I couldn't resist the urge to watch the video. I can't wait for Pussy Willow to come home! It's gorgeous. I love the color and the Mrs. Cog printables just puts it over the top. Thank you so much, Gayle! Of course I loved the other book too ;)
Aw, I absolutely loved Pussy Willow so much! Love these Journals Gayle. Very You. That Kitten though & the colors in it are My fave. I so love the images You chose to go in Pussy Willow & the damask papers. Love all the animals in it. So beautiful. & the Vintage playing card. Such a great Journal.
Just a journal making machine!! Haha!! I'm really going for it because my husband retires in June, then I know my life...and time for journal making...will change. Thanks for watching, my dear! ❤️
Wonderful inspiring books, love the bright Colors off the first one and the images off those old children books in the second one are so sweet! Thanks for sharing. Greetings Maia
So adorable! I am using the same colorful paper that you used in the dictionary book to do my own LGB journal. You inspire me to get moving and finish. My mother bought me one each week when we bought groceries...back in the 50s. I am one of your old subbies who just loves the memories prompted by these books.
I so adore all these LGB journals you make Gayle. I lucked on to a set of five new ones at a thrift store recently. Copyright is 2010. They have never been opened. Of course the stories are still old and the images are just so very sweet. I found an old Dick and Jane book some months ago but gave it to my twin great nephews who are six. I learned to read in those books and I thought their mommy could let them read from that one. I hate phonics and truly believe that is the reason my grandchildren have trouble spelling. Gayle, I've got the first signature sewn into my Lady and the Tramp book. I'm so excited! If mine looks even a third as nice as yours I will be happy and may attempt to make some more. Thank you Gayle for sharing the fun, unique gift of your talent.
Hi Gayle! Long time subbie here and I just wanted to tell you how much you’ve inspired me in my junk journaling and my art! Thank you for always showing how to do things your way and love your channel so much!
I absolutely love these and would love to make one! I wish there were a fix for having to fold the LGB pages though. Hmmm...will think on this. Thanks so much for sharing your creativity...just lovely!
So cute! I want to be like you when I grow up lol. I am new to JJ & I have always loved LGB so that’s what I’m starting out with. I have my signatures put together I think. Have you ever decorated the book before sewing it together? I need to start making tags, tucks, bands etc! Your work is simply amazing. I discovered you yesterday & I will be watching your videos while I work on this journal! You have given me such inspiration, I have a long way to go! Happy crafting
Welcome to my channel! I’m so glad you’re here! I do sometimes decorate the pages before sewing in the signatures. I for sure do all the sewing beforehand. ❤️
Beautiful idea, you’re very talented. Unfortunate that the story pages are folded, maybe expand the spine so folding would be unnecessary. Thanks for sharing!
Love these book Gayle!! You did a wonderful job as usual. I was wondering if you could do a video on the corner pockets and the beads that you made at one of your weekend getaways (seminar)? Thanks Gayle!!!
Holly Smokes the colors on the first one. I will keep my eye out for that one. Gorgeous! Love your stacked circles. Both so pretty. Shaker cards are great idea for LGB. Wanted to ask, where do you get your little stamps with your name on them?
Oh Gayle, these are so beautiful! This is probably a silly question, but I just can't wrap my head around it 😴 (maybe just tired) how in the world do you divide the book pages up in the two signatures so they are in order? Lol thank you❤🌷
Hi Ellsie! You're not the only one that has asked about the signature. I'll do a tutorial on how I do it next time I make a LGB! Thanks for watching! ❤️
These are so so adorable! I love the buttons on the spine! The Ermalinda tag is adorable! Do you use a die to create it? I love the Dick and Jane images, very cute. I remember reading those when I was a kid, lol! :) tfs!
No die is used for the Hermelinda tags. She has a tutorial on her YT channel - Hermelinda Z. Aguilar. You could pop over and check her out! Tell her Gayle sent you!! ❤️
May I ask a question? I have watched you making junk journals for a long time. Thank you. I want to make some to sell at an area boutique. But I don't understand copyright works. I see you working in purchased books and remodeling them, but do they have to be a certain amount of old to be able to sell them?
Hi Summer! You've asked the million dollar question! I'm no lawyer, but I can give my outlook. There are many people selling Little Golden Books and other books on Etsy, EBay, etc. I feel altering the book and selling it is no different. I don't claim to have written or illustrated the book. I don't claim it as my own. I give all credit to Little Golden Books. Again, that's just my opinion. I always tell people that you need to follow your own gut and do what feels good to you. I hope that helps a little. It's a totally grey area and I don't know that anyone has the answers. I'm just trying to save the books that are one step from the landfill!! ❤️
Aw, thank you, Eileen! I’m not taking any custom orders right now as I have a LONG list to complete. If you regularly watch my channel though, I’ll be letting everyone know when I either have a journal for sale or am ready to take custom orders again. Thanks so much for your interest! ❤️
Eileen's Paper Obsession the Little Golden Books are $65, design team journals are $72-$85, 5 ring binder journals are $115-$125 and Travelers notebooks are $35 or so. It depends on time, materials, amount of vintage inclusions, etc. ❤️
