I have this intake and the heat shield box is only attached to the car with 3 small screws. It takes >1 minute to remove, including removing the OEM cold air duct first. You need to remove the whole heat shield anyway to access the hose clamp under the air filter. You wouldn’t be able to fit a tool down in there if only the top of the heat shield opened up.
I have always been scared of installing the Cobb access port would it be smart to have it professionally done ? Or are we able to do it ourselves not being to tech savvy with things like that ? Also doesn’t it immediately void your Subaru warranty or is there a way to hide it from them ? Don't be scared my brother! Pick up a battery charger for your house and hook it up. It's so easy to install an accessport yourself even my grandma can do it. No really you do not have to be tech savy at all, Cobb has made it mega easy. Your warranty on your motor is probably gone, but as someone who has been modifying subarus for over 20 years now, i've voided quite a few warranties and never needed them. Your basic bolt ons with a protune are absolutely reliable. It is almost impossible to not be tempted to double your horsepower. This 2.4L is corked up and really comes to life with just a few bolt ons. From getting gapped to putting the gap on others, its that big of a difference and we hope you will enjoy it as well. If you have any questions we are also here to help walk you through it. You can absolutely do this in your driveway. Heck, we did! And 20 years ago when i was installing an up pipe on my wrx in the driveway....now that was terrible haha. How the times have changed!
So can I start with just the access port and a intake or do I need a full exhaust too would car back be fine or can stick with my axle backs I have now

What is the best Intake for the car ? I have a 22 WRX premium and for the access port do I need a laptop to install it to the vehicle or does the access port just plug into the car and I load it into the vehicle via access port ? Sorry for the questions just don’t know how to get it installed if it walks you through it what program needs to be installed to the car etc

Cody also made an awesome video on the actual process of e-tuning with clark. he had ours done in 1 day and yours as well. Once you watch this i feel you'll be very confident in how easy it is.
