, for video tutorials, he is the absolute best. I think that Oscar Liang deserves a shoutout too, because sometimes written documentation is better for me. I don't have to pause and rewind. His walkthroughs have helped me just as much as JB, just want to make sure he is mentioned here. JB and Oscar can help you through any problem you may face in FPV.
if i buy radiomaster TX16S Mark II Max ONLY ELRS version (not 4 in 1) So what can i use Ranger 2.4GHZ(for upgrade multiple antenna) or Bandit 915 MHZ (for long range) Can i use External EXPRESSLRS MODULE ????????????
Started out in FPV in December 2023, I wanted to get a BnF but then discovered the JB QAV-S 2 beginner kit. I will almost never buy a BnF now! Custom rules!
@stefanisdigital Hey Joshua, what about the NEW GEPRC DoMain3.6 HD O3 Freestyle FPV? Captain drone has done his review, I am waiting for yours before buying!
