I just ordered an Xotic XTC1 with a rosewood fretboard so you know my choice. Having said that I would be happy to own any of the other guitars. Great video!
That Xotic caught me off guard. Hands down winner for me in every example. I even love the color. I hope the neck shape isn’t offputting bc now I want one!
To my ears, at this level you can’t go wrong. These all sound great. It would really come down to how each feels to play. But sound wise, they all are pretty amazing.
To me the Xotic sounded the most "tele-esque" and I would take that one given the chance, close 2nd would be your Fender but to me it sounds quite close to my LP with PAF style pickups, if I had no guitars with that sound, it would be a very tough choice
I have a Strandberg Boden Standard(?). It took me less than a day to get used to the neck and, yes, you absolutely can play it with your thumb wrapped around the neck.
I liked the sound of the Fender most but i thought the Xotic and Strandberg also sounded great! LSL sounded like a low end guitar to me, probably because its hollow?
If Ola mounted the pick up on a plate bridge the Strand would sound more like a tele, it sounds less twangy compared to the others because the pick up is direct mounted to the body. I like the sound of the Strandberg, maybe it does not sound traditional but it sounds very good!
The Strandberg has Suhr pickups in it, and they are a little bit hotter, warmer, not so vintage oriented. I have a Salen Deluxe myself, and I really love it - so light, so ergonomic. And though I'm a "thumb over the neck" player myself, I really love the endure neck.
I had the strandberg. Really liked it. The suhr pickups are amazing. But iam a big guy. It looked so weird on me. I took it to band practise. I got a comment if i did play with a jigsaw haha. I returned it because there where some Little issues with the guitar. And for that price range it must be perfect . But the sound on that guitar was awesome.
I love Tele’s and T Type guitars! I’d prefer your 53 Tele, since it’s closes to my # 1 Tele, which has a fat 52 Deep U Roasted Maple Neck. Swamp ash body, 4 way switch and Lollar 50’s Tele pickups
Be interesting to shootout electric guitars with a piezo bridge, not sure how many of those you sell. I personally like the Schecter C-1 E/A because they put a tone knob on the piezo (it’s not the full eq you’d get on an acoustic-electric of course, but it’s something many other models just don’t bother with.)
I like Xotic the best, it has the most exciting and lively tone, but other guitars have their own thing going on. Except for Strandberg - that guitar just sounds too dull😅
Hi Kris, the Exotic sure sounds good, but the neck shape is a deal breaker to me. The Strandberg is too particular and dark sounding. The LSL is nice, but I prefer their T-Bone series. Yours is the most balanced and ticked all the cases... Cheers
Is this particular Xotic up for grabs? It looks like blue in the video, and the link is to a green one. I would like to get the one from the video, if available.
That's awesome to hear man, it's crazy how different our hands work, haha! I automatically tend to go behind the edge of the neck with my thumb on Strandbergs but it's really enlightening to hear, that it's not the same experience for everyone. Cheers //Kris
Sorry! Danke für's anschauen! //Kris
