It’s probably one of those things that you don’t like at first, but maybe they grow on you. I too like the other ones, but I like the addition of the lights in the new ones

I agree. Vehicles this size should come standard with turn signal mirrors.

watch for major announcements on this matter for the 24 model year. and a new engine to replace the Hemi 5.7

Totally agree!! But, it will be fun to see the next refresh/Gen RAM 1500 coming out as a 2025 model year.

Actually, my 08 F250 King Ranch has power fold/telescoping/heated mirrors.

@@treeamigo8447 stats show that the 6.7 Powerstroke and the newest Cummins have about the same reliability. Plus, overall, the FORD is more reliable in other categories. RAM is getting better, but still behind FORD.

That's why most of us never drove with the mirrors down. The convex mirror inline with the flat mirror always screwed with my brain.

I hate my mirrors on my 18 2500 when they are folded down. I don't care if I look like a tool because I ride with them flipped up

I have no visibility problems with the tow mirrors on my 4th gen 1500, I love them

I am wanting to know the same thing, if these can be retrofit to my 2022 3500.

@@jdfleetguy28 looks like the arm base housing to the door is the same, so we may be in luck!

@@hellkitty1014 I was thinking that lower edge was overlapping the sheet metal of the door a bit more then the old/ current flip up mirrors, it may not matter , the real tricky part might be getting the controls to match up or fit into the older door panel on the inside of the truck.

Yet the Ram still has the interior to beat and one thing GM and Ford will NEVER have a quality Cummins Diesel engine!!!!

I own a 2017 ram 2500 big horn, long bed diesel. I’ve put almost 90,000 miles on it. I’ve owned several other Rams, most bought new, since 2001. I’m just wrapping up a work related trip (~3,000 miles) that required I rent a truck. I ended up getting a new 2022 F250 xlt shortbed powerstroke. I did about 2/3 of my trip towing a cargo trailer & the rest with just tools in the bed. Acceleration was outstanding with or without the trailer & definitely better than my Ram with its manual trans. The only real complaint I’d have with the ford is the exhaust brake felt nonexistent. There may have been a slight difference, but nothing close to my Ram. What I did find interesting is the 5 year newer ford rides very similar to my Ram, handles almost as good as my Ram and while tech has obviously changed in that time, the interior surfaces, knobs, buttons switches just look & feel more refined in my Ram. The ford interior does feel big, even compared to my ram, but I can’t say the materials feel more or less durable or comfortable than the other. The non power seat in the ford isn’t the easiest to find a comfortable driving position for long trips, but my ram has a power driver seat & I’ve had several years to get it where I like it. Basically, I’ve had decent luck with Ram trucks over the years, but if the price is right (and they could get get it built before releasing the next model year) I might buy a Ford.

My 22’ Limited is likely my last Ram. Way too expensive for an outdated cab dimensionally and outdated powertrains.

Correct. It will show in the main screen. We tried to show it on camera and due to our low speeds and no trailer attached, I wasn't able to show it.

Yes. It is a setting for when you lock or unlock the doors.

I’m a Ford guy if I have the choice, just my personal preference. I’ve owned Fords since 2000 and all trucks have had trailer tow mirrors the the regular mirror up top and convex mirror below including the two F-150 trucks my wife has owned. They are very user friendly compared to any mirror in any other vehicle I’ve ever driven. I had a 17’ RAM 2500 Cummins through work when they briefly switched brands and could not for the life of me get used to using those mirrors when they were folded in so I drove that truck everywhere with them flipped out granted I towed most of the time. I think this may be the case for most people who own those trucks? Unless you drive a dually they look out of place sticking way out there for no reason in my opinion. Same with extending the Ford mirrors without a trailer or wide service body to look “cool”. To each their own!

Thats what I said. But its because the new cab is made here and the old one in Mexico if I'm not mistaken. I could be wrong though.

Looks pretty similar when extended to the old mirrors. Maybe nothing will change.

@@Pickuptrucktalk So.....if they could design the HD Rebel and not change the rest of the lineup why couldn't they make changes to the PW without changing the rest of the lineup, I must have missed that part in the video you linked to

@@chrisjohnston7608 the HD Rebel isn’t a full redesign. It is just using existing parts to make an alternative HD version. The Cummins just doesn’t fit in the PW. It does in the Rebel. Different equipment on the Rebel, or rather lack of, makes it work.

@@Pickuptrucktalk Yeah hey man I get it, I'm not arguing with you, in fact your response is making my point. "just using existing parts to make an alternative HD version". They could have modified the PW to make a new version that fits the cummins without alternating the entire line up because in fact they did just that and CALLED it a Rebel. The Rebel HD is based off of the PW, your telling me ALL the engineers at Ram couldn't figure out how to modify the PW to make it fit the cummins and still call it the PW of course they could have.

Yeah they fold flat along the sides of the truck and can be programmed to do so when you turn the truck off.

Those mirrors didn’t retract. That’s a big point in the video.

Yeah the prior ones folded up, so maybe it was a pain for people to keep readjusting completely every time they connected or disconnected a load.

@AJOYS Kind of a pain to readjust if your towing regularly, a lot better visibility with them up on dually trucks……how do you KNOW they never tow? Are you stalking them?And have you provided all ram owners with your contact info so they can check with you to make sure they have a valid reason for raising their mirrors?

Those are the drivers that pull invisible trailers. You can't see it but they can.....

The next major change to mirrors for ford will be heated cameras and lights no mirror. One regular cam and one fisheye to replace convex

Telescoping mirrors is the Ford style so it was Ram that copied if anything.

Can't believe Ram beat Ford on the double sided lighting and cameras.

Eventually there won’t be exterior mirrors, there will be cameras mounted on to the A-pillars. Just something else to break but that’s where we are headed.
