This customer booked in to have his 1.0 eco boost tuned after finding out it wasn't the model he thought he was buying! So he booked in with us for a stage 1 package deal as we had already done one of these cars for them previously!

I haven't done one of those yet but i believe the tune structure in the way it operates is much the same as all the modern fords there's just a few extra tables, but it shouldn't be a hard job for us.

Hi mate recently went to another smaller tuning company, car is claimed to be running around 160ish brake 240nm but he didn’t seem to go into any sort of graphs it was more just changing a couple files and that was it, now I’m worried about how safe the map is

Best maybe to book it in with us for inspection, we can run it on the dyno log it and see how it’s performing

@@ipwnxdemonzz4223 sold the car now did do a dyno run and tbf to the guy it’s was running 158bhp and it did have loads of mods 😅

@lairdperformance2235 can the 1.0 l ecoboost MHEV 125 be remapped to the 155 bhp ? I've heard the turbos might be slightly different which may hamper my plans? Thank you

I've got a stage 2 @175bhp but want to fully forge at the end of the month, what recommendations of turbo would you recommend for a end goal of 300+? Will be running double titanium valve springs, port and polished head and just speaking with APR to sort out head studs, going to see if I can run fire rings and possibly a block guard to stop cylinder liners walking

You need more than just a turbo as the fuel system is flat out, not long after what people would call 175bhp (which people never make on our dyno it’s more like 165) , you would need larger injectors, or a bigger fuel pump which no where produces and would cost you thousands to do, it’s not worth it in the end result in my opinion as even when forging that can still sometimes not be enough

@@lairdperformance2235 I can agree with you it might seem like a waste of time and resources but there is a market for going this far with tuning a 1.0 as many young people like the prospect of cheap insurance and a powerful motor and why not push the envelope on the possibilities, are the 1.6 and 1.0 HPFP not interchangeable? Not sure ford would go to the lengths up completely redesigning the stampings for the fuel pump between engine sizes? Would have thought a stronger spring being used on the plunger would allow for higher pressures, if they are interchangeable a company in the US does HPFP and then the use of 1.6 injectors or port injection to allow for more fueling head room

@@aidencraigallman1656 there's a guy in Wales who had a high horsepower black or red edition mk7. personally if you're chasing 200+hp I'd just look into upgrading to an ST or there are some people out there who can do a full ST engine swap into at least the mk7 one's including pre facelift

@@Stallzyx thanks for the info 😊, mines a mk8 so the swap would be doable and the dragon engine is a preferred upgrade over the fox due to the better water coolant passages between the bores rather than the grooves of the fox, hence why I wanted to fit liners too and have the passages re worked, probably still nowhere near the cost of having a 1.5 installed with the cost of the engine sitting at £1900 just for the engine without ancillaries

Loads of people claim these sort of figures and they end up making no where near it, it can be done on 99ron fuel but still usually requires some breather mods to do properly, but generally loads of people claim high on the 1.0 but make no where near

@@lairdperformance2235 To be fair, my 2014 Fiesta 98RON remap pushed the car from 100hp/170N.m to 150hp/250N.m on stock hardware, but I am also very aware this was done mid-december at a facility with a fairly powerful wind turbine pushing near 0°C air into the grill/air intake. This wasn't done to inflate the numbers, but rather simply because it was a cold mid-december day. When I checked my OBD2 telemetry on the Nordschleife last summer (30°C air temp) I was still running roughly 138hp/230N.m (depending on altitude), so I absolutely cannot complain about my remap. So, in the end, you are right, the gains on paper always need to be taken with a grain of salt :)
