A Rio inspired city in progress! My Twitter - / hethendirty My Reddit - / dirtyhyt Music by EpidemicSound.com #Citiesskylines #citiesskylines2 #riodejaneiro
For those of you asking...I had Road builder mod but my game was crashing so I've put it on the back burner for now. Train station platforms coming next episode! DH
Dude! Seriously! I've asked this during the CS1 days and I'm asking again - How in the heck are you not the most watched CS RU-vidr?! Your builds, your ingenuity, your creativity... it's god tier! We salute you!
I think the road builder mod could help you build that super wide Avenida Presidente Vargas in the downtown. It has center lanes with a high speed limit and outer lanes that act like a local road, with lots of trees. Also the old town looks great, definitely taking inspiration from how you did it for my New Orleans style city.
mate!?! This is ridiculous, you are pushing this game forward so much. I watched cities skylines for years (even before I found you with minos) and how it progressed was amazing. People have been patient with cs2 and it looks like that's paying of thanks to you, sully etc. You got called a mad man by 2 dollars in a video the other month, he was right. Incredible as always, thanks dude
This really looks like a Brazilian city, which, considering how CS is meant to emulate the US and some parts of Europe, is only possible if you go above and beyond on detailing. And you do. Just a couple tips for realism, as you don't seem to need all that many. 1 - In Rio that old commercial district is mostly made of pedestrianised 18th century streets, so you can use pedestrian streets galore in this build. 2 - The whole point of the cablecar is to take people to the mountain so they can enjoy the views; they trim the vegetation so it doesn't obscure the sea or the city. 3 - Those black grime decals at the plaza make it look like it rained a couple days before and some puddles dried, leaving the gathered soot and dust behind. It's a very particular look. Most of the time the dirt is lighter than that, though. 4 - There are no level crossings left in downtown Rio today. The last one was shut down in the 90s. 5 - The default long term solution to traffic in Rio is tunneling. Keep that in mind. There are at the very least 12 high throughput tunnels in the city, not only underneath the mountains, but also underneath the downtown waterfront and even underneath buildings. Rio is never afraid of infrastructuring its way out of messes of its own making.
Amazing work, one of the best CS builds I've seen and certainly the best South American city build in CS that I've seen. Heavily detailed plopped builds are probably my favourite type in CS so I'm really happy YT recommended your channel to me. Been binging it recently. Your detail level reminds me of Fluxtrance's abandoned "Avalon" series. Thank you for the episode and keep up the excellent work! On a side note, how tf did they manage to graffiti up high on the platform walls lmao 19:27
The build looks great but in tropical areas like Brazil grass and vegetation just grows.. their would be very little hurt areas, if anything it would be unmaintained by being totally over grown.
Great video! Btw, somebody made all the buildings and service buildings into props, meaning you can put them anywhere without a road connection, this should help you putting stuff to remote areas without a road.
Please add the road builder mod to this city, I think it could add a lot to the city in a multitude of ways that would be really beneficial for the realism and detail portions.
wow you put so much effort into every little bit of this city! I'm really enjoying this series and I don't want it to end, but I know that when it inevitably does, we'll end up with one of the best and most unique CS builds of all time!
Great work as always. One of my favorite CS2 builds on RU-vid. Sometimes a build can look unrealistic but this takes the cake for something you’d see in real life. 👍
That's another amazing build mate. Truly stunning stuff! The patio you started using is great: it's what I've built custom platforms with but you can get cims sinking into them I found... have you tried out _Walkable_ and _Park_ _Areas_ to get cims free pathing across the area? They will do it so lot as access is available and they want to cross to something on the other side. They can also be drawn in 3D as they are not surfaces. Anyway mate, can't wait for the next one.
Hey, you know the search bar mod thingy? I have issues with that mod, if you have ever had issues with it, could you please tell me? I have no idea why but when i install it, the search popup does not show. Also, good video as always, love it
